I do hope apps I love and turely need last
but I know this is impossible so I welcome new comers and competition.
Thanks @jklovemusic.
Thanks for such a full reply @jwmmakerofmusic, really helpful, cheers.
Of course, mate. Cheers and happy music making. ☺️
This is such a great app... just saying...
very interesting.
because it's very close to how it goes for me:
MacOS & Linux coexist on my computers.
GR2 and Drambo coexist in my live setup.
i don't like and avoid using Windoze and DAWs.
Same! 😂 I used to have a Windoze laptop when I had the OP-1 Field, simply for file management on said OP-1 Field. I tried the then latest version of FL Studio (the first DAW I used on Windoze), and I froze up. 🫣 So yeah, Cubasis is as close I come to a DAW environment, and I will never again touch Windoze. (License unlocks, the need for antivirus software, etc, all make Windoze a chore to use.) (Yes, I know it's actually spelled Windows, but the "Windoze" spelling makes me laugh lol.)
3 cheers for- midi clock in
A workaround for the missing midi clock input is to use Ableton Link: Use an app that offers Link and that has a good midi clock implementation like Loopy Pro or Audiobus for example. Sync Loopy to your (external?) midi hardware, enable Ableton Link and let it run in the background. You can now enable Link in GR-2 and it will sync via Loopy Pro to the external clock source.
And yay! It now has Link Start/Stop too. 👍🏼
so, Launchpad Mini mk3 support and MIDI file import have landed in latest and greatest 1.1.4.
And MIDI file import should make some people happy!
That's a great surprise for today! Just tried with my LP mini mk3. I have to say one of the best Launchpad implementations I came across so far: Lots of functionality and it is possible to seamlessly switch between GR-2 session modes and user modes.
Thanks a lot Jimaudio!
Still bugs me.
Can I ask, can I record melodies and basslines on the fly, like you can in Drambo? In Drambo, the music can be playing, I hit record, and the loop doesn't start recording until I start playing, which is genius. And means I can create new melodies/basslines as I go.Is this possible in Groove rider 2? If so, i'll buy tonight!
Yes, though unlike Drambo there isn't an "auto grow" capability unless you record to the song timeline. you need to set the loop length in advance.
Did you ask the dev for it? It is a very sensible request
attn: @RajahP @jklovemusic @pricklyrobot
Damnit, I didn't know how to phrase the auto - grow aspect, but it's amazing. Really hope grooverider implement this, its amazing. Opens everything up for such creativity.
Yep months ago. He never responded, didn’t even acknowledge. Nothing. 👎
Load drambo, record to it, print to> @Overreach said:
I would try again 😅
Thank you..
How do you do midi import for the’ Drum Racks’? Pure Acid midi import work ok…
Importing those melody Midi Sequences and fitting them to a new scale works better than imagined..
Nice..
Looks like a bug to me. They (GM Drum files) import but only play the kick for all notes.
Midi import!
I’m thinking it may be related to the ‘midi in mode’…
Doesn’t work either way.
I don’t think that’s the issue. That just affects incoming midi.
3 cheers, hurray! Hallelujah, Bravo!
Below is a copy of the email I sent to [email protected]. Got this email from the FB page, hopefully it's the right email, I've seen it posted here before, seems like a different email.
Thank you for creating the incredibly groovy GRII. Keep up the great work!
One request I have. I own the Zoom Livetrack L-8. In every other music app on IOS that has audio input, I have the option of choosing from the 12 mono inputs, or 6 stereo pairs of the Zoom L-8 .
In GRII I only get one input for the whole Zoom L-8, assuming it's the master.
Can you fix this so I can choose inputs? I have included screenshots below of how it looks in Loopy and Cubasis.
Thank you soooo much. Having so much fun with this app!
Anyone else getting a long note jammed into the piano roll when using the step sequencer function of the Launchpad (X)? Every time I’ve tried using the step sequencer, it’s added a bar? long note when I hit a pad to add or remove a step. I haven’t used the latest version, but it wasn’t mentioned in the patch notes.
you're lucky.
because i have L-8 and i'll lend it him to address the issue.
