LINK disable all other sync options like CLOCK, but CLOCK is using in so many apps....
is it possible to use the LINKed BPM to send these BPM as CLOCK to another app who have NO LINK?

You should be able to use a link enabled app as a midi master for external devices or other apps. But you cannot use it as a slave, because that messes with the whole concept.

Cannot comment on Ableton Live but the app releases are a concerted action.

So, are there any other releases in the pipeline for today? :) Maybe Elastic Drums?

This all sounds like a concerted action today :) Maybe Ableton Live 9.5.1 will be also released today?

    nope
Beta 5 of 9.5.1 was released yesterday
So it's at least 1 or 2 weeks to go (and only if they don't decide to do more fixes)

iMPC Pro just updated with Link.

I've noticed that dearly and the released version of iMPC Pro is so full of bugs I wonder how much they paid Apple to push it thru a review. 'Sample Locators' are misplaced when loading a sample, pressing 'Audition Left' in the sample editor kills the audio-engine and renders the app very unstable, and that's just the tip of the ice-berg. The previous version was somewhat useable. So it's a bit ironic that the description states "Various other bug Fixes" when in reality there is even more bugs in the released version... (Tried all the usual suspects, reinstalling the app etc. no go).

I have Live 9.5.1 beta and it works like freaking magic.
I've played 2 Audiobus Apps (Loopy & TriqTrak) and Live. note for note sync!

Can you still combine it with a hardware midi clock out to sync an ipad with i.e.gadget and hardware machines via midi?

Don't know. I've sold most of my stuff and only have the iPad, Push 2 and my guitar.

  • no update for iPolysix so far.I hope they don't "forget" this one.

Good job devs, this is practical technology but also very fun! It's great to have sync that just works for a change.

Thanks to all and happy holidays!

Thx @Sebastian try it and work in the beta version the midi option was dissabled....smile

  • (Loopy HD + Loopy) x Link = 24 track looper

Here is one particular formula I am eager to test.

  • so elastic drums has link now..... wonderful, but the update says that it changes the tempo multiplier , does that mean that it just works differently or that it is no longer there?

  • edited December 2015

and Fugue Machine now updated too :)

    edit: Flo beat me ;)

  • Bach in Fugue Machine with Elastic Drums beats :p

Had to reinstall both apps to start and the odd start up problem, but when it works it's sick!

  • I wonder when other developers are going to get access to the Link SDK. not just our favourite devs from Germany :)

Like MoDrum in this video, any Finger Pro app (LP-5, MoDrum, BassLine) can be used to generate MIDI Clock (incl. Song Position Pointer) synchronized to Ableton Link.

I hope they all will follow, ....that is those apps with a sequencer or arp....

Did anyone try Modrum with Bassline? It's Link as we know but bass line is stubborn....or is that the nature of BL?

  • I've found that Elastic Drums does not like to work with Link on off the bat, just repeating the first note....in time though :p

ED works fine if it's started first and then has Link enabled.

So Gadget and iElectribe on the same ipad should work?

Yeah they work on the same iPad.

Hmmm. i have an Air1 on 8.4.1 and both apps just sit there spinning their wheels...

Press play on both apps after you enable Link on them.

    I cant enable link...

Same here, link icon in iElectribe stays grey and will not enable

    iOS9.2 iPad Mini 2

    @AudioGus
OK so I opened iElectribe through AB and now the link icon is on, and link is working. When doing this stand alone it did not work, now that i have let AB turn link on it works without need for AB.

    Oh swweeenap! works! thanks!

I will now begin the chant... Auria... Auria... Auria....

THX for the Free App @Alexandernaut

  • OMG........ This is Midi Sync Heaven!....... Loaded Korg Gadget & iElectric, & Fugle (all at once)in Audiobus. Turning them on & off randomly. Now they all clock in & sync perfectly. Now need all synth updated to this, as well as Auria Pro, or whatever your DAW preferences & play away to the new Midi Clock Sync called Ableton Link......... Now have to keep the power cable in, or the battery will be zapped quickly on my iPad Air 1

  • Nice free App @Alexandernaut thanks
