  • I don't know what view port size ZenBeats reports to the plug-ins, but most plug-in usually scale to the view-size the host gives them?!

Just for fun I re-installed ZenBeats a few days back and was quite puzzled that it still doesn't support pinch-zoom for zooming and I have to use the small +/- things near the scroll bars, for me personally this slows things down quite a bit...

Hopefully an update is not too far away :sunglasses:

Yeah, it would be nice with an update with fixes to stuff we’ve mentioned here. I agree with the +/-, it’s workable but the app needs pinch to zoom. We’ll just have to see what Roland have for us in 2026. I doubt a sudden update this year.

  • @Matt_Fletcher_2000 , what's up with Zenbeats, have you guys forget about it, seems to be no major update in a while.

Hmm yeah, no updates at all since 3.1.12 which dropped 7 months ago. Thing is, it's hard to imagine that Zenbeats on iOS is actually a money maker for Roland, and on desktop they have to go head-to-head with some much more capable and popular DAWs. Hope the project picks up some momentum.

  • there is a lot to like about Zenbeats, but it’s klunky.

For sure. It gives Cubasis and Logic a run for the money in terms of feature functionality, but yeah, it's clunky.

It sure is klunky, I just reinstall it after a while. Wish they could sort it out.

Happy New Year Everyone (late I know:-)

We are working on new stuff and I'll share more info when I can. In the meantime, Im happy to help with any issues or work arounds. What areas do you find clunky?

Hey @Matt_Fletcher_2000 happy new year to you and your team, glad to know new update coming, Hope it would not be to long away, would like to see a refinement of the UI, also would like to see things like pinch to zoom and all other issues I sorted out.

He said “We are working on new stuff.”
I’m not sure whether “new stuff” means Zenbeats, but I hope so.
Two years ago, he mentioned on the Steinberg forum that a new major version was planned for the end of 2025. As development always takes longer than expected, we can probably expect a new major version in 2026.
I have high hopes for Zenbeats — with a few additions, it could be the perfect DAW.

  • Hey @Matt_Fletcher_2000 is it possible in Zenbeats to use your midi keyboard on iOS to control Zenbeats playback and instruments,

That might be the wrong Matthew. Maybe @MatthewAtZenbeats is the Matthew you’re looking for

  • If “IOS unlock v3” is purchased, can that functionality be used offline without being logged in?

If so, does it require a periodic login to validate access?

Yes you can use a MIDI keyboard on Zenbeats.

As long as the iOS Unlock V3 is installed, you can use Zenbeats without being online.

  • @MatthewAtZenbeats every year or so i check in on Zenbeats hoping that pinch to zoom is implemented, and that it has full MPE recording, playback, and editing which i can’t live without unfortunately.

Has Zenbeats ever considered a public roadmap? I’d love to get a sense of what the Zenbeats team considers important.

I would love to use it. It’s an inspiring environment to work in, just missing some features for me. ❤️‍🩹

  • @MatthewAtZenbeats , i mean Bluetooth for your computer , like a keyboard case.
