Arturia V collection 8 only $59.99 US ONLY

    https://www.proaudiostar.com/arturia-v-collection-8-software-instrument-bundle-software-plug-in-download.html

Damn that’s cheap. You get up to date versions of everything that overlaps with V collection X apart from the odd plugin that got an update such as CS80. Most of it is identical.

are You sure that this store is legit?

I bought my monitor diffusers from Pro Audio Star 👍

They certainly make interesting devices, most of the M4L devices work well on the Push 3 standalone.

Yes they are, I bought my Apollo x8, my jbl monitors, and my x32 rack from them.

That just looks like Arturia is blowing out old licenses so that people get in as an upgrade path. Probably a great deal if someone is looking for that. I’m not as I don’t use a ton of synths and I have too many synth plugins anyway because I can’t help myself…

    Yeah, smart by Arturia 💭
I use a new synth on every song these days, so I’m slowly using everything I got (iPad, MacBook and hardware)

Looks like the same “90% off deals” from every other vendor.

I almost bought a uad 3 plugin bundle this morning from ua, but realized I was trying to find things to fill it, rather than having an issue I need to address with a new tool.

  • @mrufino1 didnt know that these sales were everywhere/prevalent... at least you have the willpower to be discriminating and not treat plugins as pokemon. :)

  • Louder Than Liftoff's Silver Bullet is back on sale for $30, only 'til tomorrow it seems, exceptionally good tool, go grab it ;)

  • I saw that KORG is having a sale on desktop stuff

Believe me, I have no lack of plugins. I’m trying hard right now to avoid buying things just because they are a deal, but I’m not always strong enough. I’m trying to wait until I have an issue that nothing I have will fix, then look for the right tool to solve that issue. But, I’ve filled and emptied my uad cart quite a few times in the past 2 months. Emptying it has ultimately won. But then I’ve been getting guitar pedals, so the addiction just switches focus I guess.

Everyone seems to be advertising “90% off” though, and it’s 90% off of prices that are never the real price anymore. Some of the plugins were $300 years ago but are now regularly $29-$49.

Still, if there is something you need, then those prices are good.

I have been thinking about this too, FOMO: Fear Of Missing Out, some of these plugins are “always” on sale with MSRP being 5% of their shelf life. Marketers appear to be playing on our FOMO, taking strong products and offering them at reasonable prices with MSRP hovering us, but in reality the MSRP is hardly the reality. Waves is always on sale, Arturia offers their Collections at a fraction of the price several instances yearly. The Elephant in the Room is: do you need what you are buying? For me, I have found myself with new tools because of sales. Very few of my buys have been useless, I force myself to use them in a song immediately - but overlap is definitely a thing, although the importance of UI and presets are often discounted: some plugins are easier to get results from than others and that makes them inspiring because of it.

Perhaps we should demo more desktop options before biting at every deal?

Most definitely. People really need to get wise to these kind of pricing systems. Nobody really needs or has the time to use hundreds or thousands of plugins. If ppl want to support devs, that's fine, that's great actually, but a lot of people are spending money they really don't have, because app buying can be every bit as addictive as substance abuse type addiction. Consequences might not be as bad, in most cases, but still...

    Great point about addiction!
This appears to be a slippery slope: even the biggest plugin companies are still tiny compared to even midsized companies in business. I love supporting developers even when I may not use my latest purchase as often, so I can help support their next creation that I will use. Music making is not exactly a cash cow, although imagine our world without music. Maybe THIS is what we are doing without realizing it: keeping great developers doing what they do best 🙌 when we buy into their sales. It’s like we are investors.
