Cool. Now planning an exit strategy for my iPad Air, to turn it into hardware with Alchemy, Samplr, Sector, Auria, Gadget, etc. All on it... Updating with caution!
MIDI looks amazing. That it offers real time processing shows how much work went into this. Don't think anyone else is offering this or at least not at this level.
But enough about midi: 6 sends! I'm really curious what "flexible busses" means. Only that you can now hide unused ones? Post bus routing? Send to multiple busses (hope!)?
No mention yet of existing IAPs or how the upgrade discount will work. Think @chrisg has the best working theory: this is an upgrade to the same app. If so, I thibk he also just exposed a new pricing strategy: Set the existing version of your app at 50% and make the next version and IAP.
Flexible busing, from the picture, shows inputs and outputs to each track, so you can subgroup into subgroups. Of course, with 6 aux sends those could be used as buses as well, with varying amounts being able to be sent. Reaper does that with the auxes, but also has folder tracks. Anyway, I can't wait for this.
Edit: from rim's description tracks will be able to route to multiple destinations as well. Awesome!
Automation for tempo and time signature is most, most welcome. Moving from the desktop, I can always freeze/bounce tracks for limited CPU/memory issues on the iPad, but tempo control is one feature that is impossible to really compensate for if it's missing.
And Rim just commented that IAP's will transfer.
Just a little excited for this to arrive.
Thanks, guys. Glad you like it! As far as upgrades, if you're an existing Auria user, you'll be able to upgrade for a discounted price (TBD). The upgrade will be an in-app purchase that shows up in your regular Auria version. Once you upgrade, you'll be able to use all your existing plugins and other purchases. Auria Pro will also read all your Auria projects.
The bussing in Auria Pro will allow you to send audio from any channel to a bus (or multiple busses). This lets you to route that audio to other tracks for further processing. You'll also be able to send the Aux returns to a channel, so you have the full channelstrip and plugins available for your Aux returns.

@WaveMachineLabs good stuff and thanks for coming by to explain the upgrade route etc. Things have been a little tetchy hereabouts for some as regards recent developments and most of that tetch has been associated with a lack of communication more than anything.
This announcement has led to some far more pleasant giddiness, as the promise of Spring should
If you take into account what Auria already does on the audio end, and assuming those new bits will function well, Auria Pro will crush Cubasis like a bug. Of course, Cubasis is likely not done updating either.
The MIDI list is outstanding for a first-time implementation, but take note of items like audio-to-midi and transient slicing ... sheeit!
That's how 'Pro' is done
Game theory says we don't want any crushing, we simply want the bar seriously raised for the other guy(s)...let's hope this is that.

Hot damn! Goodbye Logic? I grew so accustomed to being able to do stuff like the above that I found it difficult to do full on mixing in Auria. Will buy this the second it drops.
@rim any shareable word on instrument IAPs?
@WaveMachineLabs
Thanks for all the fish!
How does the Pro version test on older devices?
A score editor would be welcome. Then it would have everything I need.
I was expecting MIDI and hoping for Twin 2, but this is fantastic. Thank gou @WaveMachineLabs!!!
As a Cubasis user who has always resisted getting Auria for its lack of Midi, this looks very impressive and mighty tempting! May have to get a new iPad though (roll on the iPad Pro!).
Tempo tracks?! Come on Cubasis, catch up!
I'm willing to update to ios 8 for this....epic
Just checked out Fabfilter Twin 2 and it looks to be a very powerful synth - and the desktop version costs something like 3 times the price of Auria! So including it as part of the package looks like a great deal.
I'm not sure if the Fabfilter synth is going to be included for free - it's likely to be an IPA I would think?
(edit) actually, just re-read the email, it says the synth is built-in, that's awesome!
I hope it works well on the Air 2 as it seems that CPU scrolling bug still needs to be addressed.
Fabulous, fabulous update! Auria is already top notch, this will make it even more top notch!
This is my only concern, performance. We'll see.
Is it springtime already? and a very good reason to buy the air pro.........:-)

Probably not an IPA, though I know many people would love that. Not sure how it would be delivered though.
Looks really good, not just for the midi but finally some decent time signature support. I should add though that MultitrackStudio can already do a good number of these new features. Today.

in app IPA, yes, that's a new concept, Rim should definitely consider it.

Doesn't really matter what any other app does if you're an auria user and have been looking forward to flexible routing and the other features.
Rim stated that the live warp feature could get fairly CPU intensive depending on how heavy the usage is. The groove feature might be the cool new tool for me, aside from the sorely needed tempo and time signature functions.
The more I read, the more excited I get. This could finally eliminate Beatmaker2 from my workflow. The only thing I'm concerned about is the sampler interface. I'm all about BM2's MPC-styled controller.
Things that appear to be missing (hope I'm wrong):
No Midi automation (CC automation)
No ability to actually play instruments from the app (Just programming them in the piano roll or playing them with an external keyboard)
Also, a question:
Can the synths and effects that are built-in be used in multiple tracks simultaneously (like normal desktop plugins), or is there a single app at a time limit that we are used to seeing in iOS apps?
@Audiojunkie said:
In Auria you can have multiple instances of the same effect on different tracks. Not sure about the new synth and sampler, but I can't see why it wouldn't be the same.

The image of Fabfilter's synth has a keyboard, so it looks like you could use that to enter notes directly. I can't see anything about automation, but I'd be quite surprised if it wasn't included, given how comprehensive everything else looks.
