A quick AUM play. Solderbox and mostly Bram Bos apps
Just checking in because the JH video appeared in my YT feed. Awesome job guys. Love the MacOS compatibility too.
Damn Bram, you're good at this stuff. 🥳
What about if nothing changed til you removed your finger? That would be a better workaround I reckon
Yes, I think I tried that, but I don't remember anymore why I didn't settle on it. Let me try that again and see if it works or if there was a reason it didn't work.![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
Thanks!!!
Nice one!
I meant for being able to see the modulation outputs, not audio outputs. I wanna see my waveforms from Surgeon, for example.
Ahh that reminds me I gotta get Scatterbrain and Perforator to complete my collection 😂
It all started with Ripplemaker for me… still my wife’s favorite synth app along with Poison 202 !
Hammerhead is one of the best drum programs out there, id add that to your collection !
Has anyone tested this in Logic for macOS, latest OS on M1 mini? Validates ok? Half of the iOS apps that I have installed on desktop that are advertised to run on macOS, seem to fail Logic’s launch validation.
Works in standalone on same? All good?
I mentioned this earlier in the thread - works fine on my M1 Mini, except the randomiser doesn’t work. Doesn’t launch at all on my Intel MBP. Haven’t had a response yet.
Can’t you get those from the multi-out AU and some internal routing? I haven’t had time to test yet, but now I’m curious. Hosted in drambo in my case (which has good scopes built in)
I may have a fix for Macs running on older systems in the upcoming update.
Great stuff, I’ve just ordered a new laptop but it’ll be nice to run it on the old one as well.
Love the way your apps are mapped to MIDI - they work perfectly with my Launchkey.
I was gonna say - missing out on hammerhead and I never really messed with granular until I took the plunge on Fluss and it’s just such a lovely instrument. Play it slowly if you get it. They’re both some of my favorites of his.
My only wish with Hammerhead, and maybe its possible, is that the glitch and mutation were per sample. Glitchy mutated hi hats but the kick is unaffected… but since its auv3… multi instances is a great solution if you can spare the DSP.
Its my go to drum app especially for quick ideas due to its simplicity to operate and get things started.. then in the final stages of finishing a track i go in and tweak all the parameters per sample.. but its so fast to get things rolling that i call it up all the time!
I have fluss and have had a few great lil jams with it, i don’t granular to often personally, but fluss is very fun and inspiring and has a high level of tweak ability, and like most of brams instruments,,. Easy to understand and get things rolling!
@reasOne - I see your thought on Hammerhead, I just never would have thought of that 😅 - I guess if you can’t spare the DSP for multiple AUV3 it would be up to recording and looping or timeline placement.
Just some thoughts as I’ve read a few of these threads whenever an app from Bram drops. This isn’t a response directly to anyone specific, including @reasOne who I’m quoting
TLDR - I enjoy the new Bram drops when they come, and learn to use their functionality and go from there. I often find lack of extra choices comforting and find ways to enjoy the creative tool presented with little to no thought of what to change with the app itself. I guess I like opinionated apps? Maybe I just can’t think outside the box musically yet? Maybe this community is just made up of passionate music app lovers who have been around and have good ideas? (Probably all 3) — This community is cool to have so many ideas and it’s nice that this is part of any release we get from him, and he is active and engages with these threads. Also Bram is 🐐
I must be a simpleton, or at very minimum, very musically just green. I’ve never played with any of Brams apps and wished for anything more or less.
Maybe because my upbringing I’ve often times gravitated towards opinionated apps in my life that have often lack user customization and give you their vision for what they created with very little updates through their lifespan, but welcomed updates upgrading the user experience with well thought out changes, always.
iA Writer for instance drives (some) people mad with their markdown in their editor. You see all the code in markdown and to see it clean you have to use preview function. I just accepted it because the pros of the app were major pros for me. Focused writing (I’m so ADHD the distraction free writing helped me immensely) beautiful self-made (by ia and free on GitHub!) fonts, dark mode way earlier than most, a style check (helping people become better writers). Having to press a hotkey to see the final draft was and still is nothing to me. Yet I would see a lot of pushback on that one thing mostly, a few others.
I rather enjoy and respect Brams style. I know many here do. I’m thankful in this world of apps and developers we have a guy making inventive, well-priced, consistently maintained, highly reliable, and, above all, very musically approachable apps. You can pick it up and get going with little understanding. That’s such a treat in this music app world, where that isn’t always the case. The apps still recognize iOS is a touch screen too! Which many have left behind.
The collabs have been such a fun part of his catalog of apps too and it’s been a treat to see how Hainbach / Bram would make a tape loops app in Gauss. Seeing Brams influence on Hainbachs ideas, I mean, while still being very Hainbach. Same with Fluss and very much the same with this latest with Jakob. I’m sure many here would agree with that as well!
What I’m saying is that it’s nice he entertains the many posts here with their different thoughts on what to add or make different. The XP4N thread is such a great example of that. Learning to make a completely new app in a new category while taking user input and ideas and implementing a ton of them.. for $1(!!!) - Who else is doing this? Among all the other thing he brings to the iOS music community - Point them to me!
I’m too emotional I would take some of these threads as a personal affront! - We are who we are so it’s good to know who we are? 😅🥲
Kidding (mostly) about myself aside, I’m sure Bram found some balance to it all to be so active in this forum and to take all of this communities thoughts and opinions into consideration if he hadn’t already. That’s the other really great part about his style to add to the pile. I’m sure this community and the many (see many) suggestions makes his apps even better as he continues to make more and gain experience from it. Kudos to all who know what to ask, and to even just ask or bring it up. Again I’m probably just too musically green ( as many here know) to fully grasp what you all are suggesting!
A lot of devs would do well to ape his style/community approach and the way he navigates the variety of avenues in this app development world within apples App Store. I’ve thought about this a bit so forgive the length of the post.
Oh this is sounding nice … some really great possibilities with Solderbox![](https://img.youtube.com/vi/PN0mPysWYhY/0.jpg)

Thanks for the super kind and insightful words! really appreciated![<3 <3](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/heart.png)
Looks like we fixed the issue for people who were experiencing the odd crashing in Garageband... awesome!
Now if I get confirmation of Logic also being ok we can do a quick update!
Thanks!
Cheers 🙏🏽🤘🏽
@brambos I just reported on Testflight that Solderbox has been stable in Logic Pro since the update. Thanks!
Most excellent! Thanks for looking into it![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
Hear, hear!
And, big +1 on the iA "focus mode". I bought all of the versions, primarily for this feature. I don't understand why it's not more common in writing apps. Absolutely essential for me.
groovy. does it pass initial validation? It's not important, but it's annoying to have to see that message every time for the other so-called macOS compatible iOS apps
Cheers @skiphunt 🙏🏽
I meant that it was stable for me in Logic Pro for iPad but I just installed it on the Mac (M1 Air) to test. The instrument version of Solderbox validated in Logic Pro (Mac) upon launch. The FX version of Solderbox failed validation but passed when I rescanned the plugin.
Really cool. Just picked up. Especially digging it an effect. Is there a way to set wet/dry of solder box when used as an effect?
I bought it earlier this evening and immediately lost about 3 or 4 hours to making weird rhythms and bleeps. This is a lot of fun.
@brambos interesting concept you and Haq came up with here. I like it a lot so far but that’s to be expected from my favorite developer.
