  • Is this new update safe with old projects? Considering changes to the sequencer… I’ll wait a few days just in case. Everything sounds fantastic, 🤩 I can’t wait for the video part.

What no launchpad pro map? Bummer..

All LPs are somewhat alike. I think there might one single different byte if you’re using sysex (the model)
But send me yours and I’ll sort it for you

Can you change the feedback port for all mappings at once?

I think I must be missing something.

i was not able to use the lp mini mk3 mapping. has someone a tip how to make it work?

    same here.
    LP X works fine though.

I always save my “important” stuff to the drambo cloud folder
But I have never ever had a drambo update (or brta) mess with the files. Always opened last project
YMMV though, so do a backup first? 🤷‍♂️

What’s the best Drambo video series for the most current version? It looks like it’s between Leo at SoundForMore, Doug at thesoundtestroom and Ben Richards.

I think it’s your channel that I’ve seen before, but pretty sure you made a few really good project tutorials on Drambo. I really appreciated that you shared the project files. Also your tutorial on flexi sampler and building a whole song is such a dope way to approach teaching the audience about the app.

If you plan on doing videos let me know! I don’t want to step on anyone’s toes / not sure I could bring anything more to it if you’re going to be giving it a proper go.

(Apologies if I’ve mistaken you for another creator! That would be embarrassing)

Make the vids! That's the best part about this, the more the merrier! Having two tutorials (twoturials?) on similar topics shows two different workflows, will inevitably reach more people (that would only be fed one algorithmically), and could lead to more influence for creatives to stumble across

From what I've seen thus far (especially on LPF and the production vids/creators of whom I've fill my algo) - there's no stepping on toes. You could easily add in a time-saving step that another person covering the same topic may have missed

As well, I tend to go back to og tutorial vids after I have a better grasp of an app - just to see all I missed from my addimitadly ignorant initial viewing (and I tend to learn more!) - having multiple vids pop up just adds to that understanding too!

I greatly appreciate your input here, wouldn't mind having it strewn across yt as well 😀

  • @giku_beepstreet thanks very much for adding functionality around time sigs, poly rhythms and polymeters!

I appreciate the thoughts you’ve shared and for taking the time to share it. Cheers!

Do you make YouTube videos as well? Or am I also trippin here too lol.

Haha you may be full on rolling face for all I know, but I WAS doing vids a bit. Took a back seat (life, ya know?), but still learnding, building, creating... Got quick tutorials I want to record however I'm posting this on break at my 3rd shift restaurant job (most interaction time for me on the forums lol), so asafp for sure

I guess I gotta find the exit row on self imposed projects as well evidently 😅🤷🏻‍♂️

Omg the project ideas I have NOT started (Google keep is almost a decade deep with games(video and board/card)/stories/movies/shows/words/names ideas)

Yaaaaaaay obsessive stimming mixed with constant brain shotgun blasts of thoughts and ideas!!

Hmmm... Maybe I'd have more time in the day if I stop showering and eating....

Doesn’t seem like it. Not natively at least? The clips in Drambo don’t record the necessary parameters though.

I know using an MPE capable AU MIDI Processor works to record playing, like MIDI Tape Recorder or what have you. But it won’t be a native Drambo MPE function. Maybe I’m wrong?

Idk if there’s a public roadmap or if any of the beta people have heard of anything. I imagine the next stretch of testing / work behind the scenes will be for visuals.

When using an instrument rack there’s an MPE switch option in the module settings and enabling the midi output monitor of the track seems to read some of the parameters of MPE but it won’t record it, at least I couldn’t get it to.

Not sure if that was a thing before this update as I don’t use MPE often.

For now the consensus is to use midi tape recorder hosted in drambo

Loopy Pro as an AUv3 plugin can also do excellent MPE recording and playback ... and with many, many more possibilities. It even passes the ultimate test - accurate recording and playback of Animoog Z midi output.

I didn’t know loopy did mpe recording/playback. Gotta get myself learnt…
Animoog has its own flavor of mpe, I understand, but also very good to know. I’ll do some testing, thanks for the heads up

  • Moog’s keyboard, other than geo is where I get my mediocre keyboard skills to shine
I mean there’s no better option on glass, is there?

It does woot! So much fun for Geo/SWAM auditioning

And you can edit standard piano roll as well (sans MPE editing, [yet iirc?]. Haven't tested much but definitely moving notes retains MPE input)

So, one step better than MPE Tape Recorder, unless they've added in editing since I've last looked into it (didn't grab it when free, haven't had enough need to justify purchase since they added a price. Kinda bummed I missed it then, honestly. Haven't really watched it's progress because of that)

Only note data will move though. Pitch bend, expression won’t move and so will be off. I don’t think attempting to edit MPE in Loopy would work out well at all.

You could easily export to Xequence 2 for editing, then import back in though.

(Re:Editing in loopy) Do note length edits stretch retained info? I've done moving, but didn't test length and it's effects

Can you change the feedback port for all mappings at once?

I think I must be missing something.

    Thanks Pedro!

Got it to work this way in the end. There was some weirdness with mappings changing (control types switching, event types becoming CCs instead of Notes), this could have been down to my LP mini or, more likely, user error.

Great fun using Drambo as a Circuit style sequencer!

I tried to edit the mapping file by just doing a search and replace to change it to what my ports are actually called, but that didn’t seem to work.

I’ll do some reading on the link you posted above.
