Great synth…the only one on iOS that can scream like my Moog Sub 25.
Anyone can tell me how to adjust the LFO rate ? For example, if I choose lfo above the filter, I set the lfo to a waveform, but where’s the rate and amount adjustments that goes to the filter ?
Does all of those well except for pads, but you can still get it part of the way there. Because it’s not fully polyphonic it’ll never have full lush pads like some other synths… but it’s one of my all-time favorite synths as of right now. Bass sounds are exceptionally distinct with this one. Simple is good.
There aren’t that many knobs on this synth. play around and try to find out what works. It’s fun!
Yeah, but somethings like this are basic stuff.
The 'MOD' knob under each section controls the modulation intensity (ie. how much the LFO affects the parameter), the rate of the LFO is the knob next to the waveform selector with 'rate' written under it.
There' is only one LFO that can be fed to the oscillator, filter and amp sections.
For the oscillator you can under the MOD switch what it will modulate, for the filter it's just the cut-off, for the amp it's the level.
Which is why it’s fun and easy to discover on your own. Speaking for myself, I don’t come here to have every simple question i might have answered for me, only things I can’t do on my own. A person can spend five minutes to explore and learn something in the process. That’s a valuable experience.
I was trying to encourage them to have fun and explore on their own. Where’s the sense of adventure if people have no curiosity or initiative? Oh, well. I tried.
Oh sorry, but yeah I see dagger as a 'tweak synth'.
I'm surprised no one has wondered why there's no numerical feedback when tweaking the knobs
Yeah, I like to explore and learn new synths too, but sometimes if you know before some functions aren’t there, it’s saving time. I see no point to search and explore if you know before the function doesn’t exist . I see it kinda wasting frustration and energy on something that wasn’t implemented. Anyway the synth is great and love it’s sound.
I find it a breath of fresh air. No real concern about any of that on my part.

After dealing with nothing but aggravating multi screen synths with endless choices, this synth really hits a sweet spot with me.
You cannot always figure out everything by experimentation. I depends on your knowledge of synths in general.

This is the correct answer. Experimentation and intuition can provide one with the same result as simply being given the answer, but the experience of getting there is completely missed.
Mod range for pitch seems not enough to make more edgy kicks and zaps. Best for bass and leads
Keep playing with the settings. I'm able to get some earsplitting zaps quite easily.
For kicks and stuff that need larger range, set the mix to osc 1, set the pulse-with to max (silence but still signal) crank up the resonance to max and use the LFO envelope on the cutoff using MOD and you can sweep the entire filter range.
I’ve watched the demos and it sounds amazing, no doubt about that, but as someone without too much disposable income who has to be selective when it comes to app purchases, what sounds does Dagger allow you to produce which couldn’t be produced with, for example, Zeeon or ButterSynth?
Thanks. That’s great to know. I’m definitely getting this. I watched a few more videos on YouTube, and got a better idea. Some of the key type sounds on the beepstreet videos are so delicious, heck even some of the monophonic sounds are so full of harmonics and rich that they don’t even sound monophonic.

You got it. I'm so inspired by this synth I've been cranking out a ton of patches (compared to my usual patch design output, not the patchmaking captains here).
I was in heaven tweaking and playing one of those a few weeks ago at the music store. That’s quite the comparison.
To me the real fun with something like this is completely getting out of the head space of making patches and instead just having a good old mad tweaking session, mutating sound as you go
For me the 'Random' function of Dagger is neat...
...when it creates a 'silent' patch it's fun to investigate why to doesn't make any sound and this way I still keep on learning how it works
Good way to look at things. I love it but the randomiser results are not the best
As far as I know there's no 'logic' baked into the randomizer, it's totally random
Like someone else suggested we should hold a massive preset event, like there was for other synths in the past (recently Hilda and Noises).
