I think IAA is still fine in 18, isn't it?
I will go to 18 on my iPad in a month or two. There are still a few issues trickling out when it comes to music apps. No show stoppers that affect me but still I will wait until they're all addressed. Having essentially made a doorstop out of my first iPad by going one update too far, I don't jump on major updates when they come out, but I also don't shy away from them when they've settled down.
One has to take into account that once a major update is skipped, you can never go to it. If, for instance, you're on 17 and don't go to 18, but then an app you would like to have will only run on 18 or up. If 19 is out and it does break IAA. You'll never be able to go to 18 and you'll never be able to use that app.
(To be fair, it's been a long, long time since a major Apple update has made older hardware useless. But once I get burned, I do my best not to repeat the experience.)
What you say it’s absolutely correct
If you skip an update you’re forced to go to whatever to the current build is.
I mean that’s the gamble . It’s assuming you’re never gonna need the iPad for something requiring constant updates….too bad you can’t do updates like a Mac (yet)
The whole thing would be a non-issue if you could do a full "restore" in the technical sense of the word. If you could back up an iOS device and restore it to exactly the state it was in at the time of the backup rather than being forced into updates of the OS and all apps.
Never gonna happen though. But at least, with knowledge of how it all works, iMazing, and regular FOMO vaccinations, it's manageable.
As usual I agree and think you’re right about that . Not gonna happen anytime soon. But I can dream ! I still love iOS , honestly .
I have tried this but get pretty bad unpredictable sync issues with IAA. Link sync then native stem export seems like it should be solid long term.
Failing to understand what is point if this video ) I mean in context of discussion here.. you can do same workflow entirely inside NS without any external app and audio copy/paste galore :-)) Or am I missing something?
@dendy : The guy doing the video is single-handedly resurrecting Caustic. Check out “Saving Caustic” on YouTube
I really appreciate the heads-up about this Telstar! Long live Nanostudio too.
What is the best ressources to learn NS2 ? I don’t find it as intutive as expected.
I've been learning it for the past week or so I've had it. There's only a few tutorials online but learning mainly through experimentation. I'm really loving it so far.
What are you trying to do/want to know? I'm a newbie but happy to share anything I've learnt.
I've got MIDI FX working smoothly in a template. Plus using koala for sample based stuff - as well learnt how to record some midi instruments to koala (as Audio FX).
Plus I'm able to create music to video using AUVideoPlayer.
I use external midi controllers mainly (Launchpad X / NanoKey)
Still a lot I don't know but I'm up and running - and the creation process flows well.
Finding it a lot of fun - combining sampling along with instruments/midi in a timeline. A different approach and workflow compared to using Drambo or Koala standalone.
Yep, and it certainly would be much less useful without 😊
Here's some good step-by-step tutorials from SoundForMore. Go to Youtube to see full playlist.
