  • Looking fwd to this one like a lot of iOS musicians. We don’t get IOS AU Hosts that often nowadays so getting a new one is great. The workflow will make or break it I guess. I think I prefer the split screen option that Cubasis 3 uses rather than the Logic Pro for iPad sliding widows options. I wonder which one GR 2 uses?
Obviously there’s other workflow paths aswell we will see in due course.

  • One thing for sure, it’ll be extremely fun 😎 (don’t have any inside info, just based on the track record)

  • Funny how I'm pretty excited by this, but it won't help me make better music and in some ways will pretty much be a distraction from the practices that are improving my "workflow" lol

Troof. Let’s make a pact not to read this thread anymore or buy the app. I’ve recently gone from 17/32ths to 19/32ths of completing something, and i wish to keep all of that momentum going.

Yeah get this and those next 2/32nds of progress will be lost in the mists of fun.....

Exactly. Or even worse, i could lose 4/64ths progress.

We've probably lost 8/128ths since talking such utter crap on this thread alone....my calculator estimates I could have had near Bowie status by now if the Internet had never come into being!

  • For me personally, nothing of value was gained or lost from reading the last few replies. 😂 I'm in between music productions.

  • Jim just does things different to everyone else. I love all his apps. Can’t wait to get this one.
I’m guessing it probably won’t be iPhone but secretly hoping it will be like his other apps.

I think there was a comment on YouTube that’s it’s iPad only, I hope it will be iPhone as well eventually.

  • I’m kind of hoping that it’s substantially different from GR1. I love Grooveboxes but never got on with that one.

:D surgically sharp insight here, it hurt to read

I say let this thread die…the only thread with the title of this app in it I want to see will have the word “Released” At the end of it. lol

Agreed. Brilliant all around. I don’t have an m1/m2 device so I wasn’t going to risk it anyway, but this solidified it.

When I upgrade I’ll support Jim then and pick it up, Pure Acid opened up music for me in a way few apps have and I would love to see this one through when it’s worth using on system that can actually run it well

I think GR1 was essentially an Electribe2 'like' clone and this one looks to leverage the goodness of touch/ipad etc.

Yeah it was a bit too rigidly tied to the E2…for example reverb only being available as MFX not IFX. I‘m grateful for the parts where Jim strayed from the E2 architecture such as the probability and retriggers in the sequence editor

  • I wonder what the drum machine structure will be like & whether or not it will have randomisation, probability, automation and all the rest of it.

I hope so, and the Groove Quantize feature also.. this is where the magic of GR1 shines..

Edit.. don’t think any other iOS DAW does Groove Quantize..

Ok.. I thought I did see a video of Auria doing it..

And, we can always use GR1’s Auv3 as a drum machine too.. with all these features.. we wait.. and wait..

I just hope it has patterns per part…

  • I can't wait to try out the piano roll. I bet it's going to be silky smooth.
