Where does Neon save files on ipad.

Do you mean where are the files in the "Media Bay" stored? That appears to be in the internal app storage space, which isn't accessible as far as I can tell.

I don't have Neon yet so please let me ask you:
if I have wav file in my personal iPad folder and import it to Neon Media Bay the result will be fully duplicated file or just a link to original file location?
Is it possible to have the Media Bay content stored on external drive?

It will be a duplicate in a sense, but won’t consume more physical storage. They iOS file system uses a pointer to the storage, but it’s not the same as a symbolic link. Altering the copy doesn’t alter the original as it would with a classic symbolic link. The differences in the two files are tracked instead. I’m not capable of a more technical explanation than that. If you’re interested, this is a good place to start:

Is it possible to have the Media Bay content stored on external drive?

    No.

Thank you very much @wim! I'm still stuck in Windows stereotypes and definitely need to learn iOS more.

It can be a confusing and complex topic. There’s a wiki article with a bit mor info and links to other info, but ultimately it’s all a bit opaque and files management kinda sucks for users on iOS compared to desktop.

That said, APFS itself is kinda brilliant technically. 🤷🏻‍♂️

  • Thanks again @wim, the wiki page clearly explains lot of things I didn't know.

  • Hello to all,
I start to play with Neon as clip launcher for separate tracks actually in Drambo,
But want to check out more “Audio free” hosts.

I’m thrilled by Neon Audio slice and stretch features, but notice some chorus effect and volume drops,
When using the stretch feature on a 30 bar long audio file and change the host tempo from 110 to 126 bpm.

I checked the settings, but don’t find any option for different time stretch algorithms.
Also checked out the render option in Neon, same audible result.

Anyone knows, if the time stretch quality in Neon could be improved?

    Thanks, and kind regards,
    Goetz
