Hmm strange, this link opened fine for me, both earlier and just now

Actually I haven’t said this before, but I love the fact the guide is also minimal, but at the same time thorough

I have intermittent problems accessing the forum on beepstreet.com domain from Sweden while all other sites work perfectly...
...I don't know where the site is hosted but as I've tried multiple different DNS providers with the same results I suspect the service provider hosting the site being one of the issues...

    Another beepstreet classic 🙌

Is there any way to edit the notes on a step? Remove one note from a chord for example?

I also can’t figure out how to choose which lane to record to when recording steps.

I have had exactly the same from Norway; intermittent problems accessing the forum while all other sites work perfectly.

I had some exchanges with giku about it, and then I found a fix. This is what I wrote (for iPhone):
The fix: go into wifi network settings, change DNS configuration from automatic to manual, and also add DNS server 8.8.8.8 (google).

Just tap in the lane you want to record in, Tim.

I don't think there's a way to remove one note from a chord, if there is, I didn't find it

  • xample?

It’s not yet possible to remove notes from a step, it’s coming, hopefully next week.

Ah whoops how did I miss that? Phone too small I guess.

Thanks @giku_beepstreet as well, I know this will be well supported! You’re a legend. Really fun, and just the kind of thing I’ll show to the kids in my family along with Koala.

  • It works now, weird...

  • Seems like KORG iDS-10 or Electribe Wave, but with AUv3 instruments instead.

I've tried both Google DNS and Open DNS and a few others and still get the intermittent problems so it's not a 'permanent' fix.
But hey, it's the internet after all, nothing will ever be 100% reliable and stable :sunglasses:

  • Have you tried to turn off automatic?

  • I have not had the problem once since doing these changes, but I used to have it weekly or even daily.

  • @bleep said:

Naturally because otherwise it will not use the DNS I type in manually...
(Automatic uses the DNS provided by the ISP).

Ironically, it's the only site for me that has these kind of issues, all others work without issues...
...so when it doesn't work I just take a short break :sunglasses:

  • I contacted my hosting provider. Hope it will be fixed soon.

  • This is seriously so good! I dig the simplicity of the design for sure. Limitations breed creativity.

However, annoyingly, I have some feature requests ;)

    1. Custom starting template
    2. An effect bus... or two
    3. Change length of individual track
    4. P-lock effects to steps
    5. Save a sampler instrument as a preset/rompler
    6. A euclidean sequencer? I'm asking too much... I'll go back to Drambo... lol.

    Just some ideas!

  • Love it! Thanks for making it BeepStreet. My only request for the app (if you're reading): Keep it simple!

  • edited March 23

Is there no way to copy several patterns at once?

Okay I lied, I actually have one request: A full screen pattern mode, where you are able to see more patterns at once, so that you don't have to scroll back and forth. Seems like moving the sequencer out of the way to make room for more patterns would do the trick, in the same manner that you can view and AU instrument or effect: Tap on the hypothetical "Pattern Mode" button, the sequencer is replaced with multiple rows of patterns. B)

This would stay within the "Keep it Simple" theme. Plus it would work well with the performance mode.

  • I’ve had a couple of crashes when loading AUv3 effects also a couple of times where the sound glitches and then no sound.

Just made this playing around with this after seeing that this app just dropped. It is fun and quick.

Bangin beat and that modulation is super cool with the touch and drag. Dope.

I ended up creating a “blank” save to start with.

I’m sure some will create save files with certain AUV3s pre-loaded for quick jams with AUV3s they know well.

Yeah, there were a few of us that asked for this in the beta group before release. Evidently that is the boundary between a simple music toy, and something more complex.

  • Don’t forget guys, you can load auv3 effects on the master channel

Thanks 💪. Yeah the modulation on this thing is really fun with the touch and drag. The reverse effect always seems to bring something dope out. I hope more features get added to it but it is really fun for what it is right now as it is. The small keyboard layout on the bottom fits perfect.

    Feature Request:

In this menu, maybe we can have a global toggle for whether patterns have 16 steps or 12 steps? I don’t think that would make the app too complex, since 3/4 or 6/8 is a groove most beginners are probably familiar with, whether they know it or not. 😄

It would probably have to be non-destructive, so basically just greying out the last 4 steps without erasing anything the user had inputted previously. Wouldn’t want kids to accidentally delete part of their work.

  • Whats the deal with saving a jam, when i “save as”and name it.. all is good, then I’ll make some changes and hit save and it wants me to basically “save as” again, as it shows “untitled” rather than what i named it when i saved it.

  • edited March 23

@giku_beepstreet i think I found a bug. If you have an effect on an instrument, and you delete the instrument, you can’t add a new instrument unless you delete the effect. There’s no plus button.

Yes agreed. Not add too many functions.
Only recording and then it’s perfect.

I reported this on the Beepstreet forum - it is a bug and is being fixed. Surprised more haven’t noticed it in the meantime.

If you press Load in the menu, you’ll probably find that the project has been saved in spite of the screwed up saving mechanism you described. Worth checking.
