Yeah Ricky is king .. incredibly talented, incredibly modest. Huge respect to him.
One thing I love about his vids is the background music. I think he mentioned before that it’s composed by him (or a lot of it is) but it adds a whole lot to the atmosphere of his videos. They’re usually very laidback and relaxing because of that.
After reading the ep-133 threads at Mod Wiggler and Elektronauts, pages of problems, I cancelled my order at TE. I don't think I've ever witnessed such a clusterfk of a rollout. Does anyone remember a new product release that was this broken before?
Are there really that many broken units? For every bad review I end up seeing at least 1-2 other good ones but some of the bad ones have been pretty bad. I’m definitely holding out on even considering it until I see where things go. I think TE will get it sorted though.
Yeah I'm going to wait until TE get it sorted and then reconsider. What's coming up now is the unit wiping the memory, not turning on, a speaker with low volume, other bugs. I've never seen this many problems with any new gear that I can recall. I don't need problems. I don't really need another sampler anyway, I have Koala.
I feel you there. I’m currently saving up for a 404 first anyway so I’m in no rush. But I do think it’s a cool device so i genuinely hope it gets sorted. And for the sake of the many people that have already bought it.
Korg Electribe 2 ... both HW and SW problems (very high input/output noise level on some devices, pads stopping react until pushed VERY hard, firmware freezing during playback, wrong envelope retriggering for very fast envelopes, etc etc) Also Korg never fixed any sw issue, they released few minor updates and then abandoned it (except of pads, that's why they released new blue/red models with improved pads with better sensitivity, when copared to OG grey/black ). Ironically, even through they didn't updated firmware for years, they still are selling it and people are still buying it.
Had OG grey model, literally all issues i mentioned above were present on it ..
Yeah, the Electribe 2 release was definitely pretty bad. Took me three units to get a good one, only to realize that 24 voice polyphony limit was a deal breaker anyway for me.
Korg! Of course. The original ESX and EMX are beautiful machines (with issues). The Electribe 2 is a downgrade, imo.
They had so much potential and I loved the new form factor, but just too crippled in too many ways (for me).

You should have been around when Audio Damage was selling Eurorack. They never fixed the problems; left their customers out hundreds of dollars.
Still loving my EMX 😃
This. I had a grey one with issues with the pads and envelopes as well. I love the Electribe series but that was not a good follow up. I’d recommend the app over that version any day.
New firmware was released yesterday
getting back into that action:

Recorded groove to OP-1F Tape and messed around with KO•][ fx during recording:
A PO-35 Speak or 32 tonic version would be more my thing. I’d find one of those quite easy to add to a Xmas list!
I thought some people might appreciate some of the back story of how the PO-13 came to be:
@echoopera Great!
And thanks for being the first one to post your K.O.II music here. On page 20 of the thread 😉
New app for KO.

Free to download, $14.99 one-time for restore/back-up functionality 👍
That's actually not that bad innit. I honestly wish TE would release a file management app for the OP-1 Field, but alas. I may actually invest in the KO-II in this case.
The quick guide to all the shortcuts are dead handy too, especially if you don't use your EP–133 K.O. II on a regular basis. I purchased the EP–1320 Medieval as a partner to the K.O. II, as I love the workflow of so much (plus, I really dig the built sample ROM content on the Medieval).
The whole 'field' philosophy of Teenage Engineering kit is something I love dearly. It breaks me out of my DAW-centric world, so a simple phone app providing sample IO was an instant purchase.
Looks like a magic eye picture to me , I’m sure I can see a giraffe
Does it also support export samples from the backup?
Are the backups compatible with the official web app?
Would gladly pay for this functionality.
The app does a full backup of the device atm. In other words it backs up the entire thing as a “proprietary *.pak” backup inside the app itself.
Sample management is on the roadmap as well but so far it backs up the entire Ko II and it restores the entire backup.
It’s pretty awesome an indie dev made something for a TE device like this . (It should work for 1320 theoretically too.)
(Now we need the op1F app!)
I'd love if someone made an iOS app that support MTP for the OP-1F and XY.
Yes +1
It actually should be Op1F/XY compatible I should’ve said*
Thank you! I would love to use my ep133 to sample all kinds off gear and off load to the iPad.
I will buy it to support the the developer.
