I grabbed it, and am so glad I did. Odd thing about the size tho- my iPad hadn’t but a GB at best, but One Shot squeezed itself in and sounds absolutely incredible.
Does changing the pitch in OneShot maintain the sample’s original duration or does pitching up speed up playback and pitching down slow down playback?
I remember reading about the issue somewhere… I keep getting “corrupted slots” when opening custom kits. Seems like it can’t find the samples. Loading the slot gain works.
I bought the Unholy expansion pack and I really like it but I would like more variety. So I guess I need to turn to third party vendor. I am looking for a pop/synthwave kit and a 80s hard rock kit.
What terminology should I be looking for ?
Anybody as bought third party kits that dropped easily in One Shot ?
I haven't seen any third party kits of Oneshot! yet at all, if you find something let us know.
I don’t expect anybody to make kit specifically for One Shot. But what should we look for in a third party ?
Good question - this is a very specific and unique aftermarket “kit” to locate. That’s why I realized why unholy drums was worth it in the end but it could’ve used a bit more variation in presets .
Drum Drops kits are top shelf. I use their stuff for my Ableton kits and they sound wonderful. I haven't tried dropping them into One Shot yet, but I don't see why they wouldn't work.

Also everything is 50% off right now if you use their Black Friday code.
Pitch speeds up and slows down playback.
Thanks @wim.
I made a drum kit with my custom samples but every time I open it from my saved presets it tells me that slots are currupted.

Truly amazing.
Thinking of grabbing this while on sale. How’s it on CPU? I’m on a 10th Gen ipad A14
I was tempted to spend the money for One Shot when it was released and I've been tempted even more since there's a sale... but I have so many drum options already I finally decided it would be something I'd end up never using.
Quite hungry, but acceptable (for me).
iPad Air M1 2022, Loopy Pro, empty project, 48kHz, 64 samples, running transport, CPU meter:
Octachron: 2-3%
Octachron + Ting: 20-22%
Octachron + OneShot (70' kit): 19-21%
Octachron + 2x OneShot (70', Mallet): 36-39%
Octachron + Digistix2: 6-8%
Ipad 9.
256 sample rate and triggered from an external midi controller.
2 x oneshot to gain 14 outputs for fx ( I will message to see if they can add the correct amount of outputs )
14 punchlab.
A bass synth like Dagger and hopefully Marianna sometimes.
Other Drambo modules like Euclidean per track.
Perhaps sometimes playbeat 4 ( x 2 ) To sequence the 14 tracks.
Its all I need the ipad to achieve.
Drums and bass.
I bought the Forest pack ( havent checked it yet )
Would buy the jazz and unholy drums for half price.
Thanks a lot! What if you only have a lot loaded with say 5-6 slots/pads loaded and the rest empty or not loaded? Does cpu drop a bit lower than 20%?
Nope. I deleted all slots except the first one in the kit and CPU consumption is roughly the same.

I think I remember that removing OneShot internal FX helped quite a bit with OneShot.
Very good point @wim! I tried to set off all FX one by one on Rattle Drum Kit preset and I found main CPU eater: BUS 1 Room.
After switching it off CPU decreased to 11-13%. Impact of all other FX to CPU is negligible.
Thanks. Final question before buying. Are there some decent kits for hip-hop/trip hip type music? I think I’ve heard a few on some videos - but if anybody can comment on that it’d be much appreciated.
So far I've made two kits with Oneshot and they work great for about an hour or so but when I try to load the kit again, files are corrupted according to Oneshot. However deleting the file is a pain because it may or may not respond. I just deleted the kits.
In regards to the sample locations nothing changed.
Right now I just make kits with kicks, snares, hats and a few samples. Since every user kit is temporary no point going all out. I still like the app though.
Definitely contact the devs if you haven't, as should anyone else who's run into this problem, that definitely shouldn't be happening
I did. Waiting for a reply
Now that it’s been out for a while: what does OneShot have that DC, Logic, FAC Drumkit, Digistix 2, and the Lumbeat drummers don’t have? Is it better/deeper sampling?
It's a far more capable app for creating multi-layered drum kits.
(I'm not including Logic in that statement since I've never tried it.)
It doesn't do sampling. It isn't a drum synth. It's just a very deep sample based app for detailed drum kits. It has advanced sound shaping, choking, and FX per hit. It's also very flexible as far as assigning notes to hits. Lots of good drum kits included as well.
FAC is single velocity layer and also more geared toward synthesis rather than sample playback. Drum Computer is similar in that synthesis respect though more complicated (IMO). It has a built-in sequencer though. Digistix 2 comes the closest, though it's limited to five layers per hit.
OneShot is a bit heavy on CPU with some of the FX enabled.
My best suggestion if you really want to understand what it does is to take a look at the manual. I don't mean that as an "RTFM". I really do think it's the best way to grasp the app's potential to see if it's something you need.
First, there’s no sequencer.
Basically it’s the absolute best sounding multi-sample (ie velocity switching) drum sampler on iOS.
It’s desktop shovelware so the ui and touch interface really suck on iPad, but the method to map instruments to notes is pretty quick and there’s lots of little details in the sample handling that are primarily relevant for drums/percussion.
So… If play drums into a sequence or make extensive use of velocity dynamics it’s a no brainer.
If you just do basic xox drum sequencing with at most 2 levels of velocity (normal+accent) it’s overkill and you’d be better served by Sintala.
