Sweet! Thanks for the news @offbrands.
You know you can make a sleek workspace in LP too?! 😉
Military aviation controlled by midi. What could possibly go wrong?
Actually the more I look at that image, it's the lack of cupholders that puts me off.
Can anyone confirm if they patched this by removing iCloud sample support? Or is it still in there?
This is one of those features I look for in sample based apps
iCloud support was only ever partially working in the beta (on my device anyway) - a Battalion sample folder was created in iCloud, but the corresponding iCloud preset folder never appeared for me. It was shortly after that, that UA changed direction and decided to restructure the preset system and maybe iCloud functionality as well.
Ah ok. Do you know if the auv3 stores the samples within its save state?
I wish I’d had more time to get involved with the beta!
Sorry I'm not sure about sample saving. I have a vague memory of it being discussed in one of the Battalion beta threads but can't be sure.
Isn't the beta link still live? Think you could still join it
Awesome! Thanks.
I really wish this was still on iPhone.
If anyone hears me, would love to have folders for the user samples! Or "kits" I can load all at the same time.
And yes to folders for User Patches!
Is MIDI out implemented in the ios version?
Also, what's the CPU hit?
Just now catching on that there's no MIDI out (just got the desktop version) and that's kind of a big deal for me. Think I'll wait on the iPad version until that's a thing. Love the sound of it though.
Rightly or wrongly, I get the impression a lot of people have created lots of random voices. With only just over a week to go till the discount ends, what’s put me off committing beyond the beta is the lack of sharing of individual voice presets as well as whole kit presets. So, does anyone have great example voice presets they’re actually very pleased with, the unusual, as well as the clean, and, the hard hitting, or soft hitting, kicks, snares, hihats and glitches?
Just to be clear, I’m not saying, I think there should be a ton more voice patches from the factory, as much as hearing some truly astonishing results that can be dialled into this thing and that separates it from the competition. Personally I haven’t had the time I want recently to play the thing.
Sorry @Overreach - my playing around with Battalion has mostly just been quick jams and exploration. I haven't bothered to save anything. I've found it easy to get sounds that I personally like, and I've enjoyed the sequencer.
My only beef is sample management. In my quick explorations, I haven't seen any way to organize imported samples. I'd probably import a lot of them, but without any organization I'll never use Battalion in that way.
Oh, and the sample and preset naming is super annoying. I hate that there's no indication whatever of the characteristics of either in the names.
I'm very glad to have Battalion though. It probably won't be my main work horse drum app, but it does have a world of possibility for experimenting.
Hi Wim!

Was wondering, for a guy that loves more realistic drum apps for creating like worship songs etc, would Battallion be a good option? I read it could load real drum samples but I've been using Drum Session amd Rock Drummer a lot. But this app really intrigues me. I wonder if it would be a good choice or save my credits for perhaps an update from the creator of Rock Drummer? Thanks

One-Shot is the king for realistic drums. It doesn't have a sequencer though. I use it with Octachron and sometimes AutoFills for sequencing.
Pop Drummer is coming from Lumbeats, and it will be AUv3. I think that's the one I'd save up for for your use-case.
Battalion is great, but I'd put it more in the category of apps for people that love to experiment than I would for bread and butter pop/rock song builders.
On the other hand, I would love to hear some Battalion made worship tracks, haha. I’m sure the big man upstairs appreciates all genres!
True. Except for disco for some reason. 🤷🏼♂️
Sorry, but untrue.
I can vouch for the Big Man and he is a HUGE FAN of Donna Summer! Like, skipping out onto the dance floor just from the first swirling notes of "Last Dance!"
Just get out of the way. He can MOVE THAT BODY!
Love it

Yes, downloaded the Testflight and this is Amazing! I mean, you can make creative worship songs for reals! Have no idea what music genre it would fall under but, I got lost in the factory presets! Some beats were already getting me really inspired! Lol
That randomize button in the Perform screen is No Joke!
Set at 2-6 percent, you get some really usable variations!
Was quite surprised how well it's running in my iPad 5th gen workhorse. Wow, seriously this app is deep stuff for creative drumming!
No worries @wim that’s really useful feedback. I’ve enjoyed it when I have used it but haven’t had the time to go very deep. It dawned on me that I think I’d read a lot about people hitting the randomisation buttons but also that you rarely hear the results, no one saying, listen to this kick sound I’ve just made it’s the best kick I’ve heard etc. Nor too much about dialing in either the classic drum voices or the more unusual synthetics. I suppose I’m going to get it, because it looks so comprehensive, I was just hoping to load or hear some hard evidence to tip me over. As has been said elsewhere, the demo projects are just ok and nothing yet as stood out very far. Also think it would be good to have such a strong knowledgeable community more actively use the export/import functionality the devs spend so much time crafting. As I’m sure it would help educate those of us learning new techniques every week.
Oh wow! Can't wait to hear some sound demos of this new one!
And variation can be modulated per-step via the VAR lane in the sequencer, even if you don't use that per-voice global Variation control, and Variation can be modulated too.
😂
