Hey, I'm all for every man or woman having their own sensual technician.
So. Auxy. Couple of things:
Undo. Never care about that until it kills you, then you care about it. I care about it now. C'mon. Undo. Even if it's just one step to help the accidental tourists among us.
Couple of other low-level idiocy things (on my part). Help appreciated etc.:
Loop cutting. I've got a four bar loop. Only want the last two bars. Can't seem to figure out a way to copy the back end of a four bar loop and drag it to the front bar(s). If there is, that's great. Otherwise, maybe some kind of 'split' function from out in the loop view?
Recording. I tend to use other sounds, but sometimes have a mixture and am struggling to record/play all at once, so I can take the internal drums (say) and the Thor track I'm recording at the same time. I'm pretty sure I'm just making a snafu here, but I get very stumped with this. Don't care what I record it in, just want to record all at the same time...
Could also be I just need a nap.
@jgy
loop cutting: have you tried this? select the notes to copy, two finger swipe to first bar, long press to paste /
you may have to do this one bar at a time
undo: +1 every app that allows you to make something also needs an undo button.
Recording function would be killer. Song mode to arrange patterns and record function for tweaking controls. I can't do everything I want to in real time. Too slow…
Will give it a try. How I long for delicate fingers (Doctor).....
Maybe two men to the pad (all hands to the pump
?
Perhaps I'm dim, but if I create a track in Auxy using just the Auxy sounds, is there no way to record my audio performance? No Audiobus or IAA, correct?
@Seangarland The top left white square stop turns into red circle record when Auxy is stopped. Once you're done recording you can export wav/open in.
@firejan82 is right, but you aint dumb, no IAA, no AB. Seems an amazing choice and is often an amazingly frustrating one.
Yep, puts me off using it to be honest. I can whip up a quick tune using inbuilt sounds and a couple of MIDI tracks, but not being able to record it all easily is a deal breaker. I don't always have time to setup four apps from scratch, and the time taken to do this, and then configure the tracks for recording in Auria is a real creativity killer, and goes against the 'quick launch' jamming nature of the app.
+1
I have found "Rhythm Necklace" is one of the true hidden gems.
heh
Erm. Need more to go on there pardner.
And any news about AB ? Please
Well...may be I am an idiot, but I can't see any tools/ways of connecting=controlling it with other synths inside ipad...In fact, I just downloaded it for the first time today, and all is looking nice, but where is those "midi out" features ???
After being in love with Auxy, I must admit that it is dead to me now.
The song that I started in May, and was considering for a song of the month submission, is unrecognizable following the update. The built-in drum, pad, and lead sounds that I was using are no longer available. The new sounds, while great in and of themselves, do not reproduce the feel of my song. The midi bass parts are now playing 2 octaves higher than they were, which sounds ridiculous. I don't relish the thought of finding new sounds in other apps and re-entering the bass parts to correct the unwanted transposition.
Sorry to bitch, but did you have to break backwards compatibility, @lenberg?
That's the MIDI export on the left next to the song title(11 hours ago) and the one in the red circle only showed up after I opened up some synth apps that do Midi.

Thanx a lot, firejan! It was not so obvious (without your explanation) to find out that "midi out option" appears only AFTER opening of any synths
)
Damn. Been looking forward to opening Auxy, very taken with the new slide scroll thingie etc., but scared to do so now. Sounds like a dropped bollock. Hard to believe they would replace sounds, rather than just adding....
@TKO My pleasure
@JohnnyGoodyear I think what @thus is referring to is the previous update a month ago. I don't think they changed them again, although I can't be sure.
I appreciate the tapping empty slot stop but I also miss the stops on top of individual tracks. And I will miss them even more once I'll fill all the slots with clips.
You are correct, @firejan82. I did not see today's update.
If you already have Auxy 2.0 or higher and all is well with your songs, @JohnnyGoodyear, you are hopefully okay. I only upgraded from 1.x the other day. It was the jump from 1.x to 2.x that did me in.
Good point...it's another lost feature. Auxy seems to be going down...almost as fast as it came up. And I've been a big supporter of this app from the get-go.
With the latest update, to perform or record a piece that had stops in a track, one must leave an empty slot in each desired column...the white Stop button at the top of each column is gone! So basically we just lost up to 4 slots due to this change...I mean, come on...there's only 10 to begin with!
I accepted (reluctantly), when they took away note velocity and replaced it with a Soft button (so, we went from 127 velocity settings down to 2). But now, an original and needed feature is gone. Auxy is the first pattern sequencer I used, and though I don't use it often, I'd like it to remain as an option for me, however our future together looks shaky.
still a very nice app, and I'm happy they are keeping it simple -- but taking away features? Especially with the velocity, it was an iap, we paid 3€ for it and now it is almost gone
Yes, still lovin' it but I hope the top stops will make a comeback
What could possibly have been the motivation to remove those stops?
Good question. My guess is simplicity but that doesn't feel like a good enough answer.
I gave them feedback that I thought tapping a pattern to play and again to stop made a lot more sense (to me) than tapping to start and then tapping again goes to grid mode while tapping a place away from the pattern to stop play just didn't seem natural.
Tapping the white block was counter-intuitive to me especially when trying to do multiple changes quickly. I'm not so sure the new way is any better.
A way of building a song from patterns and then going back and being able to record controller changes would be awesome and would help in song construction.
There's a lot to like in Auxy and it could be even better with a few additions to its capabilities like AB support.
Interesting to hear from the dev on this...
