Sadly it won't, but you sound way too enthusiastic to stand in your way. Godspeed!
This is f*#%ing awesome.period
Thanks, wasn't sure of the best way to do that.
There's a Link-FAQ on the Ableton website (https://www.ableton.com/en/help/article/link-faq/) and there it says: "Link is included in the Live 9.5.1b2 beta versions of Live 9 Suite, Live 9 Standard, Live 9 Intro, and Live 9 Lite."
Link is so awesome I can't express enough how great it is! I even updated my iPad 4 from iOS 7 to 9.2 just to take advantage of the updated apps featuring it (and got Patterning too finally which I'm loving! Next up GeoShred maybe?)
Anyways / Link is to fucking cool. Enough said
Hey![=) =)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smiley.png)
Ah, yes, this is something we decided would be 'least harmful', to always use the tempo of the Link session, rather than loaded documents. I'm very open to the possibility that it's the wrong call; my first implementation had a dialog asking if you wanted to use the document's tempo, or the Link session's. Having a chat with the Ableton guys about what they think.
Until then: Loopy's timestretching is now nondestructive and the original tempo of the audio is marked on the tempo slider with white bars, so you can manually restore the tempo to the loaded session's without any distortion.
oh snap, this shit works with an iphone hotspot! howd i miss that? thought it was wifi only, which is fine, until i leave the studio. lp-5 & patterning is a brilliant combo now too! as i can free up clip slots in lp-5 that were previously held for drum loops, and run patterning in the background, controlled with audiobus remote. well done!
Agree LP5 and Patterning just work so well together![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
Mister Bat, what (general terms are good enough) do you like about LP5 as opposed to, say, the launchpad app or similar. I have it, but only now am stimulated by your above post...
@JohnnyGoodyear
I've just had a bass line and melody line going in LP5 with Turnado on effect channel one, which is switchable on the fly to the track it affects all in time with Patterning![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
I love Launchpad, but the above setup is so easy.
Ideally a choice would make sense. Same as in the new session. Then if you want the tempo to stay the same it is fine (which may make sense for some things) or set the new tempo to the saved session which is how I'm using it at the moment. Will try looking for the white bars thing in the meantime, thanks Michael
We just submitted an update to Apple to fix the slice markers problem in this most recent update. Keep an eye out for the release (whenever Apple approves). Also, if you haven't done so already, please write to us at [email protected] and let us know what issues you are experiencing. Be sure to give us details on the issues you find so we can repo them and fix them.
Thanks,
Eric
Thanks for letting us know that remedial efforts are underway.

Yaaaaaaa
@RedSkyLullaby for a second there I thought @Retronyms had announced they were going to add Audiobus support after reading your enthusiastic posts.
so,there you have it.Bought the AB multichannel expansion JUST to try this link thing properly that everybody is talking about. After i did almost my complete work with IAA for a longer time,i wouldn't have thought to go back to AB (i can see the advantages of AB if you play live but i don't do that). What can i say...it's as freakin awesome as everybody is sayin.Just wow...very impressive.Even Gadget works without problems now (in AB).And it's TIGHT.First time in 4 years of iOS music that i have nothing to complain about the sync (sure,a start/stop button for all in Audiobus would be great...but it syncs just fkin great).
Did not even try to combine it with my phone now, could breath some music life into it as well.
But is there a way to get rid of all the"this app wants to open that app",or is it just one time for all possible combinations and thats it?
I downloaded the Ableton beta, Link works great with stock clips loops etc. Couldn't get it to work with external plugins mind not sure if that's me further tested needed. I do hope this standard gets taken up by the big players of all the major DAWS, as I tend to use Bitwig as my DAW of choice. It's works over wifi so simple I wish audio was as easy with iOS to main DAW one day.
can somebody pls tell me how the heck i can SAVE my patterns in Finger Bassline pls?I never figured it out (or maybe i forgot),it's driving me nuts. And the manual..well...is almost non existent
@Crabman , good news is, there is a master button for all. It's inside of AB. And all apps that have an on/off have their own switch for individual on/off... Of course works for LINK apps only.
I don't know how it works with 2 ipads using Audiobus, didn't try it yet
I hear you on the Bassline, same mystery for me, got the package because of link...
I'm staying with on IAA sync for now as I need a way to stop the whole session via a midi controller. I just love ending tunes with a BANG.
It's like Ableton and Audiobus have sprinkled magic pixie dust over our iPads this Christmas. Well done to all.
I just wish I had more time to play with it![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
I hope Gadget gets single clip launching more than ever now......
I finally got time to have a quick play.
IElectribe iPhone and iKaosilator on my iPhone
IElectribe original on my iPad mini2.
Both on the same wifi network so they all synced immediately.
I previously had some issues with loading iElectribe and iKoassilator on my iPad mini2 through AB. I wasn't getting any audio out of iElectribe and it was saying 'error'. Tried a few combinations of reloading.
I did get Bassline/iElectribe and AB working on my iPhone 6 though.
I also couldn't find the master play button in Audiobus? Where is that please??
When it works it works very well though. Across the network between 2 devices was very impressive. Perfect sync. Dialing tempo down on one app effected all others perfectly. Great stuff.
I'm hoping for:
Genome to get Link soon. That would be awesome for various things.
MT Daw could really do with having link - then you could very easily use it to record all apps into separate tracks (which is of course now possible too - but you just have to start it recording first and adust all the audio later).
@Matt_Fletcher_2000
I think you will like ModStep
I hope all app dev get on the band wagon & get the Link eventually. DM1, Funkbox, etc. I think it going to make IOS industry standard for syncing? It's smooth as silk.
It's the button to the left of the tempo control. I still don't understand Projects vs Templates. I wish devs would stick to the standard Save and Save As functions that have been around for a million years. It seems like many of them have their own "clever" ways of file management. "Clever" is great but not when it comes to file management. That should be standardized across apps so you don't have to do something different for each app to load/save files. You also should be able to Save/Load from cloud sources in every app. I don't have a problem with iTunes but I don't want to be forced to hook up to my laptop for any function.
Thanks Eric!
I did forward a load of feature request a long time ago (over a year or so) and got a reply to my mail that it had been forwarded to the developers, that's about it.
One of the 'showstoppers' for me in iMPC Pro is the lack of 'input monitoring' when making/recording samples using external devices. I use the iRig Mic HD and Behringer UCA-202 for sampling/recording and monitor thru headphones. And well, the app 'forgets' settings like grid-size in time-line editor, preferably the grid-size should automatically be set based on the quantise value.
I do however like (i mean really, really like) the other import methods in iMPC Pro, sampling the iTunes-Library using the turn-table, and recording IAA-Sources, Wish these were part of AudioCopy too![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
As for AudioCopy, iOS Filepicker/Fileprovider (ie. iCloud Drive) support would greatly expand the usability of AudioCopy.
Sorry for hijacking the thread...
Back to Link that works pretty good so far![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
