Sadly, no. That's one of the benefit of discreet iPad and iPhone apps vs universal apps.
When Gadget goes 'universal' what will happen with the other Korg apps?
iM1 is for now 'iPad Only', Module is available for both iPhone and iPad but as two separate apps.
Both these apps enable 'Gadgets' in Gadget.
For some strange reason Korg decided to split 'Module' and 'iElectribe' into two apps, one for iPad and one for iPhone.
So what will happen with Gadget projects that are made with the iPad version when they are imported into the iPhone version that doesn't have all the Gadgets available?
If even 50% of the requests made to the Korg forums end up in Gadget 2.0 it will be a pretty neat update
I very much look forward to this update. Per track eq and compressor - who'd have thought it
Another "must have"for me would be a way to backup my own presets.Hope it's possible with cloud stuff etc but i doubt that,i have nearly one GB samples i use in the sample gadgets.
Sweeeet.... Eq and compression in gadget... I hope chorus and more robust reverb shows up at some point.
The LE version might work as a second Gadget on the same iPad, right ?
Both good points
Hmmm, curiousnesses...
Assuming 2.0 is a free update, I don’t see what is motivating Korg to put major resources into developing the core app. It’s already cool and worth the purchase. More gadgets, though, they could at least charge a few bucks.
These would be at top of my request list too. Next level stuff
Still no audio tracks? Really? Did I miss it?
agreed - and get rid of the Amsterdamn gadget too! Or at least let us load our own samples (15-20 seconds in length would be good)
Interesting point
I agree! I've been a huge Gadget fan since day one (still am) and the most exciting thing about the update is eq and the compressor? Using all the app in Gadget would have been amazing!! I'm sure it has to be in a future update. The whole gadget ecosystem is closer and just makes sense to bring everything together under one roof.
Making it universal means hundreds of millions of iPhone owners are now potential customers. Opening it up for effects Gadgets (just speculation on my part) gives those potential owners (along with current owners) something to buy which is money in Korg's pocket.
As for this update, hoping they snuck AudioShare in there.
If added side chaining on the compressor I'd eat my words. Well kinda..
If I read correctly Gadget 2.0 will allow sharing (I read that as both import and export) data (Patches, Sounds and Projects) using iCloud It would most likely mean it supports for iCloud Drive/iOS File-picker for Import and Export thus it would also mean we can access AudioShare using the standard iOS File-Picker.
iPlolysix can already do a backups to iCloud so it's just a matter of time before Gadget can do that too.
doubt that. But the pump FX makes up for it a bit.
@Samu : thanks for the info, that would eliminate another big complaint (in my top five) besides missing track EQ/Comp !
Is the biggest question being...evaded here? Is this a brand new App or an update from version 1? Can anyone confirm or deny whether or not the universality will apply to current Gadget "owners", or will this continue the trend of having to purchase an entirely new App to take advantage of new features?
Does anyone care whether or not audio gets added? Both of my hands are way up in the air, and yeah, I care.
Yes I care, being able to integrate vocals, and maybe AB inputs from other apps as audio, would make this a much more powerful tool. I am still hoping...although it doesn't seem imminent.
My feeling is this will be a free upgrade for current users - but what do I know... And yes I really really would love the promised audio tracks too - but have slowly come to a realization over the past year that the chances are slim.
i dont see it ever happening. If Gadget did get audio tracks then the Gadget cloud thing, which I never use but seems super popular, would be reduced to rubble as you would probably get tracks made with anything but Gadget filling it up. i would love audio clips but assume that korg put the bullet in that idea long ago.
"There's a roadmap for future updates that will add new gadgets and support audio tracks, further perfecting the system as a mobile music production studio." Copied from their current Gadget page. So I don't think it is completely killed by Korg.
That has been there since day one and I just think they havent updated the page.
when is the update going to be released?
On their website (nanoStudio page) , about the gadget LE for iphone, you can read that it will be available for download in march
Is it true for the ipad version update ? I bet yes, but that is only my guess
Hmmm.... Do those buttons say midi?
Yes but it looks like they just removed the yellow light that tells you which track receive midi and replaced it by this button, and on the picture i can only see one device receiving midi, so it doesn t seem like the multi channel we dream about... hope i m wrong ...
Thanks for the shot by the way
