@brambos am I missing a way to send the same signal to multiple destinations? I assumed I could just do it like in MiRack, but it seems like I can't, for example, send OSC1 to the FM amt AND to the surgeon at the same time.

You can stack cables ... Long press on the output patchpoint and then the destination and a new cable will appear from the same patchpoint. I don't think you can sum inputs this way though - it only seems to be possible to stack output nodes if I'm not mistaken.

@brambos any chance you could implement the same stacking mechanism that Ripplemaker has? (i.e. dragging from an input to an output that already has a plug simply stacks it)

I’ll add it to the list :)

Not sure if it's already on the list: You created a superb generative sequencer with this app. It would be great to have MIDI out so it could be used with other hardware / software as well.

  • Is there portrait mode on the phone version?

    I second that!

This is kinda sorta like ripplemaker 2! Love it so far!

Yeah I noticed that it has some very similar modules to ripplemaker. For some reason I find it a lot more approachable though. Maybe it was the excellent @jakoB_haQ video

  • Yesterday I started a personal init patch that patched the same control signal to the vca & the filter to have an LPG in practice, but a dedicated switch or something would be pretty keen.

I’m really getting along with solderbox & it feel like the beginning of a fun friendship.

And since there's a list, do you think you could add an LPG mode (either to the LPF or the VCA)? I really like the sound of it in Hilda

    Oooo lists…..we like lists……

Could you consider a feature to randomise the knobs but not the cabling?

    Oh that's a great idea!

With the buttons and plugboard, maybe there could be a secret mode which turns it into a WW2 Enigma machine, to convert encrypted military communications into sound?

Have you not found that Easter egg yet! You have to dress in WW2 military garb and type in the special pass code and .......

Just posted the first fruits of my messing with it in Creations. I asked myself ‘Can it Dark Ambient?’’ Yes. Yes, it can. :) Though I don’t know if it is ‘contemporary’ enough… ;)

Amazing. Anyone using it in their iPhone yet? I’m wondering how these old eyes will manage on a smaller screen!

Yes! I am older and all of the words are legible to me on an SE2! I’ve been exploring Solderbox in standalone, but before responding to you i took time to open it up as an AU3 inside Drambo, and i am surprised to see that the fonts are still clear.
You just need to… [Edited] See soundtestroom post below.

  • @Blipsford_Baubie Once you maximise the screen, if you then drag it down a little further you will get the full app, no screen switching required, this works in AUM👍

I would like to be able to send both osc 1&2 to the filter in tho! Direct so i can use utility for other stuff

You should be able to, you can stack i/o cables by long pressing.
Never mind, seems to me you can only stack outputs, not inputs.

Yes, just like in the real world :) otherwise every input would become a mixer which is a bit more complex than you may initially imagine ;-)

For sure i actually sold all my modular gear because it just took too many modules to get things routed and I’m not a billionaire yet 🤣 all good i got no complaints this synth is awesome

I keep running up against not having enough utility attenuverters. Or, more accurately, maybe not enough attenuverter outputs. If I want to bring OSC2 into the mix, I think the way to do it is to send both oscillators to utility inputs and the utility mix to the shaper or wherever.

But then I can't effectively use an attenuverter to attenuate something like LFO output.

If there was a way to split the four attenuverters into two groups, or to exclude any of them from the mix, it would be useful. Limitations are good and in the spirit of hardware modular. I can live with that. But so far I feel like only having a single mix output option is somewhat tying my hands.

Or, maybe I just don't get how to use things to full advantage yet.

I’ve thought similarly. I worry I’ve missed something obvious, but a couple of dedicated attenuverters wouldn’t go amiss.

I left a review on the App Store yesterday! Curious as to how long before they show up? Also remember to review the apps that really inspire you. 🙃

I say this because evidently reviews on many apps we like get some pretty interesting ones

    • “doesn’t have keyboard 0 /5 stars”

    • “clicking the logo in AUV3 messed everything up other than that it’s perfect fix that and I’ll 5 star this 2/5”

    • or (the most confusing I imagine)
“This is great! I really like it 3/5”

I went through some reviews for some
Apps I like, Brams included, and more often then not it’s solvable problems or misunderstandings! I’m not even being biased just straight up. Other than the logo one I’ve seen each one of these in real life multiple times.

Spending 2 minutes for a quick review to offset that is nothing. IMO

EDIT: Bram gets mostly greet reviews I’m not just saying his apps! Also the responses on some of them from Bram had me 🤣

    Didn’t make me a rock God…..0 outta 5!

Ahh the joy of ever expanding modular rigs 😅

  • I think four attenuverters is a reasonable limitation. I just wish there was more choice than just individual or all for output. Even just a 1+2 and 3+4 mix output would help.

    Honestly… basically yes lol.
“Sounds nothing like the demo!… 0/5”

Yeah buddy we gotta learn to get good to sound like that haha.

Or the other one “I spent HOURS and I couldn’t figure it out and also I shouldn’t have to search online for a solution even the website of the developer for their very detailed manual it should just work”

    🥲🥲🥲

When Jim’s new app comes out, it will be “but I expected it to be £5 and better than Logic!”

  • Not really sure what I’m doing yet, but I leave here my first patch ever, for posterity
Careful, levels might be off the roof 😱
    This thing surely can scream!!
And it’s so much better with a midi controller. There’s that trigger button, very handy, but playing different notes opens up new sonic horizons. Not on this patch specifically, like I said it’s the first, and mind your ears 🙉

  • Btw @brambos just tried to open my own zip on iphone, it goes to downloads, in icloud, sure, you tap it there to unzip, but then tapping on it doesn’t open directly, had to move it to local storage folder first. Not sure if bug or feature, doesn’t bother me much
