  • AB is up, and a nice little update to Loopy.

This Christmas I'll be sitting in the corner the whole time staring at my iPad with headphones on like a teenager. Thanks devs. My family will hate me now.

I see AB on the list, so I'm wondering what this means. How is AB implementing this and what does it do? Is AB going to be a conduit, or would that even be necessary?

Also curious as to how/why AB will incorporate Link... Maybe some kind of master sync ? I have no idea... @Sebastian ????

I think start/stop for all apps wouldn't be out of place since Link doesn't seem to have it.

You'll find a master play/stop button in the Audiobus connection panel. In the Audiobus section. It's super rad.

Kind of cool, not all that useful for apps running on the same device though, because there's no sort of transport control and so you still have to switch between apps and are out of luck if you want to stop two apps at the same time. I guess Audiobus can fill the role of transport.

    That's what Audiobus is for.

  • The AudioBus transport control actually brought a smile to my face. Something that on the surface may seem so simple, may become such a powerful feature with Link. Still a shame that iMPC won't go on the bus.

  • @Sebastian thank you Abelton and the other developers who contributed to making LINK work. It's great!

  • master play/stop button in the Audiobus connection panel, YES!

@Sebastian, did you think about to set the TAB Opener of the AB Panel little up or down (or best adjustable where)
cause on my AIR2 the SplitTAB allways swiped over the AB TAB Opener and hide them.....grrr...

  • I see that the Korg Link app for using a Wist enabled app to sync with the Volcas is listed to become Ableton Link enabled. That could be interesting.

  • So guys and gals, has anyone here ever tried a portable wifi thingie :)

Seems this may need to be a purchase for now for Live rigs.

If audiobus transport has a midi learn that's all I need

Edit: I'm pretty sure loopy will be seamlessly integrated into new audiobus so no worries there :)

This is awesome. The most exciting thing since Audiobus first arrived! I just wish I had a day off to play. The timestretch in Loopy is really cool too. I've only tried adjusting by a few BPM but it seems to work great. :-)

  • I can envisage an explosion of multidevice set ups, screens, screens, screens.

That doesn't make me a prophet, does it?

  • This really is a game changer. So nice not to have to muck around with midi sync controls :)

  • I love this really much:
Just a 2 minute setup and jam. Awesome, finally I can produce tracks instantly.

@Sebastian that's what we were talking about the other day. This is now a valid option for producing professional sounding tracks with tight timing.

The Audiobus Master controls are rad indeed. The awesome thing is they work independantly from the other transport controls of connected apps. Meaning you can stop and play individual apps and still let the master play run.

  • LP-5 just updated

  • Yes the updates are rolling in. This is early christmas for me. This works like a charm. Well done!

Bassline and MoDrum just updated as well :)

  • My question is really, what will be the first DAW on iOS to support Link? (Cubasis, AuriaPro, MTS, FLM3, BM3?).

  • I bet Rim will be rather quick once he gets the SDK.

So Gadget and iElectribe on the same ipad should work?

Yeah they work on the same iPad.

Hmmm. i have an Air1 on 8.4.1 and both apps just sit there spinning their wheels...

Press play on both apps after you enable Link on them.

    I cant enable link...

Same here, link icon in iElectribe stays grey and will not enable

    iOS9.2 iPad Mini 2

OK so I opened iElectribe through AB and now the link icon is on, and link is working. When doing this stand alone it did not work, now that i have let AB turn link on it works without need for AB.

  • This all sounds like a concerted action today :) Maybe Ableton Live 9.5.1 will be also released today?

Alternatively, if a simple audio-only multitrack recorder (such as the infuriating Hokusai — sort out that time-wasting editing usability) or Twisted Wave, then it could slave to Gadget and actually be the much awaited audio facility (if they started in sync and maintained sync throughout, including tempo changes).

  • Since iMPC Pro is supposed to include support for Link I was happy to see an update but it's even buggier than the previous version, so those of you who still use the app stay away from the update that includes Link support, that is unless you only play content from the store and do not use the audition buttons in the sample-editor, they will after a few presses lock the entire UI and well...

  • I have Live 9.5.1 beta and it works like freaking magic.
I've played 2 Audiobus Apps (Loopy & TriqTrak) and Live. note for note sync!

Cannot comment on Ableton Live but the app releases are a concerted action.

Yeah we are just excited, like watching Trash strip in The Return of the Living Dead for the first time :p

I remember that! :p Still one of my all time favorite zombie movies and a kick ass soundtrack!

  • This is so fantastic...I have 2 iPads and I ran 2 AudioBuses and few apps Link enabled and it's fantastic....time change, on/off no problem smooth as silk :)

Thanks AudioBus for making a master on/off, individual apps can be turned off with their own switch. Well thought out.

  • LINK disable all other sync options like CLOCK, but CLOCK is using in so many apps....
is it possible to use the LINKed BPM to send these BPM as CLOCK to another app who have NO LINK?
