Have you sent me your email?
Hey sorry for the late reaction.
If you really need this feature, it is possible to achieve it via the same trick as for NS2.
Put your MIDI fx on another track that outputs MIDI back to BAM - via Midi Route fx or external streambyter standalone app. Make sure your target track is armed.
Just downloaded BAM on my iPhone and it’s amazing! Controls are quite small but what can you expect. Great work and great value whether you have already purchased the iPad version or not I reckon.
Yer there’s work arounds obviously but they go against the workflow and are cranky at best.
Thanks for your feedback and support!
Is the iPhone version a separate purchase from the iPad version?
No, it isn't but App Store does not recognize that until you actually click to purchase it, but if you have already purchased you won't be charged.
No, I bought for iPad, downloaded for free on my iPhone 👍
Great, thanks!
It does if you go to the page where you can see your purchases. App Store->Apps->My Apps. It will be in the list and you can download from there. At least it was for me
We have created a roadmap for BAM. You can access it here: https://imaginando.canny.io/
Feel free to create requests, and vote on existing requests so we can better plan the development.
is it possible to use a modulator on an AU instrument ? if so how?
It is. Open the full edit window for the AU instrument and tap on the button at bottom left of the window. This allows you to choose parameters (they appear next to the button) that can then be mapped with a modulator. This is done by tapping on the modulator’s + button, then choosing the parameters that you selected in the AU window.
ohh very cool!!
Latest beta adds a multithreaded processing option. Its drops the DSP meter about 10% when going through the preset songs on my iPad 7, which is encouraging.
Hopefully it will cut down on the audio crackling I experience most of the time when loading AUv3s, though I don’t have a more complicated project of my own to test right now.
Thanks for your teams hard work @sinosoidal!
thanks this helped. but is there a way to do change the resolution to more steps or a smoother curve on the modulation screen?
if i automate, lets say a filter cutoff , it automates it in a jerky 16 step movements. i’m looking for a smooth linear modulation, just as i would turning the filter knob myself on a synth.
like this
That is not possible yet! We have an open feature request for that but we have a lot of things to take care before tackling that.
cool. i’m excited it’s on the list. i am loving this app, and so far that is the only thing i can think of that i would want added. that and maybe a keyboard that could be quickly accessed from any page your currently on. just a tab on the side and you can grab it anytime you want but stay on the page your still in. especially in the iphone version
From the outside looking in, this seems like an amazing app. Are a lot of people still using it? I see the new sound pack reels on IG and they sound so good, yet I see few people here talking about it. Seems like it should be getting more love from the fans, but maybe they're just too busy making firey beats 🔥
I missed the holiday sale, but still thinking about picking up BAM because I love everything else this company does, but curious about the Launchpad/Launchkey support? I think I saw on the official website that it has Novation support out of the box, but I don't see it on the app store description? Is that for the desktop version only?
@bluegroove It works well with APC Keys 25 MK2 mapping automatically.
Does BAM have automation options or P-Locks?
Yes, it has P-Locks
Nice seems to worth picking up.
So I just bought BAM and my initial impressions are that it reminds me of Drambo without the modularity aspect of the synths. Is this accurate? Looking forward to digging in and watching some videos. I’d be curious to know what the main differences between Drambo and BAM are.
After quite some time I have updated my Bam version, I was not disappointed. I have been jamming for a few hours. Playing with all the new features and absolutely love them. Thank you for all the hard work @sinosoidal
Can’t wait for the desktop version with vst/au support, Bam with Arturia Pigments would be my dream setup.
I love it too, the ultimate sleeper host!
Cool people and great updates .
I think it deserves more attention but I accept that we have quite a lot of choice these days!
Thank you very much for your feedback. Yesterday we have released version 1.5.0 with the following changes:
We have a long list of issues. We will keep improving BAM.
VST hosting is planned for the desktop version. Maybe for BAM's second anniversary? Who know's!
In the mean time, anyone can contribute with features to BAM's roadmap here -> https://imaginando.canny.io/
Thank you!
I've been trying out these new features and they're great:
They chord generation is a handy feature. Mutate is very useful - if you have a line or chords that you like but want to vary it a bit it's very easy. The Random Walk modulator is interesting but I'm having some difficulty understanding how it differs from the EG modulator.
The description on this one seems a bit mysterious to me:
I presume that this just refers to the randomize notes simply chooses in-scale notes? Just wondering if there's any additional capability there that I'm missing.
@EdZAB The random walk is a modulator that creates random values but based on this algorithm: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Random_walk
It differs from a true random algorithm since it introduces some musicality and direction to the output.
When you have a clip with a scale and you're automating the note parameter, if you use the random range to produce a random note every time a given step is played, the output will always be in tune. Lets suppose you have a custom scale with only C E and G. If you use the randomization range in a step, it will generate a either the noce C E or G.
This is also suppose to work when generating random values with the dice on the right, but I believe we have to fix that.
In the composer, Generate melody/chords and mutating them will also respect the selected scale
