I've followed the instructions on the Korg website of how to remote install Darwin onto the iPhone version of Gadget but I cannot find remote install in Korg Gadget on my iPhone. Please advise.

Make sure both devices are on the same version of iOS (preferably 9.2.1), both signed in to the same iCloud account, both on the same wifi network. Force quit the app on both devices, start it on the iPad, then the iPhone, go to the gadget list on the iPhone and click on Darwin - the connect option should appear.

At least that's what worked for me.

. I would update my iPhone to iOS 9.2.1but I don't want to lose the jailbreak.

well,in this case you can't have everything i guess.Definitely did not worked for me as well before i had both devices on latest ios 9

First up, got to say this looks like a great update!

    BUT...

....It doesn't seem to fix the biggest problem I've been having with Gadget: the audio export via Audiocopy doesn't work at all for me any more... I think it might have stopping working when I got my iPad pro, having used it a lot on my Air

What happens is it follows the usual Audiocopy process but when it pastes into Audiocopy it just doesn't do anything.... I've got the latest versions etc and I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling it, but to no avail...

    Try this:

After doing the audiocopy, just home button out of Gadget, go to AudioShare (or whatever you like) and do a Paste. Woks for me.

This is using the old audio pasteboard, the Audiocopy app that I don't have, I think has other steps that probably open the app you want to paste into.

If you are using the audiocopy app, once you have copied your audio check for notifications from audiocopy that need to be acknowledged before the copy will work.

PROBLEM SOLVED!! I had the notifications turned off in Audiocopy - thanks @AndyPlankton

  • Anybody else who would love to have access to the eq/comp from the instrument view as well? ;)

  • Why oh why oh why does this not have "note replace loop recording" like in ids-10 and ikaossilAtor? Korg already has the tech and know how and the way tracks and scenes are arranged begs for this feature. It's literally that one small step away from being my dream music production app. Anyone got any workflow tips for live recording the gadgets to a track?

Is there a way to get the musical things I load into each track in Gadget full screen? Just curious. HAven't had time to browse the manual yet.

I bought the two expansion packs, and now I am wondering. Should I buy Module on sale for 20.00 or get im1 for $30.00....hmmmm

Is it what I am seeing that Module is Piano style songs in the base app? and im1 is more Synthy sounding?

Gadget is the best app I never knew I needed to have. lol....

As mentioned it really depends on your preference, but you do get a whole lot of great sounds with the iM1 In my opinion. But if great grand piano sounds are more important to you, you need module.

  • Gadget is perfect for composing music, now i hope korg will add a module specialized in recording audio, with voice presets, vocoder, etc.
I thought Bilbao wasn't the best for this purpose, but maybe i'm not using it correctly.

Head over to the Korg Forums and feed them all your ideas :)

  • Anyone else noticed that the full screen gadgets have about the same size as volcas now? (on a 9,7"screen) :) so much better now...

So I've had gadget on my iPad and module on my iPad. The universal update is great but wish module was universal as well b/c I have this hick up. So I did the remote install and have all the instruments. Only problem I'm having is that Salzburg is only showing sounds 1-24. The Synthology sounds I purchased on iPad module that are in my iPad gadget do not show up in the iPhone gadget. I believe I read that in app purchase don't transfer but not totally sure. Anyone else having this issue. Also I do not have iPhone module. Does it have in app purchases for the additional sounds. And also if anyone has bought the triton expansion on iPad module does that transfer to iPhone gadget or not. Thanks

It's true tha IAP's don't transfer according to the documentation, but it seems to only apply to the large Synthology IAP. I have both the Wurly and TRITON sounds on my iPhone 6s via remote install. And all of the expansion cards for the iM1

I'm not sure about the organ IAP of Module as I don't have that.

Thanks for the heads up about the triton purchase working in gadget. It's definitely the Synthology Iap. Also not sure about the organs either. I'm guessing it might be due to Synthology being 2GB.

  • The organs IAP is NOT transferred during remote install.

I'm selling my electribe, are you in Europe? :)

Why? :D Could be a great addition to your new Octatrack.

  • It's just not for me. As much as I appreciate what it can do, honestly I spend way too much time with it and don;t have many results to show for it. Where as something like Circuit is a lot more fun for me, between that and the OT I have my bases covered for grooveboxes now.

I don't hang on to gear I'm not using, so this is a pretty common thing for me to do :)

  • I know. Just kidding because of your OT teasing :)

Will place module gadgets on the iPhone when I figure what utterly essential 1 gigabyte of stuff to chuck. Facebook, Twitter, iTunes and Kindle are just a waste of good space, right?

This app is great for recovering free space:

    https://itunes.apple.com/es/app/memory-disk-scanner-pro-check/id921515621?mt=8&ign-mpt=uo=4

Two apps that waste a lot of space are Whatsapp (you can only solve it doing a backup and dleting reinstalling), and Dropbox. That app sometimes does a good job with Dropbox , but not allways, so you'll need deleting / reinstalling at some point, despite Dropbox has a feature called "Delete recent searchs", or something like that (translated directly from that it showed in spanish). You can recover a lot (600 Mb my last time), depending how much you use Dropbox and Whastapp).

  • Thanks for the tip @fjcblanco but I've tried that one before and been pretty unimpressed TBH. I have phoneClean on my Mac which sometimes can get stuff, crash logs and such. My current clean up scheme is simply to delete and reinstall Facebook, Dropbox and Tweetbot every month or so. I'm considering adding a recycle of my email accounts too since they seem to jam up pretty quick. I never get more than a gig or so back. Think the solution is simply to buy a bigger phone next time

  • Really enjoying the new arpeggiator in version 2.0 but could someone explain what "Hey Sync" is for?

It's not "Hey Sync". It's KEY sync, which syncs the arp to start when you hit a key.

  • ... But Hey Sync sounds like a great function!

  • How do I change the arp resolution?

Try some of the presets, some are at 'lower' speed, there is no 'note-resolution' for now, just presets-patterns.

Sorry, but it is called Hey Sync. It is voice activated Sync. Simply say, "Hey! Sync!" during your performance to start the synchronization.

    Hope this helps!

I used to have the "Hey! Drink!" functionality hard-wired, but I've upgraded since then...

Glad to see one fat finger can generate such giggles from the Gadget fans.

But seriously, I don't see any difference in how the arp starts, whether key sync is on or off.

With Key Sync on the arpeggio pattern starts over from the beginning whenever you press a key. With it off the patterns is free-running all the time and pressing a key just turns the sound on or off - does that make sense?

@RJB It's probably easier to understand what is happening using a really low tempo if you want to check it out.

Would this be the Link enabled version of Siri ?

That's what I thought it meant but I find they sound identical most of the time. I guess I need to work on my ear and experiment some more. Thank-you both for the explanation.
