  • Great app! I couldn't find a swing setting. Am I just missing it or is that not an option? I wish it had choke groups, but maybe that will get added in the future.

There is a swing feature on an X-Y pad in the Master Effects section. There may be another one where you set tempo, I dunno.

  • hit the bottom right arrow, I haven't used it so I don't know what it swings

  • I managed to record it into Audioshare by enabling the record on that, and then going into ED and playing. Sounded ok, but a bit hissy as the external mic kicked in.

  • I also wish E.D. would allow us to save 1 pattern as opposed to a whole song although I guess you could just have one pattern in a song and save that but it's a little less elegant when it comes to organization.. i dunno

why didn't you just export it from E.d ?

  • Thanks, guys. Actually, you know, I will end buying all of them... :(

Probably because I don't know how to! Where's that option?

  • my first post on the forum. elastic drums is the type of thing i'd always hoped for in an app, a really interesting use of the technology and super fun to play with. i can see using this way beyond programming drums, the amount of control you have takes it past a drum synth and into some pretty out there territory

Yeah, agreed. The fact that it is a synthesizer engine with some degree of pitch control means that it crosses over the boundary from "drum machine" to "groovebox" a bit. Even just hitting the randomize feature, you can come up with some patterns that sound like a "bass line", but of course your adjustment of the pitch is done by ear.

I was beating up on SeekBeats a little earlier, but in its defense, SeekBeats does have a larger preset library and there are some kick and tom sounds I know how to get in that app that I haven't figured out with Elastic Drums yet. But that's almost certainly due to my terrible lack of sound design knowledge. This is an excellent app.

  • Welcome @french_custard and look forward to hearing more about what you make with this new app...

  • As @StormJH1 said, "Even just hitting the randomize feature, you can come up with some patterns that sound like a "bass line", but of course your adjustment of the pitch is done by ear."

I really want to use ED to come il with crazy basslines and synth rhythms.

Any ideas on the best way/app to use to tune to a particular note? That would be pretty cool. And it's something I've thought about doing with kick drums in other apps like Gadget. Surely 'there's an app for that'. Maybe audiobus the note into midimorphosis and keep tweaking it? But it's not that easy to use. Maybe someone knows a better way?

  • I've used the pitch control on the effects pads to make a bass tune.

Initially I though each channel had it's own 4 pads but now realise they're shared.

  • Anybody got this thing running decent on an iPhone?

On iPod it's not doable, it should say that in the discription; not compatable with iPod.
The stuttering and the clicks and cracking sounds are just too annoying.

I have an iPad too, otherwise I would want my money back.

  • edited December 2014

Works great on my iPhone 5, slightly laggy on the iPad 2 but the pure joy of the results makes up for any issues. If they get AB sorted before Xmas this will have been my best app purchase of the year

  • It runs fine on my iPhone 4S and iPad 4.

  • Thanks guys, so it's an iPod issue. ( I don't have an iPhone)

  • What a great app. A lot of fun tweaking sounds. Unfortunately, I can only work with two of the FX slots on my IPad Air. FX Slot 2 and 4 don't show up. Am I missing something?

No I've got that too, can't seem to get them to appear. They show up fine on the iPhone version though

  • Oh, funny, tried that out on my IPhone, too. Everythings works fine there.

  • @Greg - I have an iPhone 5s, so a fairly fast device. Seemed to work well on that, but I haven't pushed it. I don't have any expectations for my iPad2, it may just be that it won't work all that well on that device, which is fine. I kind of like it as an on-the-go thing.

  • @StormJH1 - It works great on my iPad Air, but on my iPod Touch 5, approximately half of the factory presets stutter.

  • Does anybody have Molten and/or Bleep!BOX? Can somebody give me a comparison please?

i'm not in front of it right now but I think it's under that arrow menu at the bottom right hand corner. (not sure) but it def has the feature.

  • has anybody experienced copying a groove from the first sequence to another but it not sounding the same?

  • ok, this is definitely a serious issue, start the app, go to any of the demos, start a pattern playing, hit randomize all, listen closely and copy that pattern to a new slot, immediately you should hear the patterns sound has noticeably changed. please try this out and confirm it, i can reproduce it.

  • ok so this is happening constantly, I'm kind of surprised that nobody has mentioned this

  • what the heck, even saving a song is making the pattern completely change now.

ok create a pattern, then (while the pattern is playing) go and save the song, name the song and press ok or whatever, immediately you should hear the pattern change and add sounds that you didn't even have in it before.

  • you guys are awfully quiet, this ones going back in the oven.
