@Froggo_Lab How’s it going?
Hi, everything is going well. We figured out how to store file bookmarks instead of copying them into the app, as is commonly done in most other iOS samplers (This is because Apple doesn’t give apps proper access to the file system, and all apps run in isolated sandboxes for security reasons). However, it turned out to be more complicated than we thought, and we still need to make sure that users’ old projects won’t break after our changes. Unfortunately, we didn’t manage to finish it in the fall, but we’re actively continuing to work on this feature for an upcoming update. After that, we’ll focus on adding the audio recording feature. Thanks for your interest in the process!
I feel ios buyers are becoming a bit antsy for updates as of late, the sentiment seems to be that devs are promising things and not delivering. Maybe summer break was too fun.
I love the look of it. The SoundTestRoom video was enticing. I bought it. It seems to run ok in AUM, but it crashes Logic Pro iPad every time. I couldn’t find it stated anywhere that it shouldn’t run in LP-iPad, but it doesn’t. I’m running iPadOS 18.2. There is a recent iPadOS upgrade to 18.2.1, but I haven’t been able to update yet. @Froggo_Lab
Edit: I've upgraded to 18.2.1 and it still crashes.
Thank you for the report. We'll try to reproduce this crash on our devices and work on fixing it.
I just deleted and re-downloaded Async Sampler. I'm getting a different msg in LP-iPad now: "Failed to load Audio Unit "Async Sampler", please contact the manufacturer for an updated version or further assistance.".
Thank you! Unfortunately, we did not encounter this crash on our devices. Perhaps we need to find a device similar to yours with an Apple Silicon CPU.
Any news?
Not yet, but we are still looking for this iPad in our city
@motmeister
Hi! We have submitted a new version to the App Store. Could you please update it and check if it works on your device?
First update in 9 months and it doesn’t appear to address any of the issues raised. Not even a mention. At some point you loose all faith, have to write it off and walk away from the company, disappointed, never to return. Such a shame. Had some potential 😔
No change. I deleted it from the iPad and downloaded again. Same results in logic pro for ipad. Simply doesn't load.
Hi! We understand your frustration, and appreciate your patience. This is just a small update — others are still in progress. We are a really small company (just one person), and sometimes it’s hard to estimate how long it will take to fix certain problems. Thank you
Thank you, but on our iPad with the M2 chip, it works well after update. What iOS and Logic Pro version do you have now? (You already told me the versions in a PM, but maybe something has changed)
Ios 18.2.1, logic pro for ipad 2.1. BTW my pro is an M1, not an M2.
Still no progress on Async Sampler's failure to load in Logic Pro for iPad on the 12.9 M1 Pro?
Good news on this! We found an iPad Pro with an M1 chip in our city and were able to reproduce your issue. We’re working on a fix
FABULOUS!
Any news yet?
We fixed an issue with Logic Pro on the iPad Pro M1 (hopefully, it works on our side). Today or tomorrow, we need to test it on other DAWs, and if everything is fine, we can release a new version
Thx.
A new version 1.0.5 is available now, could you check it, please?
I rebooted the iPad, made sure I had the updated app, opened Logic Pro for iPad, started a new Midi instrument pointing to Async Sampler, and got: "Audio Unit Extension quit. The Audio Unit Extension has quit unexpectedly. Tap Reload to reload the extension, or tap Disable to disable the extension and continue." I selected Reload. The same message repeated as long as I selected Reload. I deleted the app, rebooted the iPad, re-downloaded the app, and now it loads. Thanks for your hard work.
Thank you so much for helping test this!
