You two need one of these each
Ahhh sweet! 'Right angeled jack'! This morning i was googleing 'flat headphone jack' etc. and yielding little fruit. Thanks for the tip! Mmm, this may be a cozy couch jam weekend after all.

Droool...
Fixed that for you.
Where is the beer / straw contraption?
Correct, you are the angel
That is an optional extra....designed for minimum artistic interruption
I dunno, seems like the more state of the art we get the less import and export options we have, a grand future it is.
That's true for video too. You need to get Compressor to complement Final Cut Pro's options.
and in our sweet little land of iOS it's the inane business model of choice, I tell you if I hear the words 'it's just a sketchpad' or 'we made it to get music into the hands of the masses' one more time I'm going to throw this thing like a frisbee right out the window grrrrr
Three hours in I probably just scratched the surface potential but am totaly in love with this thing. So fun. The sounds are just so nice clean, creamy, phat and hardwarey... Just begging to be Looperated later. so nice to make mobile electronic music without looking at a screen too. Pretty lights. Soothing in the dark. Happy accidents galore. Great size and form factor.... Cozy... Prrrrr...
oh I meant the iPad not the circuit, don't have one of those yet
This
I am not in the slightest bit jealous. Honest
Here's a video of a guy using Circuit with a drum rack in Ableton.
interesting.
You can change the synth patch via Program Change and the drum voice via Control Change and the changes are super snappy so if controlling via Modstep say you can definitely get some really complex patterns going. See test vid below (please excuse the shakey camera!):
You can do lots of different styles with the circuit. This is an ambient spooky jam I did on bonfire night.
I'm just waiting for a pattern backup option. Been so productive with it I'm rapidly filling up the memory..
There is a cloud based backup option, but you need to log in via Facebook.

Nice track. I am liking the darkness / camera angle, I may have to adopt that myself!
@ghostly606 thanks, didn't know about the cloud based backup service
This is a little off topic but I'm curious where did all of the inclinations that musicians desired 'cloud based' storage options even come from... as a secondary or better yet third-dary option maybe but most people making music are quite fond of their little babies and tend to go to great lengths to secure them as close to the vest as possible.
They don't want to lose them and they don't want other people to get them either so this push for cloud based storage on a primary basis just seems like something that goes against the nature of the beast.
I always look at Cloud options as just another line of defense against losing songs. I'll always back them up locally, but if an app is available for iphone and iPad, cloud syncing is great too IMO.
I love the cloud although I lost my spreadsheets when Apple first introduced iCloud. It has however worked flawlessly since then.
Apple just added iCloud iOS sync to the desktop version of the iWork suite. I make a lot of event flyers in Pages. I can start a document with graphics and pictures on my iPad and then later work on it on my Mac and vise versa. Also works with the iPhone.
Yeah?! That's funny!
So after six days this is feeling like one of the best things I ever bought.
what's your fav thing about it?
Did you get your right angled jack?
Find myself tempted by the idea of a Circuit. Does anyone know if I'd be able to upload my UltraNova patches to it, or are we stuck with the factory presets?
Not yet! The place I bought the circuit was out of them.
