That would be a nice holiday gift, I hope your source is right.
If this is true, man, it'll add even more value to the OP-1 Field.
Yeah, the update will concern drums according to a hint dropped by an insider.
Mmm... snippet nuggets
humm ... I never met anyone, including me, who's wife saved them a fortune. Diverted a fortune to "other" uses yes, but actually saved?? I've never seen it work that way. 😂
My wife does regularly "save" me tons of money by buying herself clothes and shoes on sale though. I return the favor by all the money I "save" us when apps go on sale. At this rate we'll be rich in no time.
This is grand 🤣🤣
Ah yeah? But can it sample on the fly and slice via MIDI?
I was imagining a situation where I route audio into one of the tracks in D with Flexi capturing the audio but the first hurdle was already insurmountable. Recording sync to pattern doesn’t record in time. The audio of D’s own metronome is way off with a big gap between the start loop position and the first metronome tick.
I also wish there was a way to slice the recorded material via MIDI so individual slices can be triggered almost immediately after the capture. > @wim said:
…and the beat goes on
Thanks for posting that. I have hopes the update deals with drum sample fades.
Yes haha, having been married once long ago and currently being single, I have to agree with you that being single is a hell of a lot cheaper loool
Nice. I’ll be ready to order 2024 , so it’ll ship with whateve firmware is new. Exciting TE news, and so many of us are into it (most anyway lol)
Also they make such a damn good pair. IMO, an iPad and an OP-1 is the best setup I’ve ever had and I say that having owned well over 100 HW synths and drum machines, samples, etc over my time in the game. Those 2 together had me doing things and creating in ways I’d never have thought to before. That’s the main reason I want the Field. It just makes you more creative by default. Easily one of the all time great pieces of hardware for my money.
😂😂😂😂 my wife is pretty good with saving but she’s also REALLY good at buying stuff on Amazon. “Huh another package in the mail I see” 😂
But I can’t say anything with my app and music spending. We balance each other out though. Hopefully we’ll be rich like you guys eventually
Well I'm not sure my inevitable OP-1 Field purchase will make me more creative by default. That's definitely subjective. But I expect I'll have some modicum of fun learning the ins and outs of the OP-1 Field while making some midrange cack in the process. Who knows, maybe I can jam with it during my piano gigs. 🤷♂️
It will make me creative by default, I assure you of thAt (aka , my wife’s boot heel will make sure I stay VERY creative for $2,250 after tax etc )
if this was already pasted here then sorry but for me some important details from Ricky - if you ask me, pretty major drawbacks ..
Was wondering if he was gonna make a vid about it. Definitely gonna give it a watch. He’s one of my favorite synth YouTubers and one of the few that doesn’t make me wanna rip my hair out some times 😃
Hope you feel happy ‘if” it now has some drawbacks (that can be fixed with firmware upates)…
what's your problem ?
I've bought, used and then sold several OG OP-1s. I would always end up using Ipad apps more than the OP-1 and it would end up being just a glorified midi controller. The OP-1F came out and added some enticing enhancements but ultimately not $1000 worth of enhancements:)
My conclusion is that the OP-1 Field is Korg Gadget minus the ability to utilize Rex files.
Very nice.
Haven’t needed to.
I’ll give it a try at some point soonish.
I haven’t had any issues with using Flex to record sync to pattern.
Just tried it.
Except for inherent system latency it does the job.
Isn’t that what the Sampler key press mode is for?
Thanks, it’s getting there.
Have you watched this yet btw @jwmmakerofmusic? This will give you some baked lolz for shizzle
That episode was hilarious. Love his channel!
Does this send audio and midi over usb c? Has anyone tried?
Only Midi over USB. No audio as of now.
Got it. Thanks. Have they announced any plans to do this? Not the end of the world I suppose since it has audio in.
Not any problem with you specifically (you’re a great guy here on Audiobus forum), but, the problem seems to be that some companies, likes TE, have some public “hate” that other companies don’t seems to have, albeit problem with some products…
It’s a pity that some companies got some malicious, etc etc etc…
Sure, Teenage Engineering makes some very expensive products, but, they can be just as fun as an new Yamaha Genos V2 for $6000 (my dreamkeyboard just now)…
Lol! Dang, I watched it not-high. 😂 I love his channel.
I need to check out the key press mode, I’ve only played with it on release and completely forgot it’s even there. 🙄
