Indeed! I had just asked about this. A much needed improvement.

So I fell a bit behind on new apps, wanted to know what is the noise about, and boom! "This app is currently not available in your country or region", has anyone else had this with GR2?

    what region is that?

    Vietnam

It could be just an oversight. You may want to email the developer: jimaudiodsp @ gmail.com

Okay, so it's not just EU trying to make things as uncomfortable to developers as possible.

I am in Vietnam too. Apples appstore have always sucked here, even before the new laws. I use the appstore from my home country, only downside is we cant install the local shopee and vn-id apps 😀

My home country went full USSR, so I don't have that option unfortunately. Looks like I'll never get to use GR2, which is kinda sad, I'm curious after reading all the praise.

  • Probably been answered, but can the piano roll record and edit MPE data?

This is always my million dollar question when I'm looking at a new DAW.

That man is absolute unstoppable machine !! Nailing every possible feedback one by one systematically. As a developer, when i see that amount of work he did since release i am suspicious he is sleeping max 1 hour per day.

    Mad respect !!

  • What’s people’s feeling of this ever becoming an auv3 for use in other hosts? I’m not really gelling with it as a compositional tool but could see use for as a part of a larger whole in Cubasis or Logic. I’ll keep trudging along regardless!

The developer has said there’s no plans to make it an AUv3 plugin. He said that about GR-16 too, then a few years later made it into a plugin. So who knows. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Its been bugging me that Scaler won't print to MIDI properly on my M1 iPad Pro - as mentioned earlier a known issue with Scaler on some iPads. Its seems that Scaler expects 44.1Khz audio for MIDI timing or something and GR2 defaults to 48khz.

I found a workaround using AUM:

    >

Would it be possible to set GR2 to 44.1khz and not have to go through this?

Hoping that Scaler 3 resolves this issue…

There is no 44.1 kHz option in GR2. You can force it by using an audio device like headphones or an audio interface that uses 44.1 kHz - tried it but still had issues getting clean MIDI recording from Scaler 2.

If it’s NOT fixed in Scaler 3 I won’t be buying it.

    I didn’t realise the 44.1khz sample rate setting in GR2 didn’t do anything…

You can’t switch to it on a 48khz iPad. The option is there, but when selected it jumps back to 48khz immediately.

Sorry to hear that. One solution could be to switch your device to the US region, and then buy gift card credits in local phone stores or on lazada. Not ideal i know, but hey..

Yes definitely! What’s the best channel to offer app suggestions ?

  • Odd finding: Set up chordjam as midi fx on first layer, simple pad on second layer. Do the print midi thing. Printed chords appear to have not captured note off, so they run to infinity and their lengths can't be edited. I was able to correct it for chords at the end by shortening them in the Chordjam sequencd, but then it happened to the first chord.

  • It would be nice to be able to have more than 16 slices. I have a few sample chains that feature 32 samples, which are effectively unusable in GR2 at present.

I'd say a quick work-around would be to use two instances of the sampler and chop the file in half for 16 slices each?!

I'm not sure that's possible without a US bank account, plus switching regions is tricky (last time I did it, Apple nuked my Apple Music library, and the support confirmed it was exactly what was supposed to happen).

Well, at least I have Drambo, so while I may want other software, I don't really need other software.

You really want to use all 32 samples? You can use any 16 of them moving the start point of the ones you want

If that's not enough I guess adding other slicer will work or just slap koala on a part and be in sampling heaven again lol

  • One thing to remember about the slices in GRII is that that they don't have to come one after another and can be freely located within the sample allowing once slice to overlap another slice etc.

Interesting - I found similar behavior today on a project that I was using before the 1.06 update a couple of days ago. It was 3 layers with (1) Helium, (2) Synth and (3) Continua. After printing to a clip, and saying "yes" to switch to printed clip, Continua continues to play the last note, even after the clip has been stopped and the main transport is stopped. I can reproduce the issue with the project consistently.

  • Nice updates. This fun as a sampler as well. Still hoping AUs in insert slots. Come on, Jim!

This and more comprehensive midi learning (like on the mixer) are top on my wishlist

I wonder if those apps are sending Note-ON / Velocity zero instead of Note-OFF. That's perfectly "legal" MIDI, but some apps don't always handle it correctly. mfxMonitor or Streambyter would show what exactly is being sent.

Maybe asking to load midi fx on the layers would make more sense? That way it limits the amount of au per part…

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking as well. Definitely need a way to throw Blackhole on every track. 😎
