iPhone version would be just perfect

That would be welcomed as well since I recently got a new one. They did a, AB forum poll awhile back to see what patrons wanted to add, and these recent features placed first in that poll, I believe. iPhone was in there somewhere too, maybe 3rd.

    Hey everybody,

thank you very much for your feedback and posting the great review video by Jakob Haq which we are very happy about of course.
And yes, we have more lanes, iPhone version and swing improvement on our list (among with some other stuff). 🙂

If you like the new version of Octachron and haven’t done it yet, it would be really great if you drop us a little comment on the App Store. This helps us so much! ✌️🙂

Thx again everybody for your great support, enjoy
    and best greetings from Munich

Hey @girlvsworld, actually its possible to trigger pattern changes either through midi messages in standalone mode, midi messages Octachron reacts to can be found in the MIDI dialog:

Or in a host through MIDI controls

    Hope that was helpful! :)
    Cheers
    Markus

    Thank you!

  • Hey everybody, thanks a lot again for your feedback! Glad you like the update :)
Now we are curious what you all do with it? So if you like to post your jam videos here, that would be very cool!

Thx again and best greetings from Munich ✌️😊

Oh my goodness as if this app wasn’t great enough… really Excited about more lanes, iPhone version, and swing update. Thanks for confirming. This app is phenomenal, left a 5 star review a long time ago.

  • Yeah! It’s good!

  • Hey @Poppadocrock and everybody, who would like to have more than 8 lanes in Octachron!

Thanks so much again for your feedback and great support! 🙂
So we would like to have a closer look at this topic to come up with the right concept.

    So our questions are:

    1. What do you want to do exactly with more lanes? How is your workflow? Because normally you don’t need more than 8 voices in a drumkit, do you?
    2. How many lanes would you need then?

Or are you on the the side of those who are also just fine with 8 lanes?

Thx so much again and we are very curious to hear from you again
So long, best greetings from Munich ✌️🙂

Asking for a sequencer called octachron to have more than 8 lanes sums this forum up nicely 😂

Just make a new app called dectachron and charge us again! 😉

  • The definition of ‘Drumkit’ is quite vague, does it also include percussion?

Kick, Snare, Rimshot, Claps, Shaker, Closed HiHat, OpenHiHat, Cow Bell, Ride Cymbal, Crash Cymbal, Hi/Mid/Lo Toms, Triangle etc. etc.

I think 16 should be enough for starters.

  • 8 tracks is ideal for me.
For 16 tracks just use another instance.

Maybe there’s an argument for +- 12 tracks for melodic usage though?

  • I like the compact 8 tracks it has now.
I can use more instances if I need more.

I would say 16: to be able to evenly divide a sample in 16 slices in Koala for instance, then MIDI map each slice to a note (corresponding to a lane in octachron), and then start randomising…

I’d rather see 16 lanes (and no more than 16) than to use two instances for one drum source such as FAC Drumkit.

Using multiple instances is too fiddly and hurts my brain. 🤯

    This is a point ^^

Also, having one 16 track sequencer is great for

    • keeping percussion and the main kit in one AU
    • Great for keeping CCs with DrumKits and melodic sequences
  • Hexadecachron I guess it could be, or is it duoOctachron?

  • 2 octopi in the logo, too.

    Exactly both these posts.

Have a “x2” IAP so if you don’t want it, you don’t have to have it. It’ll also generate a bit more income for you

Agree. Great example of where an IAP is justified and people that need it won’t have a problem paying a couple of bucks for it.
I know it’s not on the list but I’d pay to be able to record into Octachron. Finger-tap record I mean.

  • would gladly pay for an IAP to double octachron's tracks

  • note: loading two instances of octachron to double your tracks is not always a solution as some daws only allow for one MIDI effect per track (AEM or MTS)

  • 16 would be great
Perhaps a little plus symbol at bottom to expand to 16, in case you don’t always want to use them or see them

Note: that is those daws’ problem, not this app’s fault.
Multi instancing AUs should be an expected capability.
You are bugging the wrong dev.
