What about the following apps. Does it worth the (discounted) price ?

    • Biotek2
    • MYTH

MYTH is fantastic. All the Dawesome synths are awesome IMO. Kult is my favourite. I'd recommend trying the demo versions first to see if they are to your taste. One man's medicine and all that... ;-)

  • @cuscolima biotek 2 was 129.00 now 77.40

    myth has the same discount

I personally have Novum, Kult, and Myth. While they have the same Dawsome design philosophy and are sort of similar I love em all for their differences and great sound.

Biotek I don’t have, but it has any number of accolades and has been around for years.

  • @klownshed @audiblevideo thanks guys, I will try the generous demo of Myth. Can it be compared to Pigments?

It’s different. Myth is a resynthesis based synth and Pigments is more general purpose, with many different types of synthesis. Myth is more of a tweak parameters that you don't understand until you get something cool kind of synth. Pigments is more for traditional style programming. Both are great. I don't have Myth yet, but have used the demo a lot. I personally like Myth for dirty/uneasy sounds. Pigments is "nice". I don't always like "nice" lol. Pigments is capable of pretty much anything if you want though and is very deep. Myth has a ton of character. Kult has even more.

I still prefer Kult as Kult is capable of instantly filthy, gnarly sounds I like and is more different to all the other synths I have and is my goto for a specific kind of sound, which nothing else I have gets close to.

I don't think you can go wrong with any Dawesome synth if you like the sounds they make. They're set up to be very easy to tweak to get completely new sounds from with the minimum of fuss and programming expertise required.

Pigments is great but if you want to programme it you need to know what you're doing to get good results whereas with Myth, you can experiment more freely as without needing to know what you're doing which can be a blast. At least that's my impression.

I have pigments but use it a loss less than I thought I would... I use Kult a lot more than I thought I would.

Envy sounds like it could be another synth in the series as well...

Is reason still on a subscription model, @SirMcp? (Unless I'm mistaken and it never has, but that's what I remember seeing!)

    Thanks. 🙏🏻

I own a lite version of it and really enjoy their chord progression sequencer.

  • Intro price for rock guitar sequencer by rob papen: ($65 and will rise to $79)

    https://www.robpapen.com/PowerChord-features.html

12 single solo guitar model sounds being PowerChord. PowerChord Drop-D tuning, PowerChord Drop-A, Grunge PowerChord, RG PowerChord (Distortion sound of RG), and PowerNote (single notes).

I wish it had more classic rock models. I am kind of exhausted with Drop D, grunge and other modern tones.

Sorry for the late reply. Reason is the software, Reason + is the subscription.

Any idea if they still require you to renew them annually if you get these bundles? I couldn’t tell. They make some good stuff but I detest their licensing model.

Only getting 1 license is stingy beyond belief. If you want to use a laptop as well as your desktop computer you’d better pay Waves a healthy stash of protection money or they’ll yank your second license. And break your kneecaps. One of those might not be true.

In either case, Waves can do one.

I haven’t used waves in a few years and haven’t suffered any ill effects. Plenty of other companies out there, all with their own pros and cons. For me the cons outweigh the pros with waves.

  • Can confirm yanked licenses on my laptop. :s
