  • The best thing about Splat to Clat is the range of Hip hop and RNB beats that are included - really easy just to drop something in to a project.

The way the velocity layers and round-robin work together is one of the best features of OneShot. I don’t know of any other app, desktop or iOS, that has this kind of implementation. It’s usually one or the other.

AudioLayer certainly does (use velocity layers and round robin simultaneously). Been using it exclusively for finger drumming with kits off of Drumdrops for almost a year

However, I there's major hurdles in getting it setup... Until you learn the ropes. It's NOT beginner friendly. And no midilearn as a plugin (I believe stand alone does, but I don't use much outside of Loopy)

Decent Sampler I BELIVE has both implemented the same way, but that's only been a few weeks of use as I've been looking for more deeper setup finger drumming kits

AudioLayer: most kits I purchased thru drum drops has approx 30 velocity layers for most Main Used pieces (hats open, closed, snare) kicks are 25-30

Not sure about round robin numbers, but the velocity layers are visible on audiolayers main screen

However, OneShot is the most comprehensive, all in one, ready to roll setup for this process I've ever seen. And almost 200 kits built-in of all varying nature.... It's mind-blowing for my exact needs. This hits ALL on the head

Not sure your finger drumming setup ( I never bothered ) and to use myself again.

Would have to actually buy a longer usb cable plus another stand ( even though the launchpad is already on the same stand ) The stand cant be moved from desk.

    Dont have a pic.

Basically an art type saddle and launchpad x on an angled Gravity ( brand ) Speaker stand.

Id obviously make a pic if I were entertaining finger drumming

and away from usual setup position ( the launchpad )

  • I guess the art stool is just similar height to a drum throne.

The gravtity stand faces away and downward.

Not sure if it were angled enough.

To celebrate this release, we're not only offering a temporary price reduction on the app itself, but also the opportunity to get all our packs (or just a few) at a 50% discount!
Use the code P0PWk6VR at checkout
Purchases of packs are made on klevgrand.com, then loaded into OneShot on your iPad (see the manual for details). Offer available until 2024-09-30

When reaching the store, it says macOS/Windows, with no mention of iOS. Do we need to wait or will it work?

Answering myself when you buy it you have an iOS versions available !

Yep. Have OneShot open when you download the packs. One click and they import.

Do you happen to know if they’re the same as either the Windows (files called OneShot_Jazz_Kit_Pack) or Mac versions (*,dmg files)? Thanks!

Totally. Super risky to use AI to generate answers like this unless you know the answer well enough yourself to check its veracity. I rarely got any quality info from AI about questions related to iOS music production in my tests. Often its info was wrong or very outdated.

    Here dude.

    Took apart desk.

The art or drum stool isnt need unless you also have an additional box or just find a lower seat but the Gravity speaker stand is solid like if made of one piece.

Agreed. AI generated answers without validation can be very misleading in this type of use case.

Seriously, I cannot believe how perfect this app is for me

Hell, as of now (an update for those completely captivated and awaiting updates with my auditioning ive mentioned a few times 😅🙄), I'm thru auditioning of 4 of the 9 included packs

Unfortunately the presets are not visible outside of the plugin (that I've seen) when used as auv3

So what I'm doing is going preset by preset, and if it hits right, I make a auv3 preset with the name and move to the next

The 4 packs totals like 70ish sets (74 of memory serves?). And there's less than 20 I've NOT saved

I have found 51 kits here so far, that I've had to force stop myself from playing to move on

Ive NEVER had this many presets that make me go 'Ooooh fk yeah!' and just coming up with patterns (I considered synths 'great' if theres even half the presets that give me interest... And that's only been... Electric Vintage, pure Upright and pure piano? And those have tiny amounts of presets comparatively. 'good' synths would have 25-30% 'usable' presets (since I could edit whatever off of those)

And so many new styles for new inspiration that I have never touched or considered...... I'll be using the fk outta them!

And my wallet is so happy to not have me constantly eyeing up new kits on Drumdrops

I'm super excited for new finger drummers to have this available from the jump

Jesus, between this and an SMC-Pad controller... That's a ~$70 ($20 for app, ~$50 for controller) for a full blown mobile finger drumming setup. Just gotta have an iPad or iPhone [edit: whoops, iPad only]

I started learning on the SMC-Pad (pads are slightly lower quality, stiffer than preferred but absolutely usable with a little practice to get a feel), and only dropped it when I got Launchpad X. But when camera is in hand, I'll absolutely be doing videos about this and mobile finger drumming

Edit: hopefully I can try the Drumdrops import in a bit, and if so, I'll absolutely post results. Just not sure what life has planned for the day, and any time I start a new test on something.... I end up needing double if not triple the assumed time allotted. It's a big joke between the missus and myself. It's the "[my last name] curse" as it effects my dad and oldest son the same way xD

and away from usual setup position ( the launchpad )

I'm fully mobile with no permanent recording spot (I live in a madhouse, can't trust equipment out for any amount of time unattended xD)

My launchpad is in a modded case that it never has to leave. It flips open, the top folds back and ive dremeled out the outside of the case opposite the USBC port on the LPX, so I can open, plug and play. Unplug, put wire in netting under top of case, close done

And a MidiBluetooth adapter and 10k battery are in there too, so I can open, plug into LPX, and plug the end into the "bottom" of the case (dremeled a small hole close to the batter), connect it all together inside, and the whole beast is wireless

For HOW I use it, it's either on table, lap, or-- a snare stand, minus the snare arms on the top (just a solid base and thick pole... Giggity) with a Mic Stand Tray I got a while back for the LP to sit on. Whew that things solid as a rock! Want a tablet holder for the iPad to hook on top, but the one I just got is like 1cm too small to wrap around the stand! Oh well, will figure something out xD

Question (haven’t really dig deep yet in OneShot! more then I could feel the quality of this app):

What is that black bar on top of the app in standalone mode?
Why doesn’t Klevgrand use that area to the GUI?

    Reminder:

Do we have any answer on this?

Klevgränd, why have you choosen to not take the whole screen estate to the OneShot app??

  • Thank you all for the replies!!!

  • How could I come across as un- appreciative of app ( although not bought )

When Iv just gained a cool way to control swams.

Whilst also gaining an 88 key piano for pianoteq. Piano/e-piano. Launchpad for steel drums etc.

And have been practicing over jazz loops anyway.

Its just where I havent used these in a while ( so forgot )

Um, just a heads up, all 9 preset packs are included. There are 4 or 5 additional kits available on the Klevgrand site from $10-$40 a piece (like that juicy juicy jazz kit. *drools in lust*), but the 190+ kits I'm talking about are aaaaallllllll included. No iap's listed
