I can record audio directly via iCM2+/Asio4All into Cubase. Unfortunately - Midi Sync Receive doesn't work yet in Patterning!

MIDI sync has been tested and works.. are you talking IAA clock?

  • No, I use to sync from Cubase 8 Pro (PC) as master. Works with Genome, Lemur etc. (syncing via iCM2+).

is iCM2 showing up as a MIDI clock source?

  • Yes, I configured for all drum notes, the same way as in other apps. Clock active is shown, but nothing happens when I start Cubase.

  • Ha - I have found the solution: There was another little arrow that led to incoming connections, and I had to choose the iconnect. The sync stumbles at the moment, but that should be an Asio4All issue...

yea it's a tiny little arrow, sorry!

  • Sync is now ok with 128 samples buffer in the Asio4All configuration.

    Got it.

  • Patterning to modular via CCK & focusrite ::: using pitch automation for the synth line.

Got it. But, hey. Is there a simpler way to set all 8 tracks to MIDI on, and all to one output device, with one or two clicks? This is taking MINUTES!

Just had a crash (Air2, latest iOS) when trying to change a sample, and when I reloaded it'd mucked up the pattern - a few of the samples had changed. Completely messed up my song. Bit miffed about this as I had a really good little groove going.

  • Actually it's mucked up the patterns I'd created, changed the samples, and lost two new patterns I'd made. Completely trashed the song I was working on.

  • @monzo can you email me at support @ olympianoiseco so we can dig into it?

  • @icepulse cool good idea. also saving / loading MIDI configs. it's saved with the song at the moment.

I can do, but there's not a lot to tell: I was changing a sample from built in, to another built in and it just closed. No other apps open, not connected to anything. When I opened it again it had lost not just the changes I'd made since closing it before the crash, but from hours earlier. Lost patterns, sample changes - everything.

I've noticed though that newly installed apps can glitch when first installed, and sometimes these clear up after rebooting the iPad, so I'll do this in the morning and let you know if it happens again. I've learned to use the save button regularly now though and not rely on the autosave!

What would be most helpful is if you can get the crash report and send it to me -- email for instructions!

yes faster midi configuration would be top of my wish list too, because it is a lot of fun sending the midi out to other apps

  • Not sure if anyone mentioned yet how this thing works as a Euclidian MIDI sequencer, but I just discovered that and I'm impressed. I bet this thing is an absolute monster controlling a 303!!!

On first run, I am in love. I would add to the chorus for a pattern export in .wav, also would love MIDI note in, to be able to record a noodle on a drum pad and then let loose on the options within the app. One other little request, double-tapping in a note erases it when in note draw mode. Would be a nice way to get rid of a note without switching modes.

Favorite features: really love the draw feature (pitch and probability esp), ingenius handling of quick velocity variation, the rotation feature is bananas. Effects sound wonderful (judt the eq and distortion alone make a ton of great difference). I am already gushing but could go on.

    Very well done...

    Oh my.

  • @syrupcore said:

That's exactly what I'm saying! I didn't see that Pitch Automation switch at first, when I did, my Roland sprang into immediate techno destruction mode.

  • Midi out works great. Its some kind of ..... Rhytm randomizer if you put the circles in move mode and play with the quantitize modes.

  • Has it been confirmed, or can anyone confirm that it is working with ipad mini?
Any limitations i should know about before going for it?

Gangbusters on Mini 2 (1st retina model).

Wondering about mini non retina though

  • Yeah sweet app. I've got drum sequencers up the wazoo, even a couple of euclidean ones but this is one of the most most intuitive that i've used, a lot of fun as well. That modular demo looks sick, i've only used on drums so far but gotta give it a spin with some synths. :)

I'd love it if you could preserve the midi settings when switching presets or just have an option to save the settings.

  • Fantastic app.

I've had two or three sudden crashes when running song mode. Not actually doing anthing in the app, just after making a new arrangement and having a listen. I'd send crash reports if I had any idea how to... Lost the new unsaved work but that's all.

  • Finally had time to have a play.

    It's fab.

    All I can add is:

    • the sync is super solid with Gadget as its slave

    • it seems to send velocity sensitive notes (and clock) out. No midi ccs at all (this would be my big request - it would be great to be able to use its lovely UI to also modulate parameters in your external drum machine/app/synth etc).

    • I understand what the pen echo thing does now. It's brilliant for creating little builds and fills - set it 2 and it will paint in beats (or automation) every other step, set it to 4 and it will be every forth step. Super quick to use on the fly

What I really like is that this app is so quick to use I reckon you could 'play' it live - quickly adding and removing beats and other stuff as it moves round for a nice improv performance (of which you could record the midi or the audio or both).

I need to figure out how mute the internal sounds when using for midi out.

  • edited August 2015

edit: Sorry, had it backwards, the level fader in the mixer section or when you're in the pattern area, go to the little level icon at the top right, can change it from there

  • Yeah midi ccs would be dope! Also mute, i had to turn off the tracks midi out to isolate sounds.

  • Is there a midi only switch? Per track? Or just null it in the mixer like I did?
