That’s great news because on iPhone 14pro, I’m having extreme crackling with any instrument. Only option in buffer settings is 256 but the sound is garbled, and other times there’s just a loud buzz than rings out.
I opened loopy pro first and set the buffer to 512 and then opened Zenbeats, and the crackling went away for a bit , but came back.
Good luck with a solution! Love Zenbeats on my phone.
iOS 18 beta 8
@MatthewAtZenbeats will Zenbeats ever get proper AUX tracks and more flexible mixer routing options ?. Also can we get effects pre / post fader options for the mixer.
Update here. We have a compatibility fix in test now while we finish up a few other tasks for the next Zenbeats patch. I'll keep everyone updated on progress. Stay tuned.
What are you looking to be able to do exactly?
Also, we have pre and post fader for send options already. Is this what you are looking for?

@MatthewAtZenbeats thanks for quick reply. I get phasing issues when routing audio into the sends in pre & post fader . They work different to standard Aux tracks . I will do more testing. Sends are usually for fx sends.
What I’am attempting is to route tracks into multiple groups but Zenbeats only allows tracks to route to one Group no multiple so attempted to do this through multiple sends but getting bad phase issues , hence the suggestion for multiple Aux routing options from tracks
Understood.👍🏼
@stormbeats - if you're using limiters on some of the sends, they're going to introduce latency and phasing issues unless you can run them without lookahead.
@wim yes exactly.
But isn't that going to be the case in any host? I don't understand what Zenbeats can do to counter that.
@wim @MatthewAtZenbeats it’s cool , I worked it out. I route all audio tracks to sends then I solo sends to stop phasing.
@MatthewAtZenbeats can you consider adding “add multiple audio , instrument etc tracks” and not the current one by one method using the + sign. Tedious when you have a lot of audio tracks for a project.
Also can we get a very quick fix for being able to switch off the default auto time stretch when importing audio.
It’s a strange decision to have implemented this to “On” as a default setting for all imported audio.
When I first used Zenbeats 3 , I could not work out why my imported audio was playing at strange speeds. This made me stop using Zenbeats 3. A friend of mine explained it was the auto time stretch luckily.
This has been on My personal wishlist for long time!
-We can make this an option in the future 👍🏻. For the record, we only timestretch small audio files. Long audio files should not have time stretching on by default
Hi Everyone,
Just a note that Zenbeats 3.1.8 (with iOS 18 support) is rolling out now along with a few other fixes and enhancements.
What's new in 3.1.8
👍👍👍
Great and now loopy pro U.I. Works perfectly !!
Thanks a lot Matthew.
@MatthewAtZenbeats latest update says Import improvements. That could mean anything. There is no detail on what has been improved.
Still have the same issue importing audio -set to auto timestretch by defaukt
That line is referring to us making our content import and export functions more prevalent and follows into the next line of implementing
the native share sheet support.
For example, let say you want to share mix with someone, you can go to the mixes page, tap share, then Share Export and the native iOS share sheet will take it from there. You
This works with sharing full song projects too. Want to back up your songs to iCloud or Dropbox? Head to the songs tab and tap Export at the top. You can choose 1 or more songs to zip up and and again then tap the share export option. This will open the share sheet and you can pick your cloud provider of choice. I'll be making some videos showcasing these things soon.
Hello,
I am having an issue with ZenBeats 3, making it hard to work in. Using iPad 10 with iPadOS 18.2, the sound frequently stops working. Most often if the screen goes to sleep or hop between apps, but even while just working in ZB. I am only using iOS Audio, no other interfaces. To fix it I have to go into Settings -> Audio and change the Audio Device to none and then back again.
It’s a known issue and reported.
I have also encountered this issue, most often when switching between apps that all use the iOS audio engine. I have less problems with it since switching to an Air 5 with 8 gb of RAM.
Can you explain your case more in detail? The dev needs to be able to replicate it.

Thank you for the info, it is a new iPad and it is happening now in Drambo too, though not as often. Never had issue with my iPhone, but it’s still on 17.
Is this a known issue with ios18? Couldn’t find anything while researching. I may either reach out to Apple support or replace the iPad with an Air.
No, the issue was there before iOS 18. Don’t rush buying new hardware just because my individual experience with the issue occurring less often after switching to an iPad with more RAM.
@MatthewAtZenbeats has said he’ll look into the issue, maybe @giku_beepstreet could do the same if you experience it in Drambo as well?

Could be related to not having background audio enabled in the app?
This could be a part of it, but any solid repro steps would be helpful.
I have it enabled.

Have you also disabled Siri? (It can sometimes interfere really badly with music related apps).
As @MatthewAtZenbeats suggested to also post non iPadOS related issues here:
Zenbeat 3.1.8.9399 on Win 11 Pro 23H2: double tapping on any clip in Clip View does not open the respective editor (as it does on my iPad) - in Timeline View I need to use the grid symbol to open the editor. Seems like a bug to me. At least it‘s super annoying…
update
It seems like Zenbeats does not detect a double click when there is no Surface cover or mouse attached. Double clicking on the touchscreen that is.
As soon as I attach any mouse device everything works as expected.
Thank for all the good advice.
I was able to solve the problem… It was the magnet on my Folio case. When closing it with ZB still running, the sound cuts out after a few moments (even with system audio muted and Lock Screen disabled). When I’d open it up again, ZB would freak with the audio issue. I think the intermittent issue was also caused by the folio case opened and flipped back, must have triggered it accidentally.
Tested this with Apple Music and it does not cut out. Drambo will cut out but generally resumes just fine.
Ditched the case for now, but I do like having a Folio style for on the go.
FYI: Background audio is enabled and Siri is always disabled
@MatthewAtZenbeats
Is it possible to import/export clips to and from Roland hardware, I have the mc101 and Verselab. I can exchange between them, would love to exchange clips with zenbeats.
Is there any way to add tags to user imported samples in order to make use of the tagging system within Zenbeats‘ file browser?
Update2
Either user or Windows issue…
Double clicking now works as expected.
This is the tricky part of developing a software that is to work the same on different platforms.
Zenbeats is very much alive and kicking! I am really looking forward to 2025, and my guess is that Roland and @MatthewAtZenbeats has something nice on the stove cooking for us😎.
