Tonight, after a bit of a break to recover from a bang on the head, I’m returning to live-streaming. And what could be a more exciting comeback than checking Out What's New in Cubasis 3.7!
https://www.youtube.com/live/ozBNANVhsbM?si=mbpYdai8ynUqiu6T
That would be sweet!
(Groove Agent SE/or IAP - that’s what I also said would be a great move )
Wow man
Cubasis really did it!!!!
Same perfect UI
But all the little changes are there!!
Hopefully 'Cubase Sampler Track' is up next, until then I'm (mostly) all in with LogicPro for iPad
Enjoy the rental!
I will and I've actually 'saved' money on the so called rental instead of having to get a sh*edload of additional apps
You saved?! Well, then, by all means…
.
please add scales to the piano roll, like in korg gadget or desktop cubase.
It's the nature of the beast with orchestral libraries of this sort. What you're hearing isn't a reverb, it's the natural acoustics of the space where the library was recorded - the Faunkhaus in Berlin. Read all about it here: https://www.the-berliner.com/berlin/funkhaus-radio-ddr-iconic-recording-studio-east-berlin/
Ah ok, cheers!
Thank you, Steinberg, for making Sketch Iconica an AU that can be hosted in other DAWs too.
Is it correct that I have to download 2x 1.8GB for Iconica Sketch?
Separately for the stand-alone version and for the Cubasis plugin?
Was there no better solution?
Cubasis for iPhone and iPad can be used with every AU-compatible DAW. And you can also choose to use the AUv3 version within Cubasis. But, if you own Iconcia Sketch for iPhone/iPad and Cubasis, we provide you with an additional Cubasis plug-in version which integrates more smoothly. But you can also decide, not to install it and go for the AUv3 version instead. There is no other way around it, content-wise.
Best,
Lars
Hi all,
We're glad to read all the nice feedbacks and are very impressed by the excellent YouTube reviews from @thesoundtestroom @Jamie_Mallender Nu-Trix The Synth Guy and Lanewood Studios!
Thanks,
Lars
We LOVE you Lars
How’s the cpu of the AU version of Sketch - there’s a comment on Doug’s vid, where a guy says he can’t get it working on an iPad Air 3 in AUM..
And do not miss checking out Jade Starr's YouTube review as well!
cool, how big is the iconica sketch app with all those orchestral samples?
1.8gb for AU only, 3.6gb with Cubasis integration
I paid for the AUv3 version of Iconica Sketch, and am able to load it as an AUv3, but I don't see an additional bespoke Cubasis version of Iconica Sketch. I'm running the latest version of Cubasis.
Any idea what the problem might be?
After I fell back asleep, I woke up thinking this was a dream. I'm glad for time signature and tempo changes, don't get me wrong, but I think the thing I'm most excited about is indeed Iconica! I'm genuinely blown away by these orchestral sounds. Much better than the "KAPro Tutti Orchestra 1" patch in Module Pro, which is my goto patch for anything related to orchestral strings (except Mellotron strings when making a Disco banger).
And Iconica fits in nicely with my SMK-25 (which has a mod wheel ribbon controller). The crescendos and decrescendos sound natural rather than a simple "volume up, volume down" sort of thing that sounds rather unnatural. Not sure how else to describe that.
So yes, I think I will switch from Nanostudio 2 to Cubasis 3 for the next project or two at least. Each new project is loaded with a basic piano sound, so I can sketch things out easily before moving into full orchestration.
So, a huge "thank you" to @LFS and the team at Steinberg!
“Bang on the head”? Ouch.. Hope you’re ok, Jamie !

@LFS and @Samu : Yeah I forgot about Sampler Track .. Plug-in delay compensation,Groove Agent and Sampler track .. and maybe some form of clip launching like there is on Cubase 14? That’s what we need .. And a chord track ..Demanding customer here , I know ..
Shouldn’t be too long until the next major Logic Oro for iPad update now though; and who knows what they’ve got up their sleeve ?
Hi @jonmoore
Please make sure you've fully installed both Iconica Sketch for iPhone/iPad and Cubasis 3.7.
Once done, please launch Cubasis 3.7 and go to the In-app shop.
There, go to the "Iconica Sketch" entry and install the content.
Right after this you should be able to find "Iconica Sketch" next to the other internal Cubasis instruments, and load it from there.
Does this help resolving your problem?
Best,
Lars
Right? I wouldn’t mind seeing a AU version of HALion as well.
is cubasis ever on sale?
Yes, see the 1st line of the description in the App Store 😊
Does Iconica Sketch have any choirs ? Are they good ?
