Over the last few days two of the things I wished for in 2016 have already happened. First Mesa/Boogie in Amplitube and now Korg Triton in Module. I choose to believe that I am personally responsible for these things happening.

  • Hmmm. Possible bug in new update. It seems that the tempo stays the same across all of my saved tracks. It has defaulted them all to 120bpm. When I change the BPM, and open a new track, that previous BPM is applied to the newly opened track.

    Maybe disable Link?

Yep, that's what it was. Thanks!

  • Which gadget has access to the new Module IAP, Triton? It has me stumped.

  • Thank you.

  • Anyone having an issue with the transport controls disappearing?

  • Forget it - my bad. MIDI sync set to external. Ooops!

  • You can sync your Module and Darwin gadgets to the iPhone version! Great stuff!

Crazy to have Gadget on iPhone.

Still needs AudioShare though, to get samples in...

    But wait! What's this???? Sampling?!?!?!

    taps on it

    iDS-10 gets opened?!

WTF, you can now sample into Gadget from other Korg apps???

    Am I totally baffled?????

    EDIT:

Yes I am baffled. It appears the sampling option is tied to the Audiocopy app. First I'm aware of it.

  • this neat stuff. sad there is no new gadget, and its a bit weird on how some things are hidden [like the arp showing up on a popup menu on the scale button] but funkyness.

i do hate that ripple effect when playing a key/pad. agh, why does that bother me so much? hehehe. im guessing there is no way to turn it off? please say yes... :'(

I'm just wondering what will happen with my favourite 'Gadget'(iM1/Darwin) as there is no iPhone version of iM1 yet. Maybe iM1 will be universal too?

Darwin is there after remote install. And so are the Module gadgets without buying the iPhone versions. Yay.

  • OK. So, one can still only drive one instrument at a time from MIDI? Is that correct?

I did the following: Created some tracks in Gadget with 3 instruments. Exported to DB and imported to Auria Pro on 3 MIDI tracks. All good. I see the MIDI.

But trying to drive Gadget from AP doesn't work like I'd want it to. Seems like one can only drive one Gadget instrument via MIDI at once.

I tried setting individual MIDI channels in AP (1,2,3) but - doesn't make any difference.

Going back to Gadget and selecting the mixer view only allows me to toggle the MIDI button between instruments - not select them all.

Am I missing something? Or has Korg still not added selectable MIDI channels? :anguished:

Looks like I'd probably end up deleting Gadget again if so. Eh well. Was hopeful.

Please let me know I'm wrong about the MIDI - someone

  • No live multichannel MIDI. Dammit.

    And to be consistent....

Seems to be some kind of weird undo functionality on the piano roll. Very modern...

Does this have the 'randomly erase your whole song' enhancement too?

Yes. Beside this cosmetic issue, the update seems to be amazing. 98% of my wishes are fulfilled :) The remaining 2%: user sample management (folders, moving, renaming) in Bilbao/Abu Dhabi and a Vocoder/Voice Synth gadget.

This update is to Korg what the recent Garage Band update was to Apple; a bit of razzmatazz, but nothing to blow anyone's socks off. More than likely so Korg can sell us the real deal at a later date.

Yeah Gadget on iPhone is no biggie, oh wait.. Gadget on iPhone is immense! And the arpeggiator is really nice, especially as it records the arpeggiated notes to the piano roll.

One little defect? If you have one finger scroll enabled, which is brilliant, multiple select doesn't seem to happen.

It does happen, just need to press and hold for a sec before you move to make selection. If you press and move right away you're scrolling. Same deal with drawing automation.

    Good find Thank you

  • The EQ is really, really nice. The tiny increments on the dials is very satisfying.

    May start using Gadget again..

  • I was hoping to get more IFX per track, Phoenix Gadget needs more effects :)

Will dig deeper once the other downloads finish...

  • I kinda like the fullscreen Gadgets (double tap the 'Gadget') but where is the logic behind hiding the transport controls when the 'Gadget' is shown in fullscreen mode?!

Guess we'll see more IFX on the mixer in future update. Phoenix needs more effects :D

  • I have a question.I uninstalled KORG Module, to save up space (after I downloaded the new TRITON expansion) and the instruments on Gadget have remained the same (Ivory Grand, Wurly, New Hammonds, Triton).

    Is this normal?

  • Any list available of the Triton sounds, or a more in-depth demo (Doug?). Who am I kidding, I gotta get this one!

yes. sounds are stored outside the apps

  • So far it seems to work pretty sweet, the 'Triton' Sounds are available thru the Glasgow Gadget.
It's like my 'wish' for the sounds from Triton Tactile for Gadget came true, 100 of them are here 412 to go :)

The iCloud Drive implementation is half-hearted for now.
I would have liked to be able to import samples to bilbao & abudhabi using iOS-FilePicker.

And for future update I hope we'll see multiple IFX per channel in any order we choose. (The UI is there, the EQ/Comp buttons could be 'pop-up' menus where an IFX could be selected, right now they just toggle IFX ON/OFF).

I still don't get the logic behind why the transport-controls are hidden when a Gadget is shown in fullscreen :D
(Guess I'll make a post about it at the Korg forums later, I bet I'm not the only one wondering about this 'design decision').

  • Ok. Installed on my iPhone5s. Probably very hard to use it because the small screen but, you know, I'll give it a try this evening. Thanks, Korg.
