Sounds not good...
So it needs an ipad pro then ?
Annoying when usable specs are not quoted
It's usually easier to ping them on Tweeter and then email them @ support. I think/hear that they're busy on something new
So they have stopped developing Modstep and moved on to something else ?
I have no interest in investing in another developer who doesnt finish an incomplete product, I have no issue paying for updates, as long as they come.
Could be setting the hares running a bit previously there...
I'm sorry, what does that mean ?
I have no idea...i think i read that they were working on stuff on the forums. Sorry for the disinfo...or rumors. I am pretty certain they are working on Modstep, they just had an update in late September. They love their app...and those of us who use it love it as well.
I think he means I shouldn't be muttering things based on here say
So what are the rumours ?
Is it something that would work with Modstep like Mux, because their DJ app is half finished too (no DVS)
I know nothing more than they are working on stuff...as they should be...take stuff to mean whatever you want it to mean
What a strange comment !!!
Why do people act like an app that is going to cost a couple of dollars is like nuke codes, thanks for your faux input though, it was really helpful !!
Huh? What does Donald Trump have to do with Modstep?
Anyhoo...i've found that whenever I've had issues with Modstep, it's best to ping them on Twitter, wait for their reply and then send the email. It's worked in the past, and it may work for anyone having issues.
Temperately handled. Well done.
I'm not having issues, I am trying to make an informed choice about investing time learning the app vs its logevity.

What ?
Not surprised by lack of response unfortunately
Rest assured that ModStep is a very much alive and kicking.
Are you one of the developers ?
Touchable, of the same dev, havent been updated since ableton 9.5. Now its 9.7, and touchable crashes all the time. Touchable is amazing tool, but unusable at the moment, and not beeing fixed.
That is very very poor !!!
Just been round a friends who has this, he said to try it out before i purchased it because it is a bit buggy, literally the first thing i did, killed a project and now it can be crashed on demand, just by trying to change an instrument in a chain.
Also the long click timing of presets on the synth preset list is a complete joke, when you try to scroll it selects a preset rather than scrolling the list, really really bad, I use touchscreen devices all day at work from different developers, this is worse than a Pocket PC from ten years ago !!!!
The developers should not be working on something else, they should be fixing this package, The features are good for sure, but the execution is very poor.
Why not just raise the price if they can't justify development time ?
$50 for a bug free solid/stable version of this, no brainer.
i used touchable with Live 8 and it was amasing, though now iam IOS only
Having spent a bit more time with this app, well it is just a complete mess isn't it, the developers obviously don't actually use the app, the scroll lists are next to impossible to navigate, it doesn't actually import MIDI like it says it does, strangely it imported it in the sampler browser, but in the main browser it just acts like a complete cluster f**k, it wont import, it wont create folders, nothing.
This is probably the most underwhelming software ever to be hyped in to silliness, is this the level of mobile computing is it, all you have to do is SAY that something does something, and people rant and rave like it is amazing, when in actual fact if this was a desktop app, it would be laughed at like the poorly written software that it is.
DO NOT BUY THIS RUBBISH
The developers will ignore you when you message them too
Now i have finally gotten MIDI to import to the browser after three closes and reopens, exactly the same MIDI file that wouldn't work before, (Yes intuitive)
This is terrible
Drum and melody are two different things in the piano roll and the step editor WHAT THE ACTUAL F**K, who the hell thought that was intuitive ?
But wait, it gets better, the piano roll and step editor are completely different things too !!!!
Seriously, this is the least intuitive software EVER created, how the hell can a sequence be it created in the step editor or piano roll be different, then just to rub it in, no this is melodic (Imported MIDI file) so cant work in drum mode hahahahahahaha, wait, hahahahahahaha, heres another hahahahaha, yep MIDI was never used for drums was it.
FFS, really, get some real testers, go use a real app, event data is universal you fools (The developers) it is not melody either or drum !!!!!
If i import MIDI, i want it available in the piano roll (Melody and drum) and in the step editor (Melody and drum) are you really that stupid ?
While we are on your poor design ethos, long press to delete notes hmmmmm, so double clicking a note would have been better here right, well considering it is long hold and drag to move a note, oh wait long press, long hold, hmmmm, and we already know you have an issue with press timings (I refer back to the near impossible to use scroll lists as mentioned previously)
Just a quick reminder
DO NOT BUY THIS RUBBISH
Really enjoying your meltdown. I had it too, but Modstep keeps calling. It is a world unto itself, and there is nothing like it on iOS. I agree with everything you say. But when you get it, you get it.
Oh i get it, and trust me, this is not a meltdown, I beta test and help develop a few desktop apps, create tutorials and write manuals, and write for a couple of magazines on and off this thing is a complete and total joke, there is nothing to get, it is a completely flawed design.
An event is an event, no matter if it is in a piano roll or step editor, it is an event no matter if it is in some imaginary drum mode or melody mode, this is a universal binder, it has been like this since day dot, hardware or software, they are reinventing the wheel and making it a triangle, utter stupidity, AN EVENT IS AN EVENT, if i import a MIDI file, it better damn well work in melody/drum/piano roll/step editor.
This is a toy for people who have never used any hardware or software sequencer.
What is that supposed to mean ?
I think i may be too old for the humour around here, sorry i am not a teenager, so some MEMEs go straight over my head
I got a reply from their support, and it was about as useful as their app, not very haha, they even said, just give us a bad review hahaha
Good luck getting useful updates out of these guys, they couldn't care less.
Modstep is quirky but once I submitted (like I suspect this little goat feller is about to do) it really works well for me. I used to go on rants but now I just buckle up and accept it.
Oh my someone has their back up.........most people round here are far older than you might think.....I get that you are wound up by your frustrations but please show people some respect.
And to be perfectly honest, if you spoke to the support team like you spoke here in this thread, I am not surprised they didn't want to help you
Indeed but make sure you're THIS side of the Severn Bridge first.
