  • Novation are making an editor available via TouchOSC too according to CDM:

    http://createdigitalmusic.com/2016/04/make-novation-circuit-your-own-with-updates-browser-tools/

It's at the bottom of the article.

The new OS update is great, being able to use the MIDI input when recording is loads of fun. Now I can use MIDI Guitar to use my acoustic as a MIDI controller feeding Circuit.

  • ^ Will be cool to get an official or at least endorsed iOS editor. Looks a bit like my macro editor for TB MIDI Stuff mind you...

  • Oh no!!! This looks too good. I've been interested in Circuit since its release but have resisted a purchase. This update seems to address the few concerns that I had, and it is lowering my resistance. Arrrrrrrrrr!

  • does the sample import with chrome on ios as well?

  • Try it and see! I don't think so though.

i've deleted chrome from my ipad. And i see no reason to install it again until i have a circuit (or not)

  • Ah ok. Gimme a sec, I'll try!

  • Nope, Google Chrome does not allow MIDI communications.

  • Hmmm, I don't have Touch OSC... what all does the template do?

    thanks for trying!

i see that you can't map the synths eqs to the macros. That's a little bit of a pity (just really a little),i would love to see a second stereo output

not a big deal though to use the eqs via an ipad app or build a small iphone version in TBMidi stuff/Touch OsC

No idea, I've not got it either.

thanks for the link.but I can't watch the video now.Does the sample import replace ALL the internal samples or only selected ones?

edit:is it possible to pan the 6 instruments (or at least the drums)?

  • There is no pan, but with the hardware effects and built in patch chorus/phasor you can get some really nice width out of patches.

  • says the nicest Mastering Engineer on the planet...

You can pick which samples can be replaced.

  • I don't own a novation circuit, but thank you Matt and Nick for continuing to improve the instrument and bringing me closer.

@mireko_2 You've obviously tried it out, initial thoughts?

    Love it! great update

Touch OSC is a bit like lemur, control templates. I will have to wait till Monday to try, away at the moment.

  • On the CDM article I linked to earlier in the thread they show the template and what it controls.

Cool vibe! Apropriate track length!

  • The screenshot only shows one of the pages though, I think it will control everything.

Use of the cloud from the user perspective means that you have access to all your info wherever you are as long as you have a net connection.

I don't think there is anything sinister about it.

I agree. And that currently includes with Chrome on my Android phone, for all session Library functions and for almost all Simple Importer functions (just not the drag and drop bit). Haven't wangled it to work on my iPad, yet!

Please don't drop doing yours though.

Coz, so far at least, in the TouchOSC one from Novation, I can't find the page buttons that appear in the pic of the CDM article. I've put in a support query with Novation, but me-thinks there'll be a bit busy for a while, with all this recent Circuit buzz :)

It works on Android?! Ooooooooo (dashes off to steal kids tablet)

Don't worry, but it takes a while! Have you got TB MIDI Stuff @Salamander69 ? Wanna beta test when the time comes? (next week)

  • more qestions incoming that i couldn't find out in the manual:

1.are you tied to one preset (for each synth or drumslot) per session?Or can different patterns have different presets as well?

2.are the mixer levels per session or are thy saved within a pattern?Could i,say, fade out synth one, select another pattern for the synth and fade it in again?

Hard decision which groovebox i want now.But i remebered how great their support was (last autumn) when i had trouble updating the firmware of my BS2.They did not rest until it was fixed, made an instruction video (was not a user error though) and finally sent me the sysex file so i could dump it myself with a sysex manager (and not using the novation tool).Back then i said to the support guy that, because of the awesome support ,i'll have a closer look at all upcoming gear fron now on.Well, here we are. That could be the tip of the icing for a choice pro curcuit
