I’ve just realised I need to update to iPadOS 17 before I can update

Isn't the issue only with AUv3 that don't implement the features Logic requires? My understanding is that Logic Pro (like Auria Pro) requires the plugins to provide information about the control touches and not just the automation values). If that is the case, it may be that Apple view the issue as something the plugin developers need to implement rather than a bug.
We still have plugins like Tal Uno where you cannot save patches on iPad Logic pro
What AUV3's are you trying to automate?
Some AUv3's UIs do not transmit AU Parameter changes when tweaking the UI (Fractal Bits is one) but they can be automated by drawing the automation data.
There are some AUv3's that do not properly signal the host when knobs/controllers changes their values.
If it's only apps from one developer that do not work then that is the source of the problem...
The KB-1 keyboard still won’t record into LP ☹️
Hmm. KB-1 now that's one crashy AUv3 I've not used in ages...
Have you set the AUv3 Midi Plug-Into 'record from here'?
You do know that Logic's built-in keyboard can be set to MPE mode to control plug-ins that need MPE input?
The built in keyboard is a bit crap for MPE though. The pitch doesn’t slide smoothly between notes and it can’t send vertical slide messsages, only aftertouch. So when you release a note the parameter immediately jumps back.
I reported the KBD-1 problem from the email link on the website but didn’t get a reply. I guess if more people do he might do something.
VelocityKeyboard works from day one.
AUv3 resizing is still twitching and barely working for many JUCE plugins?! 🧐
A Tasty Pixel, BeepStreet, FF, IceGear, Brambos, Chow, ApeSoft, Cem, FAC, etc. plugins are working fine. 🤩
Even JUCE plug-ins can be made to work with a bit of effort, I'm on beta for one that scales quite nicely.
Older OpenGL based Plug-Ins (Poison 202 being one) are quite sluggish to zoom and I don't know howe much can be done about them since Metal is the preferred way to do things over the deprecated OpenGL ES libraries which are no longer being updated...
Yes I set the ‘record from here’. The Logic built-in keyboard is OK, but I just prefer KB-1. Oh well
I report every issue to the dev, but never get a reply. Occasionally things get fixed, it’s frustrating because it’s a wonderful piece of kit when things are working fine.
Chow using JUCE and having one of the best resizing UI out there, I completely agree with you, it’s not about JUCE alone.
Agreed, the mastering assistant sounds great.
Midi Export… Nice..
Oh wow, I missed that.
Wow, looks interesting

I've not tried it yet, but at first glance this looks like Apple is dipping their toes into an "A.I." assistant in a very practical way. And I believe I theorized a while ago that this could be added to their offerings for Logic.
Mastering is an art, but one which CAN be automated. It'll continue to get more and more intelligent for users until it's a genuine partner for musicians trying to create something listenable. It currently costs a lot of time or money to get great results and it shouldn't.
...OK, I just tried it on desktop using the Mastering assistant. It is really good. This is going to drastically affect how I master now.
So much promise. As strong effort, but the crashiness is a problem.
Great presenter… Thanks..
I have tried these so far
WORKS
Ruismaker noir
Pure acid
Moog model D
Hilda
Lowtones
Tal-u-no-lx
DONT WORK
Hammerhead
Monoke
Spacecraft
Viking synth
SampleWiz2
Retro piano
Synthmaster one
Sunrizer
Koala sampler
Interesting mix of apps and what’s funny is that some apps one one developer work while some don’t.
I’ll add Poison-202 to the list but I have no higher hopes of older apps getting fixed.
…and since there’s no official requirement list for how an AUv3 plug-in is supposed to behave it’s going to get tricky…
They’re not going to get the “Innovation Achievement Award” for this one, but at least they did something and it doesn’t look exactly like the one below. Understandably omitted from change log.
Lol good eye.
can resize to iphone resolutions in stage manager…no doubt iphone version is coming
