BeatMaker 3 dropped to free!

Now you see how physical things and virtual things don't equate, I said 'hired' and you presume subscription. Intua said they are not moving to the subscription model, but not as yet IAPs for things other than content.
It's a contender.
So far I am a proud owner of Intua’s Beatmaker 3. I’ve paid for it and with this I’ve contributed to its egsistence (more proud). This whole blame game is a storm in a teacup.
When/if things change I’m more than willing to discuss but at this point it truly is an absolute waste of time. If people feel cheated they’ll have to deal with that themselves as feeding this echo chamber ain’t gonna change a thing.
I agree with you Brambos. It is unbelievable how people are so ungrateful. Man, I really can’t believe what I’m reading. I personally paid for the app. I’m actually really happy for those that got it for free now. Why? Cause that’s the way we all should be. Happy when others get blessed. Sooner or later you’ll get blessed too. It wasn’t our time.
This just goes to show how polluted and self righteous humanity has become. Just because a business owner decides to give his product away for free for a few days, all others who previously had possibly said good things about this business owner, now are saying “crucify” him! Wow, kind of reminds me of what we did when our own creator gave his only son to us to save us and forgive us from our sins, we said “crucify” him, while just a few days before all we’re screaming Hosana to the King! Most of you know that I’m talking about Jesus Christ.
How does this fit in, well, it just goes to show that after almost 2,000 years we haven’t changed a bit.
My suggestion, speak your heart out, it’s okay; that’s why we have open respectful forum where we can all speak and have disagreements. But let’s not throw dirt on such a noble and gracious move by a well respected and honorable developer.
Remember this is just my humble opinion. And I’m ok if you disagree.
Peace, love; the greatest is love!
I think the reason people are pissed off is simple, they have handed over hard earned cash, then it goes free... you would have to be an alien if this doesn’t grate your cheese just a little.,.
It might grate your cheese but you could have a bit moral integrity not to go on a fuckin moan tirade against the developer.
Respect, but may I ask if you're just a Christian for a few days, or it's more permanent.
Permanence, or the attempt to adhere to this, you have my respect.
A few days - this would confuse me.
If the intent is to bring music via Beatmaker 3 to everyone, this I fully respect, why only a few days.
No really. I had to work hard for my cash too. Yet it just really depends on your heart. Do you get happy when others get blessed? Ultimately that’s the question. From what I’m reading, the majority doesn’t. Which again, just goes to show where we all are currently as a human race.
Do I get angry when a homeless person gets a free lunch and I just paid for it? Absolutely no.
We need to see our hearts first.
I can totally understand that. It’s the anger being directed at Intua that is unrelatable to me. Pissed off in general, sure. Pissed off at someone other than yourself, not so sure.
@MusicMan4Christ
I believe our societies have been breeding and normalising this intolerance for many years. I’m not religious, but I’m with you on feeling good when others get something good. There really is enough good to go around if only people can see where the real greed hides itself
Maybe it won't change a thing, but how we fund apps via subscription, higher prices etc has become more of a topic lately, if a reasonable solution is to be found for everyone, then debate has to ensue, how will change take place, is this debate, at this time somehow taboo.
Holy s**t (literally) did "the stupidest thread in the history of the internet volume II - First dev part 3" just get a comparison to the story of the christian messiah ???
This thread is actually awesome, i was wrong, OK I'm taking odds, when will Hitler or Nazis be mentioned ?
You just did, all bets off.
Old Norwegian medieval woodwind instrument I believe...
Classic.
I’m just trying to sprinkle a little holy water on ya’all.

There's a voice of reason. I can't say I'm too shocked at some of the responses here. There was a time I would have been, but I've learned not to overestimate.
Regarding whether this is a good move by Intua or not... I doubt it hurts them, but it could help if it broadens awareness and their user base, or sells more of their other products in the future. BM3 has a certain value, and those of us who paid for it, recognized that value. That value doesn't disappear because they gave it away for free. The value is based on how good and useful the app is, not how much it could be acquired for at its lowest cost. Otherwise sellers would be shooting themselves in the foot every time they offered a sale on anything.
We can revisit this crazy thread a year from now and maybe see if it was all a big to do about nothing. My guess is BeatMaker will still be popular in whatever form it's in. It depends on the health of the iOS music-making market, which Intua has little to no control over.
It does not grate my cheese at all so I obviously just landed on this planet. What’s cheese even? We don’t have that where I’m from. But if I get upset now is there still a chance I can be a human too?
Yes, being pissed off, and then completely irrational because we're pissed off, is definitely a human characteristic. It's not something we all aspire to.
Like acid for me.....
OHHHHHH LORRRDDDDDD this thread is still going!!!!
I'm hoping it will end when NAMM is over at least!
if I was a moderator I would have locked the thread after the post @brambos made
I realise I could stop reading new posts but can't seem to help myself
It’s the way of this forum unfortunately, a couple of members disagree with the masses, and it becomes a free for all, kick-in-the-teeth pile of personal attacks and nastiness.
Horrible.
I wonder how many of those thinking a £40 - £0 price cut is a wonderful thing, paid £40 for the app? Actually I don’t need to wonder, the answer is none.
Tossers.
OT -
- wasn't the record breaking thread around the time of the release of Gadget and Guitarism?
Thx @brambos this is the best comment in the Thread!
Apple and all the other big tech companies are more than prepared and able to shaft all and everyone of us to pay for dividends, yachts and shiny bling.
The meek will inherit the earth, what’s left of it! ;-)
True, that'll be the robots then.
good luck to INTUA. hope it works out for them
Since Jesus and Hitler stopped by (!), Buddha can’t be far behind:
Y’all may have heard of the “4 Immeasurables”, four energies when ignited in people that become self sustaining, energies that are truly bottomless and that endlessly benefit all that share in them.
One is called mudita in Sanskrit, translated roughly as appreciative joy at the success or good fortune of others. It seems to be sprinkled throughout the thread, alongside its opposite. One way is life giving, the other not so much.
