I don't know why but I have the impression that it ends up like Auxy...

    What happened to Auxy?!?

I was enjoying using EG Nodes with my Roland S-1 last night - simply connecting via a USB-C cable (iPad Pro) which meant Nodes could sequence the S-1 and also the S-1’s sound was audible through USB audio on the iPad.

When I tried again today I just couldn’t get the audio from the S-1 to work on the iPad through USB audio. It was definitely sequencing the S-1 as I could see the sequence lighting up the “keys” on the S-1.

Then I tested whether I could hear it using AUM and suddenly the sound was there.

I could then use Nodes standalone (not using AUM but with AUM running in the background) and the USB audio was fine.

I assume this is probably an iOS thing, nothing to do with EG Nodes?

Can anyone advise me on a setting to allow the S-1 to be heard on the iPad using USB audio? Or do I just need to load AUM and use that to kickstart the USB audio, before switching to EG Nodes?

PS - very cool using Nodes to sequence external hardware in conjunction with iOS apps! …and using a single cable for audio and MIDI.

If you are using Nodes as a plain midi sequencer, then you can always load it as a MIDI FX into a host that works with the USB audio. If you want to use software instruments, then you just load them into the same host and route the MIDI from the Nodes plugin to them.

Yes, I saw the request site. But I have the impression that you follow your own line, without following users' requests. My impression for goodness sake, happy to be wrong

  • If you see the completed list you can confirm that I follow the most requested by users

  • ah ok, while I'm here, but why is the start of the node in sync, but not the stop? turns off suddenly, without following the sync

  • Following only user requests, that would be a total disaster very quickly. 😂

well obviously they must be followed with the head, not all of them!

This developer has been on it. The app hasn’t been out long at all and there are constant updates, not just bugs but a bunch of new features. At least weekly if not every few days since it’s been out.

Exactly! He’s been super responsive to requests and bug fixes. Nodes has only been out a few weeks and it’s had major upgrades in functionality.

Let’s respect his vision for Nodes. He’s listening to his customers but it’s not design by committee.

  • After the GR16 nothing...when I saw this app I immediately bought it, I hope it won't be abandoned like the GR16

With Auxy, it went the same way (go and see my comments from the past...), I really hope I'm wrong this time, because I really like EG Nodes

GR-16 had loads of updates, what are you talking about? At some point apps are finished. You can’t just keep getting updates for life, especially for free. The level of entitlement on display is astonishing.

    Different developer…

  • Quick question: In the rythm seq, Is there a way to randomize all drumlanes instead of the one selected?

  • ok ok, I won't say anything more.

  • @Bob
Think is a lane at a time on the rhythm node dice

Thanks!! Thought so, but was trying to find out. Would be nice to have a general dice tough.

  • @bob I agree
Or press dice to open up a few options
I will suggest it on discord

Thanks to wars.. The developer is in Ukraine..

But Node does need to address the Scene/Snapshot switching issue .. like, Now..
it is boring, annoying to wait for a pattern to complete before you can switch to another.. The beauty of the pattern/scenes/snapshot programs are the ability to switch scenes fluidly..

Sorry.. but .. Thanks for Node..

The war has nothing to do with it (luckily), I had spoken some time ago with Jim (the developer of the GR16) and he had simply told me that he no longer had time to follow the project

Now you have to explain to me the meaning of switching between one pattern and another without Sync, the nice thing about grooveboxes is precisely the transition between one pattern and another following the tempo/metric of the song!! So you're telling me for example that the MC909 sucks because the patterns move in Sync??? But are you serious??

Did he say it was because of the war.. he did complete user’s requests for Auv3… then the war broke out.. what would you like added? I would like a more dynamic global key/scale transpose..

BTW.. selecting scales in Node (Global) is difficult.. to select..

Must be in sync.. that’s the whole point..
