  • Awesome and don't forget to alter that review you wrote about missing AuV3😂 ... and even if you didn't, encourage them anyway with some nice words...and some ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

  • We can dream this returns as AUv3!

  • Strange release date for something so anticipated, but props to Korg 🙌

  • you'd be utterly surprised at how many of my older Gadget-based songs from years ago all used an iM1 bass guitar as the underpinning and invariant bass sound underneath whatever else was afoot

This is huge! Couldn’t help toying around with it very quickly with two of its classic presets inside of Zenbeats, silly me…😁.

  • Thanks Korg - we love you!

Question - how many here have the original Korg M1 as hardware still in the collection?
I do - but, haven’t use it since Korg iM1 was released years ago…
Perhaps time to power it up, change battery and redownload the Sysex to restore the original patches…

  • Oh mah gaaaaaawd

  • Very cool. Been holding off buying this forever because no AUv3…. Definitely getting it now.

  • In Korg We Trust

  • Got to be honest, I initially thought this has to be an April Fools Day joke, I’m so pleased it’s not.

  • Be aware that the original M1 and it's neighbouring Korg AI and AI2 synths up to about the 01/W [1] were 16 bit but at 31.25 kHz – I don’t know what sample rate the waves are on iM1 for iOS

[1] the rumour is that when the meeting for the follow-up to the M1 was held, the (non-Japanese) marketing sat on one side of a table and the Korg management sat on the other side and the marketing people pushed a piece of paper with M10 across the table, the Korg people didn't turn it around and saw 01W on the paper (story is probably bullshit)

  • Not to nitpick but weren’t there a lot more expansion cards in the old version? Or am I confusing this with iWavestation?

No need to worry honestly, It is after all a 'replica' of the original M1.
They most likely use the original M1 ROMs and if it sounds good it's all that really matters right? :sunglasses:
(variable sample-rates based on the sounds frequency content was standard practice back then to save memory).

27 cards including T1. Finally I get to use it in my workflow !!!!

Now I just need wavestation, fairlight and d50 for AuV3 :)

There are quite a few that are IAP, so you maybe need to restore the purchases if you’ve reinstalled it

  • Low CPU hunger! Awesome for my old iPad Pros!

Ah, there they are. Thanks, mate!

  • Anyone else noticed that state saving doesn't work in AUM? When re-loading a project it always defaults to the Universe patch for me...

    Report it here...
    https://support.korguser.net/hc/en-us

It's another 'rush release' without proper beta-testing from Korg...

  • Wonder how it’ll work in GarageBand… I know I’m pretty much the only IOS GB user here but this is tempting me SO bad right now

Should work as well as any AUv3 (presets not recalling was a 'user malfunction' on my part, double tap to load the preset is needed, after that it's properly recalled).

State saving has worked fine for me so far in AUM

Did you tap twice on the preset name to load it.

Just tried that and it works, I didn't know you had to tap twice to load a preset. Never come across that before...

Never mind, apparently 'user error', I have to double-tap to load the preset so leaving the preset-browser open and browsing for preset doesn't actually load anything even though you play and record with the selected sound...

I quite like that it works like that. You can try out different presets and if nothings better just return to your original one.
