No need to idolize a device. It's only an object and with the quality on elektron, second hand means as good as new. But if you have money to burn, go ahead 😎
I've had quality issues in the past with Elektron gear, some pretty bad ones that ruined my relationship with them for a long time (I used to be on their alpha/beta test team and run their forums). These days I definitely want the full warranty when buying anything Elektron. Love their gear, but it's not faultless.
i must be lucky, i have an oT2 digitone digitakt… never had any problems
The same. Owned numerous elektron boxes, including 4x Digitakts. No issues whatsoever. Gear straight from a figher jet.
Yep, I had a few issues in DT and DN too, after the warranty expired. Not too serious but unfortunate, looking at the prices asked.
I put together a 10 minute session video in which I walk thru the process of building a little groove on the DT][ and sample in a couple pads from the OP-1Field, and noodle with effects and filters and LFOs...to hopefully make something which is soft and easy on the ears for you on this loverly Friday.
As always, many thanks for watching. Please subscribe if you enjoy the vibes or let me know what you think on YouTube.
Cheers!

Out of curiosity, is anyone else experiencing the POPS like you hear in the video from the Grid Slices. No amount of ATTACK adjustment gets rid of it. Am I missing a setting somewhere? @dendy
@echoopera no idea, hinestly i don’t use grid at all and with default one shot mode didn’t eperienced such issue..
i got other issue - after enabling external input it started doing lots of loud pops (louder than yours), even without connecting anything into input jacks - it was completely random, a bit similiar like pops of geiger counter lol
but it looks like it is some issue related to that given project cause creating new project solved it
do you havw latest firmware ? They released one update shoerly after DT2 release
Thanks. Yeah I’m running the latest firmware. Someone recommended that i switch the Envelope Retrigger to OFF, in the AMP and this might help with the popping on Grid based samples.
I think there are still a few bugs they’re working through…so i am sure they will be fixed.
Let’s hope for some major software updates during SuperBooth this week 👊🏼🎚️
nothing worse than clicks and pops when you don't want them. My number one pet peeve with synths and samplers. usually it's either voice stealing or digital envelopes DSP.
Yeah. Happens to a lot of rev1 software. It’ll be fixed.
With the OP-1 it’s been happening for 12 years 😆
I think turning Retrigger Envelope to Off is working:
ok, returning my DT2 :-( .. or to be precise for repair or for switching for fixed one … so will be momth or two without it ..
here examole of my issue:
Oh no. The DT hardware story continues
I know it's the DT2 thread, but have any of you considered getting a Torso T1 (or another hardware sequencer) instead or in addition? This thing seems perfect for the use with an iPad and/or integrating another box + iPad into one workflow.
0 problems here from my DT II.
I barely touch anything else from I have it. Only the DT II and the piano.
well it's first time i have some issue with Elektron device (A4 mk1, Octatrack MK2, Digitone, Syntakt, Dikitaky OG - no single one issue EVER), so i guess statistically just i got bad luck .. they will replace or fix it so no problem .. it's just that for some time i am forced to go back to iPad with music making Probably time to put some love into Drambo
Best addition to Elektron gear is another Elektron gear lol :-D
Jokes apart, seriously - during recent years i tried all kinds of various pieces of hardware added to by base elektorn setup just to realise that's it's always best to have simplistic elektron-only setup ))
But of course that is extremism / fundamentalism :-))) Torso is for sure interesting device.
And my guess with the bugs about the DT II is that the Thomann "leak" about the discontinued OG DT force the timeline.
Who knows... definitely possible .. anyway it's not big deal, it just happens that electronic is sometimes faulty ..
It's really hard for me to justify hardware because I've adapted to the comfort of making music in bed, while working out (exercise bike) or taking a shit. Introducing hardware, even Torso and make my sequences depend on it would end those comforts unless e.g. Torso would make a software twin version with interchangeable presets.
I'm hoping for something like this, that someone makes a good sequencer in hardware and AUv3 for the best of both worlds.
Sorry for your DT2 loss btw.
FWIW, I got confirmation of the Popping Attack issue on the DT ][, so hopefully it will be fixed soon. In the meantime, enjoy the vibe:
Hi, I'm preparing some midi presets for my ios synths 👌 where could I share them (other than on this thread) ?
Just wanted to let know my issue is solved Elektron released firmware update 1.01A which is targeting EXACTLY this issue ..
Cool, thanks!
Aside from the Sample Pops (which is a bug) I am enjoying the process of making music on the DT][:
Whelp, I cannot copy ANY sample to my +Drive on the D2. I head over to the Elektronauts forum and sure enough...it's a problem. Lots of people having this sort of issue. Hopefully they get the Transfer app and +Drive stabilized soon.
Anybody else with this problem?
You guys are making me glad I decided to wait a bit this time around.
I had this issue with nested folders. I think it can only go 1 deep on the DT2. When i cleaned up my nested folders, my samples transferred over just fine.
Not issue in my case... i copied my entire sample library without issues and i have lots of subfolders and subsubfolders, maybe up to level 7-8 ... it was just horribly slow, it took hours to copy 2 GB of samples.. i have shitloads of small files, single shots and mostly single cycles, maybe problem is with long files / loops ?
Try not copy everything at once but one filder after other .. or it doesn't work even for single sample ?
