I did try uninstalling and reinstalling all the involved apps (Gadget and iM1 on my ipad, Gadget on my iphone). I don't own Module.
Just try it and still digital clips when i "play" over recorded cc movements.
Not nice.
It is looking like my gateway to a Novation Circuit. . More train/couch friendly and i pefer the more focused sound, but alas no export, cant have it all.
If you have a multibar clip, it would be convenient to only play the bar you are currently editing or at the very least be able to move the play head. Is there a way to do this?
i updated my phone to icloud drive but not my ipad so assume it doesn't make a difference.
I gotta thank the many folks in this thread who've provided valuable information on the new version of Gadget. It works great on my iPhone 6+, and until I hit this thread I didn't even know I could get Module and iM1 sounds in there. The remote install worked without any hitches...I just followed the instructions...but it took quite a long time for Module while iM1 as expected was much faster.
The double tap of the Gadget to make it full screen is really handy but have to agree it badly needs a transport control there as well.
For sharing, The iCloud share, once I found it -- is great. I wasn't expecting to slide the file name, but tried that in desperation and there it was! I just sent a song file from iPhone Gadget to iPad Gadget...worked perfect...freaking awesome!
I don't have the Audiocopy app, so I had no problems in just using the general pasteboard from Gadget to paste into AudioShare.
Looking forward to multi-channel MIDI in, but really this is incredible, and I am super-duper happy about this FREE update!
@frejahel -- as far as I know...no play head movement is available....just start/stop and pause.
+1
;-)
I do so very wish for this ability, the loop selection/play within a particular bar or two...not so far sadly.
Still doesn't work ,used to before I upgraded to iPad pro could this be the problem?
No, it definitely works on mine, turn off ableton link , the metronome count in its not working for me when its enabled. For all of its advantages there are certain things really annoying about link right now, non of them a deal breaker but still.
I am now all set up with my iPhone Gadget.
iCloud Drive on both ipad and iPhone - remote install worked for both Darwin and Module
worked out how to share songs between two devices via iCloud (you left swipe them on the 'open' menu). This works really well. Both devices seem to keep things up to date as long as you have an Internet connection.
FYI neither my iPhone or iPad are actually on the latest iOS. They are both on 9 - but the version before the current one.
I just wish I could more easily share user presets in bulk. I also wonder if user samples used in songs are shared too over iCloud - if the song is shared. I assume they'd have to be.
It's great stuff (if a little battery zapping) on the iPhone. I think switching off 'background refresh' might help.
I'm loving the chords and the arp function.
Hmm, have I gone mad or is the chromatic keyboard scale not working.
What is this gone you speak of Mister Wig?
This addition would be the most productive update I could imagine Korg making (even more important than audio tracks!) The lack of such options is what ties me to cubasis.
Cheers turning off Ableton link was the key ,thanks !
So Link is breaking the metronome count-in? (Even if you don't have it "linked" to anything?) Good tip!
I commented on this thread several times, but only just noticed 12 pages in about the tip about getting iM1 and Module-based Gadgets using Remote Install from iPad. That's huge! Looks like it transfers them over WiFi? I didn't even know "remote install" was a thing. I have iM1, but getting those sounds available on my phone version is a big "value add" to that purchase.
See? There is a god, and he is Japanese lol
First up, got to say this looks like a great update!
BUT...
....It doesn't seem to fix the biggest problem I've been having with Gadget: the audio export via Audiocopy doesn't work at all for me any more... I think it might have stopping working when I got my iPad pro, having used it a lot on my Air
What happens is it follows the usual Audiocopy process but when it pastes into Audiocopy it just doesn't do anything.... I've got the latest versions etc and I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling it, but to no avail...
I saw the piece of conversation below and wondered if it could be connected as I've got the Korg IMS20 ??
Any suggestions gratefully received! This is quite a pain as I can only export via Dropbox which is far from ideal...
Will place module gadgets on the iPhone when I figure what utterly essential 1 gigabyte of stuff to chuck. Facebook, Twitter, iTunes and Kindle are just a waste of good space, right?
Try this:
After doing the audiocopy, just home button out of Gadget, go to AudioShare (or whatever you like) and do a Paste. Woks for me.
This is using the old audio pasteboard, the Audiocopy app that I don't have, I think has other steps that probably open the app you want to paste into.
This is nice..the arp function is cooool! Stable on my ipad mini retina
And, iPhones users must be in bliss!
I still wish Gadget could export using 'Open In...' or to iCloud Drive (ie. FilePicker), would make life so much easier.
The only downside of using the 'general pasteboard' is that samples need to be renamed, Open In... would retain the name of the object as it was called in the program that sent it (Usually 'app name - filename').
Hopefully the export options in Gadget will get better over time. The 'Drop Box' option just wastes internet-bandwidth when all we wan't to do is to move the file from one app to another.
Other advantages of 'Open In...' would be the option to 'AirDrop' files between devices.
I had/have this problem too.
However, I've seemed to have got round it by
Might take a couple of tries if Audiocopy wasn't launched first time.
Don't ask me why you now have to do any of that!
I strongly suggest to just delete the Audiocopy crap.Seriously it's not worth the hassle imo.I tried it more than once and always deleted it after an evening again. After getting rid of it,you'll never have anymore trouble with copying/pasting audio. The ACP app is also a ressource hog, eating more battery than an app like this should.Just use audioshare as your file hub,it's much better anyway.
How do I change the resolution on the arp? I am probably missing something really obvious...
(also, no latch?!)
I was surprised to find out that Gadget works on my iPhone 4s. The only thing I haven't been sucessful with is the remote install of Darwin. The connection fails, which is odd since both devices are on the same network.
Of course... the minute they make an iPhone version of an app all the iPadders rave about - it doesn't work on MY iPhone. 5.
Darn - remote install only works if both devices are running the same OS. My iPad2 is on 8.4.
