I'm also interested in the difference in sound.
Also, do the spring reverb emulations sound similar?
Definitely not similar reverb. GSi's is described as lo-fi, bit wonky, but apparently is true to the dev's particular device.
Again underlining how different Space echo units have their own sound at varying stages of machine- and tape decay etc.
Outer Space's reverb is subjectively "better" in my mind, its smoother and more springy.
Don’t forget to automate the touch and drop buttons for some real whackiness
RE1 doesn't work for me since updating iPadOS, so will buy this. I probably would have anyway though.
Yes 👍👍 was just thinking this is a very playable delay. Got it a few minutes ago and I’m already in dub heaven.
I’m a tape delay addict already but this is by far my favorite wow/flutter implementation👏
Here is my tutorial for Outer Space 2.
Merry Christmas everyone 🎄😊
Sorry for that little dent on the AppStore BUY button, I must have pressed a little too hard.
Finally it’s here, instabuy.
Really excited to put this one to work. Have a long flight in my future that will involve some dub techno excursions.
That Christmas impulse buy !
“I’m gonna send him to outer space to find another race”
I can’t help myself, but those lyrics run through my mind whenever I see this plugin. 😳😂
Thanks @Icoustik!
dito😂
Oh man, I had this song in my mind
I’m just getting a blocked in your country on copyright grounds message.
Spaceman by Babylon zoo
original is chase the devil. classical
Tune!
Breathtakingly good! I’m already there, deep in outer space! 🤩✨🛸🪐
This has more controls than the GS-201, almost like its desktop version. I refunded the latter because the hiss couldn't be turned down, so hard to A-B. Both these sound better than RE1 if memory serves me correctly, Outer Space being the most fun because it has more midi controls.
In what way do they sound better than RE-1? If you haven't used RE-1 in a while, I'd be interested to know if you still feel there is a significant difference in sound quality.
Totally subjective, I just remember that RE-1 disappointed me. It might be because it was the first digital version of the unit i tried. With Outer Space I instantly fell into a 30 minute dub session, where the GSi variant kept my initial interest for even shorter at first try.
With fx apps that require little learning I refund pretty fast, lastly with FF Pro-R 2 after a-b-ing with its predecessor for five minutes. More functions, but the same character isn't worth 40 EUR to me.
Ah right, I remember that.
I’ve also had issues with beloved RE1. There were a couple TestFlight updates a month or so ago, but haven’t been pushed out to public build, no did they fix the bugs I was having with it.
Sent the dev a note about it. If RE1 is on the back burner for now, might have to pick this up.
Anyone with RE1 and have picked this up already… got any feedback on real world differences?
Yep. I don’t have RE-1 but Outer Space kept my attention for most of the day. I opened up tons of MiRack patches and switched my tape delays to it and the results were beautiful.
Interesting video on the original Roland unit:
when you can get your hands on a original unit, or another good analog gear, see what happens when you push them hard.
that's still something very hard to get on spot itb.
This is my first space-echo tape effect, since I’m a very firm Binson echorec fan. But I haven’t found a binson emulation on iOS that I love, yet.
I just did a once around on outerspace & really like it.
I haven’t found the setting where you can jangle the springs. It’s mentioned in the manual, but I don’t see it in settings…have y’all found it?
Finding them is hard, but apparently it’s just as hard to find the right kind of tape to replace worn tape if you already have one.
