🤣 Okay that was random lol.

LOL, I don’t even care at this point.
Logic Pro for iPad and Drambo do 90% of the stuff I need to do, the rest is just a ‘bonus’ :sunglasses:

  • @mjm1138 Could you please update the title of your thread to include the subject (Logic Pro)? Thanks!

Ah, I didn't notice that... When browsing Home and getting the latest topics from all the sections combined, it wasn't super obvious to me but at least I see where to look now in case I have to check something in the future. Thanks, though!

  • I am having an issue with stuck notes and always need to reload the project. No panic button... is there another way to get this fixed?

Midi Panic is just Double-Tap on the Stop button away, works the same on both iPad and Mac.

Are you using any particular plug-ins that are more prone to stuck notes than others?

Oh, I was not aware of that, thanks for letting me know!
So far, the stuck notes were mostly happening with DRC. Not sure why...

DRC still has its share of 'issues' which could explain it.
If you find a repeatable pattern to get stuck please do report it to Imaginando so they can have a look at it.

I have experienced some random stuck notes with DRC (regardless of host) at times but not I can't find a 100% repeatable pattern to reproduce them. (I suspect something is fishy with note-allocation after max polyphony has been reached and/or note-off handling under some conditions).

I have another synth app (Square Synth 2) that behaved in somewhat similar way with stuck notes (in all hosts) but the developer fixed it some time ago...

    Cheers!

I find the behaviour here is a bit broken - if I start playback again the notes that were stuck resume playing.

What I’ve found more reliable is to enable the MIDI monitor at in the control bar, which you can also double tap on to kill the stuck notes, but in this instance they don’t seem to resume upon playback.

I’ve found the stuck note behaviour occurs for all my AUv3 instruments when I tap in the timeline header to immediately trigger playback from a different location while playback is already active (I’ve reported this to Apple so fingers crossed it gets fixed).

I have a really hard time to reproduce that :(

The 'logic' here would be that since the playhead is moved elsewhere the note-off to the already playing notes is never sent?!

I'd love to see 'midi catch' in the iPad version when starting the playback in the middle of a midi-event with longer notes and this would most likely also remedy the issue you're experiencing as Logic would have to track back to see what needs to be playing from the play-head location onwards.

We'll have to wait and see...

    Looks like a HUGE list

There was also an iOS & iPadOS update for Logic Remote today… I’m thinking LP on macOS may soon follow.

UPDATE: Yes, both Logic Pro and GarageBand on macOS were updated.

Looks like Logic Pro for Mac now includes Sample Alchemy and Beat Breaker as well as the new "Mastering Assistant" that just showed up in LP4i. ETA: The release notes for Mac Logic 10.8 are also huge, with a lot of the same improvements: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT203718

The iPad update is huge, looks like it will solve a ton of annoying little problems, and should put to rest any idea that the product is "abandoned". Clearly the Logic Pro team has been hard at work. That said, a lot of the big ticket improvements (UI for Sampler, full Alchemy, etc) are not here yet.

It does look like work has been done on both the Mac and iPad side to "improve AUv3 stability" in various situations, so hopefully a lot of plugin woes will be solved. Can't wait to kick the tires!

  • It took a bit of poking about to find the mastering assistant. You go to the mixer and press the + “Setup” button and you can then enable it on the stereo out channel.
First impressions are that it’s very good.

  • I’m feeling lightheaded. This and BAM in the same morning!

  • The stage manager support is great, it goes full screen on an external monitor now, woo!

  • take care
after updating many of my projects don`t open, they crash
    mostly with loops from Garageband…

  • Record live into Quick Sampler to create instruments and drum kits using the built-in microphone or any connected audio device.

This alone could be huge, especially if you can trigger it with midi.

  • This might sort out my issues with cross platform
    Mac/ipad projects. Will test later.

It is now possible to save a user-defined default preset for each plug-in.

Looks like Sample Alchemy and Beat Breaker in Mac Logic are identical to the iPad versions. UIs for e.g. ES2 on iPad are still a mess, but I suspect we'll be waiting until next year to see any improvements there.

  • not recognizing MixBox ?

  • Can we now use "Logic Remote" ? Is there any experience or information?

Logic Remote release notes don't mention iPad Logic compatibility, I honestly would not hold my breath on that ever happening.

I tried it with my iPhone 14 Pro Max / iPad Pro 12`9
    NOT working/recognizing

  • Lot of fixes but not automation recording from AUv3.

  • When is the update released, I am in UK and the update option isn’t there yet.

Genuinely curious: is that something that's even possible with an AUv3? Are there DAWs that do it?
