  • Triton sounds in Glasgow? Bam, instabuy! I may not have all the module expansions (such as Ivory Grand), but being a 90s kid who always wanted to own an M1, Triton, etc, these are pretty much dreams come true. More and more I can craft great tracks like this.

Per channel compression and EQ were sorely needed and now make my mixes sound tons better.

  • Mmmm very little free space on the 'ol iPhone. Goodbye Auxy & Garage Band, hello Gadget 2.0......

    Ruddy great !

    • Per track eq and compressor (a must for a DAW, in my view)
    • Undo (!)
    • Scene naming

and the new stuff (which I haven't had time to look at properly yet) and all for free ! Saying that, for most 'Gadget-heads' the Triton IAP will be pretty much mandatory :)

I have to say that this is very much what I was hoping for with the new update.

  • Hmm, anyone know how to install Module for iPhone in Gadget via iPhone? It shows the install button, opens Module for iPhone then nothing happens! Also do you need to keep the module app installed after successfully installing thw module gadgets?

  • Has anyone really tried making something on the iPhone? :)
I have the 6s but it's barely usable with even a pen :)
    Anyway, I'm not complaining.

I really really wish for just a tap to zoom on the sample file on that sampler gadget so I can edit start points better.

I've been having a blast using it on my iPhone 6. You can full screen the gadgets by double tapping outside a knob or button on the synth which makes manipulating the controls and parameters much more managable.

How do you change out a gadget on a track?

I seem to remember a "gadget" button, but now it's gone?

    Otherwise, wow!

Update: solved on iPhone: tap on track name when in gadget view.

  • The arpeggiator is a real treat. So good, it might be a game changer IMHO.
If only we could have multichannel MIDI. ....

The button has been removed, but you can tap on the track's name to exchange the gadget.

  • Multi timbral midi is still hoped for but nice update from Korg. The full screen gadget option Is great for when jamming with other apps and Link.

Yeah just spotted this, they've removed the way to change gadget when on a track, why? Unless it's now hidden...

Would be nice when in full screen mode to be able to swipe at the top to change gadget track....

  • You can still change using the function key, but strange why they removed the gadget switch shortcut

  • The arp is great...

They give you 12 or so different gate patterns which is really nice for coming up with rhythmic stuff. I used to use StepPolyArp for this type of thing - but it's now much quicker doing it all within Gadget.

This, and the fact that it's on iPhone, are the big wins in this new update for me.

    Exactly.

  • I want to buy the Triton sounds, but since IAP's does not work on iPhone it will kinda ruin the whole new multi-device workflow now available. They need to fix that as it kinda removes some of the incentive to buy IAP's.

    Lol, that's nice. didn't noticed.

  • Also, they finally fixed the timing so it's easy to record on the first beat. I used to have a lot of trouble when recording drums with that first beat not being recorded when starting with a count it. It's spot on now and I also like all the small visual cues you now get, recording, hitting keys etc. VERY nice update.

However it seems iCloud saving is not 100% stable. I'm having trouble getting saved songs to show up on my iPhone.

This is for if you own Module for iPad and have bought the iPad version on an iPad. I have bought the Module app for iPhone. Gadget seems to allow you to install the Module Gadgets via the iPhone version on the same device hence there being a regular "install" button on the Gadget "buy" page. Its probably just a bug atm.

  • It seems all IAP's from Darwin/iM1 IS on the iPhone, but the module IAP stuff does not get installed via the remote install (as mentioned in the instructions) I'm glad the iM1 stuff is all there.

  • I see the TRITON IAP is only 34MB which makes me wonder if that WILL be added on the iPhone when doing a remote install (since the iM1 expansions are added) can anyone test this?

The Ivory Grand stuff is definitely not added (but that's also 1.2 GB)

The Intro video available through the Korg News shows NanoKontrol Studio operating the mixer B)

Now need to get home and see if my NanoKontrol 2 will do the same

  • edited February 2016

things are tiny on the iphone version, but usable

And it looks like the iphone version has all the same export options as the ipad version

    Big ups Korg!

  • Is it me or the 6s gets very warm after very little time spent in the app?
PS: My latency setting is standard.

I had a quick try this morning and it's didn't work unfortunately. In the settings there is only an option to connect a bluetooth midi device – I guess Korg want us to buy their new controllers! Strangely my NanoKontrol 2 works with iMS20 simply by just connecting it. I only freakin' bought it to use with Gadget! I'll contact Korg via the Gadget forum to ask if it's possible ...

  • How does it work with Korg Module for iPhone?

Cheers for the info @Oblique I too bought my NanoKontrol II with the intention of using it with Gadget, but alas the only thing it seems to work well with is iElectribe :/

OK, I caved (I know, fast) but I'm happy to report that the TRITON sound actually DO get installed on the iPhone when you to a remote install from Module on iPad. If you have already done it, you need to remove the module Gadgets first (by going to the general Settings app, under Gadget -> Utility -> Remove Module Gadgets) then remote installing again. Now you have all 100 TRITON sounds in Glasgow on iPhone too

So it seems it's only the large IAP's (Synthology) that are not available (the WURLY sound are also there)

Tried on a friends iPhone 5 and it's really hard to use, really it's for iPhone 6 and specially 6 plus.

  • edited February 2016

Using it on my iPhone 5. Took a bit to get used to, but it is very usable for me. But I use an external keyboard with it (or use the sequencer), so I would probably have problems trying to record with the on-board keyboard.

  • What they did for Kiev to make it work on the iPhone version is pretty cool.
