  • Couple of questions:
Can’t figure out how to assign different bar length properties to different donuts. I want some donuts to be 2 bars, and some to be 16 or whatever.
I’m sure this is an easy one to answer.

Secondly, and this is the one that I really REALLY hope someone can help me with because at this point I don’t think LP can do what I want sadly; I want to be able to touch a donut and the sample plays and loops . Then, when I press the donut again I want the sample to play TO THE END and then stop. I’m not making beats, nothing is synched, not interested in quantisation….let’s call it musique concrète for argument’s sake.
This is something I’ve always wanted to do in Ableton using my Push but can’t because when I press stop on a clip it stops on the next beat of the bar, rather than continuing until the end of the sample. Please help?!

This is in clip settings and called Play/stop quantization. Set to master, loop or custom.

If you want that behavior but immediate playing set count in quantization to none:

You can set individual loop length in loop recording settings, under count out quantization custom:

Swipe up to reveal the clip details. There’s a slider for the loop length.

    Set Play/Stop quantization to Loop.

This is default behavior, so it makes me think I must be misunderstanding what you want to do.

Sorry, I wasn’t very clear there. Typing in my iPad never goes too well.

As you import an audio clip, if you move the end marker left to shorten the sample so that there is leftover audio at the end, you get a toggle for “Import Outro“.

    Before Trimming:

    After Trimming:

If you don't do this before you import the sample, you can't set the outro to play afterward, even if you shorten the sample and toggle the option to play the outdo.

I believe this is a bug. I reported it during the mad rush at the end of the beta and will bring it up again as @Michael dives into post-release cleanup.

    Clear thanks!

  • Using loopy pro as a AU, if you open the files icon top left then media I’m only seeing the clipboard option greyed out not document picker etc. I assume we lose the document picker option using loopy pro as a AU ?

  • Thanks @Janosax and @wim . Just heading out to work, will have a look this afternoon

as @wim pointed out you can set fixed lengths BUT it is usually much easier to simply use the master cycle length selector and set it on the fly. You can also set up widgets to set the length for you.

you might find this wiki page helpful

The AU's project browser can only see things in the AU's directory...which (due to how iOS works) isn't publicly visible.

Ok cheers for the clarification. @espiegel123

It looks like this got broken at some point...it was working a few weeks ago but seems to have become broken. I am sure it will get fixed...record tail is working and will properly blend the outro it creates when looping and at loop stop.

Awesome. I'll keep playing. Is there a way to stop the master tempo from automatically changing, too? Every time I messed with the loop tempo, it messed with the master BPM.

Gotcha. I was doing drag and drop from Files, not importing.

Awesome! I'll keep an eye, so far I'm absolutely loving it.

Big props for ease of use when idling auv3s. Model D is a CPU assassin, but with 1 click I can easily put it in idle mode and enable it just when I need to record. Breathes new life into my old iPad, and is much more enjoyable than freezing tracks in cubasis.

You might wanna turn on “wait for playback” to prevent the first loop from setting the tempo.

However @Jumpercollins, if you import directly into a loop from the detail screen, you have full access to the Document picker as well as the clipboard and yiur music library.

I never use that Media button.

    @wim Cheers that’s a great idea.

Turnado, usually rock solid, is crashing when I open then close the fx windows—four instances. Have video. Is this thread a good place to report or is there a more centralized method for bug reports?

(Pop-ups don’t like Apple Pencil at all, but that is another matter.)

    Thanks.

  • This is great, I’m only on iPhone but it still easy to work with on the smaller screen.

One question, for recording into the sequencer is there a setting for grouped clips with one loop at a time enabled to all be on the same track?
Or can the individual colours be combined to one track when exporting stems?

  • @Michael A simple question: Could an iPad Battery status placed in screen? This is helpful when jamming :)

  • @Michael said:

Cool cool. I'll need to find that setting. Haha. Also, two more questions (for now):

    1. for the update pricing, if I buy it this year but then update it in 2 years, do I get all 2 years of changes, or only the current year?
    2. Can you offset a loop? I have some bass lines prerecorded that should hit on the offbeat, but I don't have a silent gap in the beginning. Can I set an offset based on steps?

I think a video tutorial on importing will be so helpful to us who are not as interested in ‘looping’.. and more interested in playing back samples… How about Multi outputs?

    Thanks..

  • Nope. Still don't get it @espiegel123 @wim @Janosax .
I'm pressing the donuts and they just start playing the sample from halfway through, or a third of the way. And sometimes they just don't play at all but the background colour goes from ,say, orange to black, but no playback commences (?)

Can confirm LPminimk3 works. Layout of the note and cc numbers for pads are identical to an X, just a different sysex string to kick it into session mode.

so do you have to download a template to get Loopy Pro to sync up everything g to launchkey mini? in other apps like groovebox, it syncs lights and midi map immediately as soon as the app starts up.
but loopy pro doesn’t t do that. i feel like i’m missing something?

Mine won’t start from the beginning of the sample… also.

  • Hmm, even when charger connected, my (iPad Pro 2nd gen) battery drains very fast... Anyone noticed?

  • How do I get a donut to only play it’s sample once rather then continue to loop when I trigger it?

  • @cyberheater
Swipe up on the donut and choose play once from the options instead of loop

If I am understanding what you’re trying to do, maybe set your donut like this:

First, is the charger the original one for the device. Phone chargers provide much less current. Second, check Settings–>Battery to see the apps using power. If you tap on the graph, it will list apps using power in that hour. You may have something running in the background. Might need to restart (Power off then on) to get rid of it.
