Apple pencil too. 3rd party stylus makers won't like that.
I doubt Wacom will be punching the air..
No USB C port unfortunately, only lightening.
the thing is- I can see why a larger iPad would work better for musicians who use the iPad like a keyboard and lay it out in front of them- but even though I am a keyboard player I have discovered that holding the iPad more like a guitar- with a shoulder strap case- works a lot better for me- and I have an actual hardware keyboard in front of me- so a larger iPad doesn't help me- but it looks cool!
take care of your eyes kids.
Pro plus Pencil looks great for me!
I mostly want it for reading and writing sheet music. Auria and many other music apps should be great on it too.
Auria Pro on a 13" screen... maybe enough reason in itself to consider the iPad Pro.
I have top wacom and it is less money
They say more ram, how much then?
Yup.
a well kept secret, not even mentioned under tech specs on their website
No 3d touch. Bohoo
Maybe the 15" iPad Pro plus will have it all
Regardless of our hesitations, that screen is going to be 13 inches of gorgeous. We will all go buy it instantly.
Is the same ios. i was expecting something better and the size of the screen is useless for me too big.
No!
+1
Apple has a way of underdelivering in a major way sometimes, IMO. When we first heard rumors about the iPad Pro, many talked about a possible iOS - OS X hybrid. Now THAT would have been interesting. Just a bigger, heavier, and very expensive iPad - not really my thing. My current Air 2 is heavy enough, thanks very much.
Actually my old 2012 Macbook Pro just got stolen, and I ended up picking a brand new Macbook Pro 13" retina. I'm really happy with it. Since all of my music is sequenced, I'll probably shift some of my music making to it - I don't really need a touch interface for my workflow. I had an old copy of Sylenth1, which just got a long-awaited 64-bit version for Mac. Sequenced out of Numerology, an insanely good Mac sequencer. Really great sounds coming out of the Mac.
Haha XD you don't say
Lol! Yep big discovery, no? :-)
It really dawned on me (I'm a slow guy) how much money I put into iPads and App store over the years, making a really PRO setup on the Mac seem cheap in comparison. This forum had many such discussions and I promise I won't start another one, but every time Apple comes up with a POS hardware launch like this (in my very humble own opinion), I realize that the iPad is starting to become - to me - more of a money drain than anything else related to an efficient and productive workflow. Sorry for the rambling.
I forecast an uptick in the amount of Thesys purchases.
I would kill for numerology on iPad!
rubbing money into the touchscreen
I think with all criticisms we have about it now, it will still open up many great possibilities just because of the larger screen and faster processor. And the split screen will be great for running apps side by side in a more usable format. Of course this is neither a macbook nor an iPad mini. And of course it has to be heavier than an Air 2 but I find it quite impressive that it's about the same weight as iPad 1. I would not want to lose my mini retina for one of these because it's a great format as well. But a friggin 13" screen, that's just amazing. And you can use it as a second screen for the mac or use vnc... I do want one for sure. Only real problem to me is I can't afford it. Yet...
I'm happy with my mini retina...
This iPad pro is huge, I'd certainly be scared of dropping the bloody thing..
I didn't see any news yet, but if it's pretty much just a larger screen, but still no ports or file manager, then my air 1 is still working really well. The rest of my body is falling apart but my eyesight is great so the 10" iPad screen is perfect for me.
...and Fruit Ninja becomes harder than ever (lol).
They always make me wait. First gen iPhone, I wanted it so bad. Coming from a blackberry, though, no way I was giving up copy and paste. Wasn't even an option. Finally added it, and I got my first iPhone. First iPad came out, no front facing camera. I refused to get one without it, so I ended up waiting until the second gen to get one. iPad pro comes along finally, but missing the 3d touch. I mean, of course I'm going to buy it, but son of a bitch...yer Killiin' me Apple.
I'm, somewhat surprisingly, completely uninterested. The price difference is less than I thought it would be so are the specs I guess. It's a big screen air 2.
I thought I'd be on this but may do a refurb ipad air2 instead
