Just checked my purchase history. Seems I paid £3.99 for it in June 2016. I don’t know what that would be with 8 years inflation added, and I don’t know if that was full price or sale. I don’t think I’d pay $20/£20 for it today though if there haven’t been any updates. I’m sure there are other more flexible alternatives these days.
Fugue machine is great. Id buy it for like 8.99- 10$ and if it had all the parameters exposed to control with an LFO id pay more.
Its a classic tho. Everyone should have it
I bought Fugue early on at full price for $10-15. Thought it was a decent purchase at the time, considering its quality and the lack of options back then. No way I'd pay $20 for it now unless I needed that specific functionality. Even $10 seems a bit much now.
A few more music app IAPs on sale

I think it’s worth a solid tenner but with all the midi sequencers out there $20 does seem on the pricier side. I grabbed it on sale many years ago for $10.
and how about Rozetta sequencer suite ... all 10 apps for a tenner... :-)
Don’t get me wrong figure is a great app, fun, useful, creative, etc… I use it. I guess I’m just saying the occasional sale would probably put it in a more reasonable position

A couple more music app IAPs on sale

Heck I might have only paid $5 looking at price history.
I'm sure you meant Fugue Machine rather than Figure, but I get bummed out when I'm reminded of Figure because it's such a fun app and it could have been great with a song mode and proper export options.
The whole Allihoopa thing ended up as a dud, and most likely killed all further development.
Amazing to think that Figure came out 12 years ago. But it is still in the app store and is now free.
Figure history here.
I did mean Fugue, apologies.
Yea figure is an OG app. It was one of the first that got me started with iOS music.
I definitely had to do a double take when I saw the current price vs the (I think) $5 I paid some years ago. You could always send an email to the dev outlining your views, I guess? I also think he might make more profit overall if this was priced at a tenner, but I really don't know and that's definitely for the dev to decide!
Or yeah - even the occasional flash sale down to 10, similar to what Lumbeats does. This would be enough to tempt the ABF app junkies for whom 20 just seems too much, but who do really want to get this. I feel that would definitely net more money for the dev than keeping it at a static 20.
I paid about a fiver for it too, when it was released. I used it quite a bit, but there’s more options available for this type of functionality these days - for example I prefer using 4pockets Euclidean, or Harmony Bloom. Bloom is £9.99 full price, and currently £4.99 on sale, so twenty quid seems a bit steep in comparison.
Please also tell that to Olympia Noise Co. (Patterning 3) - no sales from them this Black Friday.
No sales = no sale.
You know what, that was a surprise - I think Ben should do at least a flash or limited time sale - everyone should have patterning 3!
Especially with the model of adding numbers to their new apps, instead of giving free updates or IAPs. 30 is a LOT for an app when people paid out for a previous version.
Bro- not having access to patterning 2 on iPad infuriates me. patterning 3 costs your first born child, and patterning for iPhone is just garbage on 3rd gen IPad.
Ben is cool and all, but fk bro- participate i. Some sales man. I check this thread daily for Fred's shit and Ben's P3 which imo is way better than oneshot.
I was waiting o. The FAC bundle too loll
U got good taste kiiiid
Finally caved. Sending "odd times" grooves from Future Drummer to Jazz Drummer sounded too good to resist. And it is -- even without flex swing.
So, I got STRNG- ran it thru all of my midi generators and it all sounded like shit, unless I use an actual controller. weird right?
So I loaded it up in MidiStep and it sounds absolutely incredible. I'm not certain why midisteps excelled where the other generators failed.
I haven't tried it in Harmonicer yet- but anyone have a similar experience with STRNG? Like I was super dissapointed, until I heard it in midisteps. Maybe it's hard to get lush sounds with it, I dunno. I usually use MODAL for string stuff.
Let us hear
