There are 4 arps, a different one for each of the 4 sound layers, just be sure you are making changes to the arp tied to the actual sound layer you are using
Yes, I set up a test that only had one layer and a simple key sound. Pressed the keyboard and cycled through each arp pattern. I could only tell the change with the random and All setting. All th other 4 pattern choices sound exactly the same, with no changes between them
Really enjoying this awesome app!
Yeah, finally bought an AudioModern pack while they’re on sale. Really cool 😎 making your own instruments. Easy to export to my other installs too. Wish I could figure out why the arp patterns sound the same. Most certainly user error/confusion though
Checking the picture you posted just noticed you have the pattern mode enabled, try setting to off
Aw man can't believe I missed the packs on sale. Used up almost my whole budget for all the other apps. It's definitely worth it for sure!
Yes, that was for sure causing a conflict, but I think it’s the fact that I’m only pressing one key at a time. I had arp features on keyboard apps before where I could hear the arp pattern with just one key pressed, but it looks like with the Soundbox you have to have a chord pressed, or at least more than one key to hear the various pattern options. I can hear the different patterns if I’m pressing more than one key, or an actual chord.
Curious what the difference is between round robin layers on the left of screen and the sample layers on the right side. Both can be set to random and behave the same, but I’m sure there must be more differences?
For those of you that have Soundbox, Do you know what IOS reverb could achieve the beautiful lush Reverbs in the "Opacity" sound pack?
My daughter blessed me with a gift card to buy the Cosmo Soundbox pack!
It's 3.6 gigs but every time I try to download the pack it fails almost halfway thru 😔
I'm going to run out of my monthly cell data allotment if it keeps happening.
@Synthi is there a way to allow Soundbox to be able to pause downloads in the event that the download fails due to internet hiccup? I'd really appreciate it. I hope ot doesn't take so much coding.
Especially for folks like me that do not have home internet. 😒
@Tones4Christ I was only getting one so that I could unlock the main app and use my own samples. Have to say… for $14 it’s worth it.
I couldn’t decide which one. I’m more into weird video soundtrack stuff and not so much into “music”, so I almost got the Morphia one, but went with Kromium. Kinda wanted the Voxmotive one too… since it’s all nice vocal stuff. Thought it’d sound cool through a bunch of crazy effects. Looks like they’re all still on sale though… thinking about picking up just one more between Morphia or Voxmotive. Cosmo is cool, but that sounded more geared toward more music application and less for cinematic soundtrack stuff.
Also, there are a few free packs out there that are very good as well. The free one I got from @Synthi for drones/atmosphere is excellent, and I think he sells some too.
In case you didn’t already know this… all of the sound packs for Soundbox can be imported into each other, ie. If you buy a sound pack for iPad your can also import it into the desktop install of Soundbox and visa versa.
Do you have any links to free ones? I already got the drones atmosphere one and it's amazing!
I really loved the Guitars one called Opacity. But I didn't have enough credits only the gift card my daughter gifted me to get the app and she really liked the Cosmo pack so I got that one. It's huge but it doesn't download on my hotspot data. I really wish it had a pause system to allow for reconnecting if there's a Internet hickup.
@Tones4Christ No links… I’ve just seen them here and there then download. Just google search Soundbox packs and I’m sure you’ll find some. Try searching YouTube as well. Cosmo is good, but I don’t really make anything like “music”. Everything I play with is soundscape/soundtrack sorts of stuff. The ONLY reason I got into any of this is because I had trouble finding stuff for my visual art stuff and YouTube kept flagging it as copyright protected… no matter how obscure the sound was… so, I decided to try and figure out how to make the stuff I needed myself. So, don’t take my advice for anything related to actual tune stuff
Awesome 👍 thanks for the suggestions ☺️
Will definitely look for them.
Wait, just re-read. So if I import the Sound pack into the desktop version it will unlock it?
Unfortunately, no. I asked the dev this before I bought. However, I figured I’d most likely use the iPad anyway for importing in my own samples, then export out an instrument from the iPad to import and use in the desktop install.
Not ideal, but acceptable for the lower cost.
I’m sorry I don’t know if it’s possible to pause downloads … I’m not involved with audiomodern, just a user and sound designer.
But I feel your pain, now I have decent internet at home, but I live in a remote area in the Patagonia forest and suffered slooooow speeds for years.
I’ve been working for almost one year in some novelty soundbox libraries , recording editing, mastering my electro acoustic experiments, Modulars, analog synths…. so I hope to release them soon, including another free one!
So glad I saw this app mentioned in the Cinematic thread! Super stoked about it.... For one...turns out I already own it! :P And I love that it runs on macOS as well, so I can totally author instruments there where my main sample library is and then export them for use on the iPad. So freaking cool and will be a big help when I finally play out someday (possibly without a computer). I also love that each individual sample layer can be poly or legato. That is something I've only noticed in Izotope's Iris 2 and it can be used to interesting effect. Logic's Alchemy, my main sampler, only allows global setting of legato for all layers at once. Great to find it here! And ultimately, when they finally push out enough updates it should fully support MPE which would be incredible.
Only wish I didn't need to put on old man glasses to use this thing! :P
That's a critique they've must have heard from so many users and still they do nothing, arrogant or bold I dunno.

Anyway, in Playbeat4 you get an option to increase font-size and it does wonders (could be even more but it's a start)
Here are a few links to free packs:

@Pxlhg , SoundBox has the font size options (if you can see then 😊) on the right hand side of the Settings screen…
This track makes heavy use of Voxmotive + some Kromium and Spectra
That’s nice! Still toying with getting Voxmotive too. And, I completely missed those font settings. Don’t really need a full 20% increase, but 10% is very welcome. Thx 🙏
Thanks @GeoTony and @Pxlhg for the font size setting location tip! Oh and "A terrible miscalculation of scale" is lovely
Darn eyes, I did check at least two times before posting. My sincere apologies to AudioModern then, they have listened. And, thanks Tony
Great addition.
Never got into soundbox because of the expansions. This new update allows you to use the chord generator with your synths bypassing the samples and drive space.
I believe Doug’s video covers it.. but I was feeding Autony to Soundbox and feeding electric to soundbox and the chord generator was working pretty well. A nice time to revisit soundbox if the sample size was a turnoff.
Just released this cute instrument, free for a limited time!

Thanks 🙏🏻!
