@crouchie thanks for posting, I think I still prefer the Dot Echo Dot version but this one is still at the demo stage so there's still room for it to grow. I thought the vocal sounded clearer and the words were easier to follow in this version though, and I really like your voice.
Thank you. The song works in both clothes. I liked I couldn't realize which version I have liked more. Maybe early vocal demo seems more groovy to me. And I will definitely scroll down for more
Right, extremely late this month (December) so I will just dive in.
@Igneous1 - Chef's Omelette
I think everyone has made the same observations about may of your tracks Igneous1. You always achieve a rich, full sound with plenty of movement over the length of the track but the fact that the riffs and rhythms change so much makes it difficult for me to hook into the tune. I do sometimes get similar comments made about my own tracks so I made a conscious effort to reduce the number of motifs that would appear and get repeated within a single track. It is difficult to censure one's output when the ideas are coming but it also seems a bit of a waste if a great little section of one of your tunes just becomes a fleeting moment that could inspire an excellent track of it's own.
@crouchie - Binge (vocal Mix)
Love the way you sing on this and the fact that you have kept most of it fairly dry. THe vocals could done with smidge more volume as they got lost a little towards the middle where the music got busier. Was wondering how you were going to 4 and a half minutes with a fairly straightforward pop song but needn't have worried as the instrumental section was excellent for both atmosphere and sound design. I may have been tempted lead out with another sung section at the end but to bring a little final climax but otherwise excellent stuff.
@LostBoy85 - If i ever. (ACAPPELLA)
Wow LostBoy! An astonishing piece of work. Everyone knew you could sing but you really pulled out all the stops on this one. I'm not familiar with the original but I'm guessing you have put a lot of work in with all the different harmonies and vocal tricks. Have been recording a few cover versions for my own practice recently so I am starting to appreciate how much work goes into putting something like this together. With vocals, one little off key warble or slight hesitation stand out a mile and this sounded near flawless. You should be really proud of this as an achievement and the production is great too, really crisp and present vocals.
@High5denied - Rise of The Capacitor 4.0-9'er at Zealoiville
I'm afraid I got a bit confused as I thought I had reviewed this track already. Probably my own fault for doing this so late. It's a good tune, the vocals still need beefing up, the music has plenty of intersting changes but I felt the whole thing could have been shorter/snappier. A few judicious edits would have given it more urgency I think. Enjoyed it though (again )
@JohnnyGoodyear - Ukelele Rain
I think I gave yours a quick review in December as well Johnny but listening again after a month was quite interesting. You have sat the vocals really well in the mix in terms of volume but also space. I'm not keen on the vocal effect for the main lyric (vocalive?). It does give the vocal some life but emphasizes an odd set of harmonics. Doesn't ruin the song which you have sung really well. The words are coming through much better but you could have paused occasionally, the music is pretty enough and would allow a little reflection on the content and a breathing space for the music in general.
@Igneous1 - Wildcat Palatine
Like the previous tune, full of great riffs, rhythms and sounds but not a single moment that I could recall. I do appreciate the amount of work you put into this and you obviously work to a very different aesthetic to my own but I get overwhelmed by all the changes when listening to it. Have you thought about using vocals on one of your tracks?
@High5denied - High 5 Denied at At Zeeotriblia
Sometimes when a track starts up you get a strong memory of a track you know. I was getting Thin Lizzy's 'Boys are back in town' on yours. Nice lively track and a goof riff and vocal melody. The timing was a bit off in places which let the feel of the track down a bit but nothing you couldn't sort by practicing the song a bit more. I was getting a few weird clicks btu I seem to rememeber this had been mentioned earlier in the thread.
@JohnnyGoodyear - Black Dog's Love Song
A welcome little amuse-bouche in the SOTMC-uh. Always leave them wanting more eh?
Part 2 (and maybe 3..) coming up

Thanks for the feedback (a busy Saturday night for you ). I think this matter of pausing/breathing space is def. something I need to give serious attention to as regards this song in particular but also my efforts in general. More patience (perhaps confidence even) needed. I appreciate the nudge.
First chance I have had but it's a nice way to relax.
Like I said, I think your singing has improved greatly. I just thought a few bars of music in between verses gives the listener chance to contemplate what they are listening to.
